Re: uBITX - A reboot of the old BITX
Ashhar could just change the name to 3904 and CAD , I suppose, permits such
name change.

Yes, but it is about 3x the price that you can get them for from e-bay.
They are available in several colors; I like the blue with white characters.
Also common is red with black letters. The

Thanks all. I was at the local electronics parts store and there was a $9 white backlit display module. It looked similar to ours. What is the specification for a differend display. Will this one

Re: BITX40 PTT Noise
I tried shorting C114 and C110 and didn't do a thing. As a quick check I
desoldered one leg of C114/110 and the kerchunk was greatly reduced. Still
had some change over noise but no where near what it

Re: uBITX - A reboot of the old BITX
Note that T5 and T6 are bifilar 4:1 transformers, not
the trifilar as in the symbol. Another case of BC849'ism.
The 4:1 makes perfect sense since the impedance of the Cohn filter is
about 200 ohms,

1.8 Amps used on Transmit, and a preview for a case I'm working on.
Hello Everyone,
Today I borrowed a Fluke 77 from a friend so I could accurately measure the current draw of my BITX40. On Receive it is about 240ma with the QRP Labs VFO. On Transmit, however, it was

Might pay to check out Rockby too, Paul. I think I got some BC849 from them a year or so ago, at a very good price.

Re: uBITX - A reboot of the old BITX
Those are 2n3904's. ?The schematic shows bc849's because that was the symbol that was handy. ?Somebody needs to email Ashhar a kicad 2n3904 symbol, as he badly needs one.

Ashar, looking at BC849 on Element14. They are in Australia so delivery is only a few days. There are about 6 variants of BC849s which look substantially similar other than hFe which varies from 200

I've got the bitx40v3 infront of me right now. It is 127.12 (side with bitx40v3 label in copper, with P3 and P2, parallel the side with the heatsink) by 114.43, although the heatsink overhangs an
