You are wise to ask questions about this!? Voltmeter or ohmmeter is your friend.?
The outcome implications are so severe that it is wise to check this on any power supply that you aren¡¯t really familiar with to be sure it is wired the way you think it is. ? ? ?

In some of the older radio items it can be reversed or even a mono plug. Most times its + center, GND - on the outside. Having it the other way around can cause a brief short on the device or a power supply and is not normally suggested.
