Re: Audio Filter
Hi Paul, The uBitX radios have an SSB bandwidth IF filter (the xtal filter). I have used radios with SSB and even AM bandwidths on CW. The audio filter really shines sorting? CW signals. I have come

Re: Audio Filter
What gain setting did you use (for the audio filter)? Just got a ubitx v6 last week and now wanting to add mods.? Amazing receiver.? Reminds me of a heathkit hw-16 in sound quality.? Listened to a

Re: uBITX and ft8
Hi Ashhar, That is a good idea. I can first try something like from the old time QST or shortwave listener magazine articles. A tunable preselector. If that helps then I could switch to building a

Re: uBITX and ft8
Tom, A more aggressive front end filter migth eliminate the noise substantially. The ubitx front end is wide open. While tuned to 21 Mhz, it can overload from a 100 khz noise from an smps. The bitx40,

Re: uBITX and ft8
That's what I really liked about WSPR. With the little uBitx chugging along I could see my signal showing up in places like Antarctica. It was really cool to look at my little transmitter and think

I have also had good success with the W6JL amp and both FET's he used..? I had PCB's made for it (less the relay switching) and my build can be seen here if interested.

Re: uBITX and ft8
I used my uBitX for FT8 a lot! Just two cables straight from headphone and mic jacks to the computer soundcard. Just as easy... Where I live, the QRM level is absurdly high, and my antenna options are

Re: uBITX and ft8
Thanks Jerry, I played with WSPR and FT8 for a while and then lost interest in them. This sounds like a great mode perfect for my uBitx. In a quick look at the site I think it might have a mailbox

I have had considerable success with IRFZ24N. This was discovered by W6JL for his ARRL Homebrew contest winning entry. The IRF510s, idled back to provide 2 watts of drive can easily push a pair of

The RD16HHF-1 works fine on 6m it will also work higher , I have used them all the way to 222. Both the VHF and the HF transistor are essential the same transistor only sorted for a certain gain at

Also, it sounds like you got a very early one with the analog VFO. If you are going to use a DDS (highly recommended!) then just remove the L4 inductor which is the yellow toroid right in the middle

You don't need the Raduino. You can use the QRP Labs VFO kit: https://qrp-labs.com/vfo.html I used one of these for a long time with mine, really liked it :) -- Ryan Flowers - W7RLF MiscDotGeek.com (
