Fw: The Masked Singer¡¯ Recap: April 2, 2025

¡®The Masked Singer¡¯ recap: A Grammy-winning superstar unmasked as Group C takes on ¡®Boy Band Night¡¯

  • ?

  • ?April 2, 2025
Boy bands have been around for more than 50 years ¡ª from?the Jackson 5?in the 60s, to?Menudo?and?New Edition?in the '80s. The '90s brought us?Boyz II Men,?Backstreet Boys, 'NSync, and?B2K?¡ª which led into the new millennium's?One Direction,?Jonas Brothers, and?BTS. Tonight,???is paying tribute to all of them in "Boy Band Night."
The Group C semi-finalists take the stage as panelists?,?,?, and?
dissect the clues hoping to uncover which of your favorite stars are behind the wacky masks.?Nick Cannon?hosts the zany fun airing Wednesday, April 2 (8 p.m. ET/PT) on Fox. Find out who was unmasked below.

Nessy

Resident rocker Nessy has a history with one boy band in particular ¡ª and here's what he had to say about it: "This is so unexpected. I never thought I'd be singing a boy-band song, but look at me ¡ª I'm committed to the bit and I love a good theme night. Back in the height of the boy-band days, music was so competitive. I was fighting these guys for?TRL?spots, charts and CD sales ¡ª but there was one boy band that kept getting in my way: 'NSync. We always seemed to be neck-and-neck and it tore up my heart when those boys constantly came out on top. So when we faced off at a celebrity golf tournament, I knew it was my time to settle the feud once and for all. Then I played the worst game of my life ¡ª I crashed and burned. While they may have had a better score, I got to raise a glass with those guys and we had a pretty good time. I realized, just being in the game is huge. What a cool club we're all part of. Now, all these years later, I kind of miss that friendly competition, which is why I'm loving being here. So this one's for you, 'NSync. Can't wait to hear you guys try singing one of my songs next."

Nessy sang 'NSync's "Tearin' Up My Heart" before Chris Kirkpatrick made a surprise appearance, launching merch with a heart from a T-shirt cannon. Nessy responded, "Just like the boy-banders, I was also known for my love songs." The panelists' guesses were?Dave Matthews?(Rita),?Darius Rucker?(Jenny), and?Pat Monahan?from?Train?(Ken).

Stud Muffin

Next up, Stud Muffin was ready to mix things up and dropped a few more clues about his true identity: "Listen up! I'm going to bake up a little history on boy bands for you. Pay attention, Jenny. Before NKOTB, BSB, and 'NSync, it started with crooners like the Temptations, the Four Tops ¡ª who inspired groups like New Edition, Boyz II Men, Bel Biv DeVoe. Now, I may not be in a boy band, but I know what it means to be part of a brotherhood. We grew up together, blew up together, and there was no limit to what we could do. But when you've got a good thing going, people try to poison it. At the end of the day, nothing can come between me and my team. Now tonight, I'm singing a song for one of my favorite groups. They once sent me a birthday message, so this is my gift to them."

Stud Muffin performed "Poison" by Bel Biv DeVoe before Omarion surprised the panelists and launched a t-shirt listing these secret ingredients: a dash of sugar, a sprinkle of flour, and a Grammy of gold. Stud Muffin responded, "All the ingredients were there. I'm extra proud of this one." The panelists' guesses were?MC Hammer?(Jenny),?2 Chainz?(Ken), and?Method Man?(Rita).

Yorkie

Yorkie was next to howl on stage, but first had this to say about her new "leash" on life: "Sure, the boy band golden era was fabulous, but nothing makes headlines more than a boy band scandal ¡ª and honey, I know a thing or two about that myself. When this New Yorkie broke onto the scene, baby I was adored! Until I found myself wrapped up in a major scandal ¡ª paying for someone else's choices. Someone I loved. My name was in the news, the gossip sites, and even on billboards around town. And let's be totally real ¡ª I was dragged through the dirt. But, I stayed true to myself and did everything I could to keep my chin up. I'm most proud of that. And, as it always does, the truth came out. Life can be messy, love can be messier, but you can also survive. Once you have a strong foundation, you can rebuild step by step and come out stronger. I'm proof of that."

Yorkie sang "Step by Step" by?New Kids on the Block?before her t-shirt that read, "Touring Up My Heart" was launched into the panel. The cool canine responded, "My life has been a comedy and a tragedy, but right now it's real good. I've been around ¡ª all around the world." The panelists' guesses were?Teresa Giudice?(Ken),?Paris Hilton?(Rita), and?Erika Jayne?(Jenny).

Mad Scientist Monster

Last to perform was Mad Scientist Monster, who shared some personal details about how he relates to boy bands: "Everybody loves a hunky boy-bander, but there's more beneath the frosted tip surface ¡ª at the core boy bands are about chemistry. I know a little something about that. When I met my boo, it was a festive fall evening, gathered around a full Friendsgiving table. When our hands brushed passing the cranberry sauce, sparks flew. I swear, right then and there I knew I'd marry that girl someday. But seasons passed, until one sweltering summer day we reconnected. I serenaded her until her bunsens were burnin'. I made her a promise I'd never leave her side ¡ª for better or worse. Now here's an epic boy band song for that woman I made a promise to ¡ª my wife."

Mad Scientist Monster sang "I Swear" by?All-4-One?before his special T-shirt revealed the acronyms "BTS" and "BSB." He responded, "It's an honor to have won the same award as both Backstreet Boys and BTS." The panelists' guesses were?Alan Jackson?(Robin),?Tim McGraw?(Jenny), and?Keith Urban?(Rita).

The Elimination

Following the audience vote, Stud Muffin was eliminated from the competition. Before he revealed himself, the panelists got to open up a "Crack the Case" clue case. Stud Muffin's case held a street sign that said "Stud Muffin District." The complex carb responded, "They named a whole street after us ¡ª me and my crew." The panelists then submitted their final guesses: MC Hammer (Jenny), Method Man (Rita), 2 Chainz (Ken), and Method Man (Robin). Stud Muffin finally peeled off his mask and revealed himself?as Grammy-winning rapper Method
