Re: What's New? NANO every

Hi Dave
It would be interesting and helpful if you could start a new thread and share more - many more details how you did what appears to be a really incredible build.
I believe a bunch of us would be interested in learning from what you did.

I can't seem to find the amp you are talking about. Can you post a link please.

Battery Pack #ubitx-v6

Since I'm still stuck in bed I have been working on a uBITX v6 basic kit. Since I'm in bed I am unable to run a power cord from my power supply to the uBITX. So I have been using a little battery pack made up of 8 rechargeable AA batteries. It has 12 volts for a bit but that is about it.?
I'm guessing here that the three-wire connector P1 is for an optional battery pack.?
I'm planning to have some surgeries after the first of the year on my back. I'm planning on being able to be active then and I want to get back into riding my recumbent trike and operating the radio from city parks.?
I'm interested in having an onboard battery pack for my uBITX. Has anyone added a battery pack and if so could you please tell me how you did it and what batteries and associated parts did you use??

Thank you

Re: What's New? NANO every

Hi Mark,
I have more or less finished boxing up the uBITX V6.
It uses the stock KD8CEC firmware on the Arduino Nano for the uBITX.
I decided to make all of the additional features separate to the Nano, using a D1 Mini ESP8266 module for control and monitoring.
? 12V reverse voltage protection and in-rush current limit.
? 5V, 1A SMPS for all additional digital logic and Nextion display.
? Voltage and current monitoring for 12V, 5V and 3V3 rails.
? RX audio with SSM2167 (AGC) and LM386 amplifier. Volume and AGC configured via digital pots.
? TX audio with SSM2167 (AGC). Mic level and compression configured via digital pots.
? PWR/SWR bridge
? Provision for temperature monitoring.
? Cooling fan controlled using temperature and/or supply current levels.
? OLED display for Volume, VI monitoring, Pfwd/Pref/VSWR and other parameters.
All addon features can be controlled/monitored over WIFI using MQTT with NodeRed.
I may add a serial bridge between the NANO and D1 Mini to allow for WIFI control and monitoring of the uBITX (using the CAT commands).
A few pictures attached.

Then do 2 short presses on the FB to go to the CW parameters:
#### CW Configuration 2 short presses - set CW paramaters (sidetone pitch, CW-key type, semiQSK on/off, QSK delay) (only available when PTTsense line is installed) - using the tuning pot, select "straight" for straight CW key operation, "paddle" for automatic CW keyer, "rev. paddle" for left-handed CW-operators, "bug", or "rev. bug". - press the FB - using the tuning pot, select Auto-space ON or OFF (only when automatic CW keyer was selected) - press the FB - using the tuning pot, set the desired touch keyer sensitivity (0=OFF) (only when touch sensor mod is installed) - press the FB - using the tuning pot, select semiQSK ON or OFF (only when TX-RX mod is installed) - press the FB - using the tuning pot, set the desired timeout value (ms) (only when semiQSK in ON) - press the FB again to save the settings - using the tuning pot, set the desired sidetone pitch - press the FB

Hope this helps.

I can select Straight or Keyer from the Settings menu OK.
when i try and transmit CW the radio is switching in to CW on YTX but into LSB on RX. the CW is very choppy.
I have added the CW mod to the DSS board and the keying lines for the paddle.

Any idea what may be wrong?
Is there a later version of Raduino code suitable for this version of Bitx40?

Re: uBitX40 with Raduino V1.29 DDS on CW?

Not familiar with the original Bitx40 code, but there is no special hardware for receiving CW.
So receiving CW in LSB is correct, the only issue is that the display frequency
will be off by a few hundred Hz.??

Most Bitx40 users replaced the code it was shipped with to Allard Munter's code:
??
The "bitx40" code in the upper right of that page requires no hardware mods to the rig.
The "bitx40-raduino-v2" code in the upper left does require some easy mods, giving many additional features.
