Re: New kit: QDX - Digital Transceiver by QRP Labs
Hi Rafael As Jerry said... It's a matter of optimization. Most currently popular ham digi modes are sequential FSK modes (single carrier). FT8 accounts for more digi mode activity than all the others put together. A good SSB rig is a more complex and costly transceiver and that's what's needed for multi-carrier modes.? 73 Hans G0UPL http://qrp-labs.com |

Mario: In my Open Source code, I will often add something like: #include <Rotary.h>???????????????????????????????? // https://github.com/brianlow/Rotary The "//" means that, whatever follows, is a comment and is ignored by the compiler. However, I use it to tell the reader the URL where they can go to download the Rotary library. Perhaps your code is doing the same. Jack, W8TEE

Jack Thank you for answering my question, actually.
in the sketch I can't find any reference to the screen libraries, also where they are referenced is marked with the "//", that's why I'm confused.

Which TFT library are you using? Make sure you match the library to the driver on your display (e.g., Adafruit_ILI9341 to the ILI9341 driver used by the display). Jack, W8TEE

Paul, You didn't get it calibrated properly for some reason.? Be very careful - make sure the lower right corner of the screen isn't shorting to the metal case as that will cause weird things to happen with the touch screen.? You need 4 x's touched for proper cal.? Top left, then top right, bottom left bottom right after bottom right it should go to normal screen.? You might have bumped the screen right after you hit the third x.? That is about the only thing that would cause that.? Try it again, make sure you get all 4 x's.? If not and you can't figure it out, send the board to me WITH the display and I'll fix it - no cost other than shipping. Jim

TP20 is the audio input so thats why your birdies vanish. It is very odd, I think you have a grounding problem.. please check. Raj At 14/10/2021, you wrote:
Hi Evan, thanks for the quick response. I (once) again recalibrated the system but that did not resolve the issue. The birdies are very strong (loud), they are comparable with an input signal of -70 dBm. When I short the input of the BFO mixer (CW-2) the birdies are still there, but when shortening the output of the BFO mixer (TP20) they are completely gone, is it possible that it is injected via the clk#0 signal (mixed with clk#2)? |

The mandatory files were needed for another version - try programming it with the Teensyduino add on as is and if it doesn't work, then those files need to go in the "hardware/teensy/avr/libraries/" directory.? I think PJRC has included them in the latest "Teensyduino" add on.? You should also download and install (In it's own directory, don't use windows installer) it before you install the Teensyduino.? Tell the Teensyduino's installer which directory you installed Arduino 1.8.16 in and that should take care of it. Jim

for it's intended purpose.? It does not attempt to do everything. If you need multiple simultaneous tones, there are dozens of SSB transmitters you can choose from.?? Also, a reminder about 1206 devices ¡ª if you are doing a ¡°dead bug¡± project and need a passive component across two adjacent pins of a 0.1¡± spaced DIP IC, a 1206 device fits perfectly. They¡¯re also easy to solder if you first clamp one side of the 1206 with spring tweezers and solder the other side.
You¡¯ll be pleasantly surprised at how easy this is and perhaps more importantly, how much space it saves. 73 Jim N6OTQ Sent from my quenched-gap spark transmitter. |

And why does this limitation exists? Because of the non-linear power amplifier? Most of digital telecommunication these days are OFDM / GFDM... always multi-carrier. Cheers, Rafael Diniz On 10/13/21 9:58 AM, Hans Summers wrote:
