Re: Help
Allard, now that I¡¯ve updated the latest BitX40 firmware, is there any reason to keep the original Cailbrate switch?

Re: IRF510 lead length #bitx20help
Totally reasonable, totally feasible. You know, if you were carrying it a little distance, like 3 inches (7.6cm) you? could have Pin 2 travel back via a bit of short, RG174 coax, shield grounded

Re: Strange tuning problem on BitX-40
Hi David, Let us know if you plan on trashing the rig. Someone will probably offer to buy it. Thanks Marco - KG5PRT

Re: Low output power
Yes I've made some local contacts with good reports back. No DX as yet, but had a West Papua (YC9) return my call, but we were unable to complete the QSO. That's 1200 km from my QTH in Darwin,

Re: Low output power
Phil, Mine had a bad contact at the power connector. Things looked normal but when you tx nothing out! A pull and push of the final power jack solved the problem! Raj

Re: IRF510 lead length #bitx20help
Should not be a problem,? to reduce gate inductance related parastics etc you can add a ferrite bead or use trifilar wiring. -- AncelB, MIT EE6002

Re: Low output power
Thank you all for your helpful suggestions. Now I warned you I was a complete novice and it turns out that I hadn't damaged the rig at all but instead had neglected to reconnect the wire to the PA

Re: Help
Hi Bill, If you install the resistors BEFORE the jack/switch you can hear the sidetone on the speaker, and when you plug in your headset you will hear it your phones. 73 Allard PE1NWL

Re: Strange tuning problem on BitX-40
Hi Raj, I tried the sketch you sent but it would not compile. I have ordered another Raduino. If that doesn't work the whole thing is going in the bin!!! Life is too short. Thanks for your help, David

Try that sketch I sent a link earlier. It displays the pot position on the 2nd line. Raj

Re: Filtering noise from Raduino
I'd recommend not going lower on the caps, but resistor might be OK higher. I run at 51E. measure the voltage going into the regulator (the 7805) - don't let it go lower than 7V. A good raduino should

IRF510 lead length #bitx20help
I'm looking at offboarding the IRF510 on my 20m ver3b board and attaching to a heatsink outside the cabinet. To do that I'd need to extend the leads by about an inch. Would that be feasible or am I

Are you having trouble with his Australian accent? If not, re-run the video - it's all explained (particularly if you refer also to the hfsigs circuit diagram). His quoting "the DDS" means the Raduino

Filtering noise from Raduino
I've been chasing down some noise problems in my bitx40 kit. For a start, my switching power supply is generating a _ton_ of noise. Using a 12V battery fixes that one. Now, when I plug in the Raduino,
