Re: DIY build your own N5ESE Ballpoint Pen RF Probe for cheap. Prefer a Sharpie RF Probe, yes we have that one, too.
I'd like to see some sort of RF probe built into the main board of the Bitx40 on any new PCB rev. ?At least pads and traces laid out for it, to optionally be stuffed with parts obtained by the user.

Re: QRPKits BitX20 Carrier
Hi Don, In addition to the other very valuable insights and suggestions you've received, for the specific problem of the carrier behaving as an "AM transmitter", I'd suggest you check the balanced

Re: Tuning clicks
Very weird. ?I uploaded a couple files a few days ago, was easy enough. ?Now I can't. ?Can still create a new folder just fine. ?Did some sort of "UploadFile" button disappear from the groups.io

Re: 2 and 3 pin connectors used with Bitx40 sad board
LOL!? I'm with you Roy!? I thought it was ridiculous too!? Heck, I didn't even want to pay for Chinese ones, so I tried crimping them with needle nose pliers first (instructions are out on the net

Re: Tuning clicks
There was a long discussion of the Si570 and possibly moving to the Si5351 on the minima mailing list a few years ago. ?Much of it still pertains, including discussion of holding the divide ratio

I just bought this RF probe: http://qrpguys.apps-1and1.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/probe_assy_111916.pdf as it has a readout but isn't tied to a DMM. Jack, W8TEE To: [email protected] Sent:

Re: 2 and 3 pin connectors used with Bitx40 sad board
After trying and wasting money on other crimps and dies I wish I spend the 50 the first time. They're still a long shot cheaper then OEM molex crimps. If you feel you'll need them again for future

Jack's Books W8TEE
Hi Jack supports this group with his many postings and software insights. I just bought a couple of Jack's books. Hope to learn more about the Arduino C environment and some amateur radio examples.

Re: Raduino transistor getting hot
Hi Sarma! The load current is way lower, about 0.15A (what the current draw on the +5V line is). That results in a power dissipation of 1.25 to max 1.35W. TO-220 package has a thermal resistance

Re: 2 and 3 pin connectors used with Bitx40 sad board
This is a genuine question and not sarcasm, is 50 bucks a good price for a simple hand crimper? I was shocked when I saw the price. Roy WA0YMH

HA!?As it turns out, QST has accepted my AA article for publication...don't know when that will be, but they said "in 2017". As you know, there is an assembly manual for the AA and we will be selling
