Fw: ¡®The Masked Singer¡¯ recap:APRIL 23
From: Sharon Pohlman ¡®The Masked Singer¡¯ recap: Pop-rock hitmaker unmasked as final 5 perform the ¡®Soundtrack of My Life¡¯ Denton Davidson Reality TV April 23, 2025 It's "Soundtrack of My Life Night!¡± on The Masked Singer. The top five open the show with a pitch-perfect performance of "More Than a Feeling." Then, the masks will be singing songs with a special meaning to them as Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Rita Ora decipher the clues. One celebrity must reveal themselves while the rest will advance to the semi-finals. Nick Cannon hosts The Masked Singer on Wednesday, April 23 (8 p.m. ET/PT) on Fox. Coral The first secret celeb of the night was Coral, and this is what a former costar of hers had to say: "Coral has come so far since we joined forces six years ago. I'll never forget when we first met ¡ª it was during a huge audition ¡ª and we were both so nervous. We had to do a chemistry read, and part of that was us having to stand really close together and literally just stare into each others' eyes before the scene. So awkward! But, something really special happened in that moment. We became instant BFFs. And, we both got the parts that changed our lives ¡ª together! That same magic is happening here. I've never been more proud to see her owning this stage. I can't wait to watch her rock out tonight!"Coral sang "Sk8er Boi" by Avril Lavigne before revealing that her parents influenced the soundtrack to her life. "They've been there for me through the great times and the really difficult times in my life. I truly would be nowhere without them," she said. The panelists' guesses were Hilary Duff (Rita), Ashley Tisdale (Ken), and Nina Dobrev (Robin). Nessy Nessy was up next, and his daughter gave viewers the inside scoop on the long-necked rocker before he performed: "I'm pretty impressed my dad has made it this far. Maybe it was all those high kicks! But sometimes, he can be expert-level cringe. He's constantly posting on socials. And have you seen his music videos? I almost died when my teacher played one in front of my whole class. And while there's a million things that he does that are like, eye roll, there's also a million reasons why he's the greatest. He makes the best milkshakes, he always helps with homework, and he even taught me how to drive a tractor. Dad, there's a million reasons I love you. Good luck out there. Just don't break a hip, okay!" Nessy sang "Million Reasons" by Lady Gaga before revealing, "There's a million reasons I love my daughter. I did this because I thought she would think it was funny or think it was cringy, but either way I'm winning." The panelists' guesses were John Popper (Ken), Uncle Kracker (Jenny), and Edwin McCain (Robin).Boogie Woogie The third performer was Boogie Woogie, whose wife shared how she helped shape the soundtrack to his life: "I have a case of disco fever watching my hunky husband on that stage. You can tell he is truly having so much fun ¡ª which is my biggest hope for him. I remember how hard he took the loss of his mother. I had never seen him so low. He channeled all of his grief into his writing and he made some of the most inspiring hits because of it. He's inspired my music, too. And, while he'd never mention it himself, I'm here to share that his work has helped so many others process their own grief, overcome illness, and, honestly, some fans have even said saved their lives. He's a light for so many people. I'm so lucky I get to stand in his glow. Boogie, baby, this is your golden hour. Now go out there and get that Golden Mask trophy!" Boogie Woogie sang "Golden Hour" by JVKE before revealing, "This song reminds me of my incredible, lovely Boogie Woogie wife. Especially when we got to sing at sunset at the White House." The panelists guesses were Daniel Powter (Robin), Charlie Puth (Rita), and Brandon Flowers (Jenny).Pearl Up next was Pearl, whose future son-in-law spilled some tea about his soon-t0-be wife's musical mom: "There was no scarier moment in my life than asking Pearl for her daughter's hand in marriage. I even chickened out th

