July Tandem rides

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

?Hi all,

We have two tandem ride opportunities (so far!) in July.

Happy riding,
Laurie and Ed

Saturday July 15 @ 9:00, 39 miles - Three covered bridges
Ride Start:
Monocacy Middle School
8009 Opossumtown Pike
Frederick, MD 21702

Join us for the 3 Covered Bridges ride. This ride is a long time club favorite and passes through three covered bridges in Frederick County, MD. The terrain is rolling and near perfect for tandems, with approximately 1800 ft of elevation change over 39 miles. There are several parks along the route where we will regroup and take rest breaks. There are at least three restrooms along the route, and we plan to stop at the High's convenience store in Thurmont.

There are no restrooms at the ride start. Suggest using the restrooms at the Weis Grocery Store about 1 mile away.

Ride with GPS:

Ride Leaders: Dave and Julie Harper
Dave - 703-608-8416

Tuesday July 18 @ 9:00, 29 miles - Blueberries and Barrens
Ride start:
Batsto Village
31 Batsto Rd
Hammonton, NJ 08037

Join us for our annual trip over to enjoy blueberry season in the "Blueberry capitol of the world", Hammonton, NJ.? We will use quiet roads that go past acres of blueberries and a bit of the NJ Pinelands National Reserve.? Note that if there is an opportunity to see a blueberry harvester up close we will stop for a picture!? There are plenty of farms to visit for fresh blueberries to bring home.

Ride with GPS:

Ride leaders: Ed and Laurie Barr
Laurie - 703-909-3226

BW coord:

I am thinking about our October ride I lead. Would most people be amenable to riding on the C&O canal?

Hi Ethan,

We think the C&O would be good. We certainly ride it and know of some other teams that go as well.?

Thanks for leading!

Laurie and Ed?
