Laurence, how much power do you get on CW on the affected band and on 40m? Which SA are you using? Can you add another 20db attenuator to see if there is any changes?

Bitx40 audio screech
New build bitx40. Rx audio fine untill? volume control turned way down. Then a horrible screeching sound. Maybe needs a resistor across the volume control to give a min load. Idk what do you guys