Fw: "Did not do well" - American Idol judge Lionel Richie reveals Carrie's struggles with voting contestants out
From: Sharon Pohlman Soap Central "Did not do well" - American Idol judge Lionel Richie reveals Carrie's struggles with voting contestants out "Did not do well" - American Idol judge Lionel Richie reveals Carrie's struggles with voting contestants out By Preksha, American Idol's April 21 episode, which that released on Monday, Lionel Richie has been vocal about selecting the Top 20 contestants and how hard it was, especially for Carrie Underwood. The rookie judge has joined the show this season. However, she graced the stage herself 20 years ago and won season 4. This makes her empathetic towards the contestants now that she is on the other side, as she understands what goes on with them. This empathy has been creating roadblocks for her when it comes to eliminating the singers with whom she has connected. Lionel said that her first time saying no to someone was disastrous, as they "almost had to stop the show." After the deal was done, she asked Luke Bryan, a fellow judge on the American Idol panel, whether she had to do it again, and he advised her that there were 100 more times to go. According to judge Lionel Richie , Carrie Underwood is not "vicious" at all and brings a loving and caring energy to the show, which has not been seen for decades. He says that she is every bit as sweet and compassionate as her reputation says. In a recent interview with ET, when asked about the challenges with her trying to make a list of the Top 14, Lionel said,"She did not do well. Carrie did not do well. We kept saying, 'Carrie, you have to vote.' She says, 'But I like this one, I like that one.' I said, 'Carrie, you have to vote now.' We took her fingers off of the others, one nail at a time, but it's difficult. The first time, you fall in love with all of them. But then you know you've got to start eliminating, it's terrible. She'll be alright. She'll be okay. Maybe."American Idol judge Lionel Richie opens up about having Carrie Underwood on board with them Lionel and Bryan have never experienced the sweetness that Carrie brings with her on American Idol. Recalling an incident when it was her first time meeting with them for filming, Lionel said that Carrie had brought a basket of goods for them, which had "stewed okra, pickles." At the time, he thought that Carrie must have stopped at the market to pick them up, and it was sweet. However, he later found out that the goods were all homemade, and it was "kind of different" for them. As for Luke, talking to Billboard Magazine, he shared about Carrie saying,"When you look at what she embodies with ¡®American Idol,¡¯ she¡¯s a big time representative of what America¡¯s sweetheart is supposed to be, and she maintains that so amazingly, and she does it by caring like she does and having the kindness with the kids." American Idol season 23 episodes can be watched weekly on Sundays and Mondays at 8 PM Eastern Time on ABC. Later, the episodes are available to stream via Hulu. Mary Live long and prosper

Inspiring Quotes for Wednesday, April 23, 2025
Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known. Sharon Begley These final words in Sharon Begley¡¯s 1977 ¡°Newsweek¡± profile on famed astronomer Carl Sagan have often been misattributed to the scientist himself. But the phrase was actually written by Begley, to summarize Sagan¡¯s interest in exploring the cosmos for electromagnetic waves to determine if extraterrestrial life exists. Begley concludes the profile by admitting that while ¡°there may be no galumphing green Barsoomian giants to satisfy the fantasies of a romantic Brooklyn boy,¡± there was ¡°no doubt¡± that there were ¡°even stranger discoveries to be made. Some totally new phenomenon, perhaps.¡± Begley¡¯s ending statement invites us to remain eternally curious. Our most far-fetched imaginings (galumphing green giants, for example) may pale in comparison to the wonders of what the universe ¡ª and our lives ¡ª hold in store. Mary Live long and prosper

Success is the process itself. Matt Damon Reflecting on his career as an Oscar-winning actor, producer, and screenwriter, Matt Damon recognized that his greatest sense of accomplishment came not from the box office or critics or even awards, but from the process of creating itself. In a 2019 interview with "The Talks," he shared that true fulfillment comes from loving what you do. ¡°It¡¯s really about feeling that I did my best work,¡± he said, ¡°feeling that we told the story we wanted to tell in the way we wanted to tell it.
