Inspiring Quotes for Monday, April 14, 2025
We suffer more often in imagination than in reality. Seneca A prominent Roman philosopher and a notable figure in Stoicism, Seneca recognized the impact our thoughts have on our actions and well-being. The Stoics believed that genuine knowledge is rooted in perception, so they advocated against dwelling on negative possibilities and allowing the imagination to manifest anxieties. Through willpower and rational interpretation, Seneca believed individuals and societies could shift their perspectives away from the what-ifs to keep moving forward.p Mary Live long and prosper

In one of his most famous installations (2014-2018), Eliasson teamed up with geologist Minik Rosing to display fragments of an Arctic iceberg in European cities in order to highlight the climate crisis. His art is very much a product of his surroundings ¡ª the ordinary turned extraordinary. Inspiring Quotes for Friday, April 11, 2025
You make your life meaningful by applying meaning to it. Sheila Heti Sheila Heti is known for her introspective and experimental storytelling, especially in works such as ¡°Motherhood,¡± the critically acclaimed, semi-autobiographical novel that explores her decision on whether or not to have children. This quote echoes her writing¡¯s broader themes of self-exploration and purpose. Taken from an interview with author Natasha Lunn in Lunn¡¯s book ¡°Conversations on Love,¡± Heti suggests the fabled ¡°meaning of life¡± to be a nuanced concept ¡ª as she puts it, ¡°[Life is] not just inevitably meaningful as a result of the choices you¡¯ve made.¡± Much like her books challenge traditional narratives, Heti¡¯s quote upends the idea that meaning is inherent ¡ª we must instead each create it for ourselves.
