My first real success was a Wilderness Sierra that I built back in 1996.? I've been hooked ever since.? For the past year or so I have been running a Hermes Lite with Thetis and have been totally amazed by what it can do. ? I have absolutely no formal electronics knowledge and have always just figured stuff out at my own pace.? Hi David: You might also want to join our site, too. (/g/SoftwareControlledHamRadio) There is a boatload of information there plus a lot of stuff in the Wiki and Files sections that might be of interest. Al and I are the originators of the T41 and we just finished the final update on a book about it: You don't need to buy the book as most of the T41 info is on the site. However, most people think it's a pretty good intro to DSP with a "minimal math" discussion of what makes SDR's work. Read some of the reviews of the book and see what you think. The second edition has about 150 reviews, but this update to the 3rd Ed. just came out about two seeks ago. Enjoy!! Jack, W8TEE
