Hello
According to the photos, a Stockton bridge must be replaced to bigger core , everything else should to hold 150W
|
Hello,
?
I have an ATU-100 and am happy with the operation. I like to derate my tuners so I will run a max of 80 watts SSB with my ATU-100.
?
I saw this ATU-130:
?
?
It states it is a 150 watt tuner. Has anyone used it or have any opinions on this unit? Does it use the same processor as the AT-100? I would be running a maximum of 100 watts SSB or CW with this tuner?
?
Any feedback is appreciated? I'd like to order it from PRIME so that I can return it. Does anyone recommend any other PRIME store?
?
73,
?

Re: ATU100M fail at start?
Hello David, thanks very muy for your indications, I installed a 2k7 resistor and the problem is solved!

|
Not following, Robbie. I do that regularly but the amp trips anyway because the ATU is mismatching the input impedance. I'll try Mike N2MS attenuator solution.
Do you have any attenuators to suggest?

My KPATU 500 will do the same thing. I avoid this by driving the amp with 5 watts on FM /AM / RITTY? then when it’s happy turn up the power as much as I need to.
You just need to find what your combination likes.
Best regards, Robbie

It sounds like the input impedance to your amplifier is not 50 ohms and the 7300 does not like it. I would try a 1dB attenuator circuit between the 7300 and amp. it will drop your power about 10 watts but your amplifier probably does not require 100 watts for full output.

Re: ATU-100 Board Question on FT-897
Hi, Mike
Absolutely no problems with upside down mount.
Also, this tuner can work with disconnected display, you can check? power and SWR on the rig's display as usual.
I would keep the Tune button somewhere for tuner reset ability.

Re: ATU-100 Board Question on FT-897
I am still studying how to mount the ATU-100 Board in my Yaesu FT-897 Battery compartmemt. There are hole in the rear of the battery panel so I can mount the display and switches through these holes.
?
The battery compartment is at the bottom of the radio. are there any issues mounting the ATU-100 upside down?

Re: duff aliexpress tuner
Hi all,
In this topic, the first thing to check... the dir and rev voltages. If they are not there, it is almost certainly a break in the secondary of the transformer (of one turn) from which DIR and REV are extracted. Someone brought me such a tuner bought from China, applied power... did not measure anything; it was set to TUNE mode... did not start tuning. The defect was a bad soldering in tandem match.

Hi, Cal
SWR like 0.00 means it is unknown or impossible to measure, if input power near 0 an example.

Hi .
There is no activation resistors so the most typeC chargers will not work. Use any typeA cable an chargers. That is not a big problem, you will need to do that once at year or twice.

David's the expert (I've never even looked at the source code) but it seems to me that the invalid '0' SWR reading/display means something and I'm not surprised that it won't tune. Can you control the relays in test mode and get a relay response or something other than zero SWR on the display? I suspect there are Stockton bridge faults that might produce a '0' SWR on the display.

I'm new to the N7DDC tuner. All of my experience has been helping Sardar as a beta tester of his QRP-Laps QMX+ABS implementation of the ATU, but I've built and experimented (hacked) my two builds to near death by wearing out the copper lands and plated through holes on my two PCBs with all my experiments and testing.

Only the PCB copper can be edited, it seems, so the BOM and pos csv files must be manually generated (and I got bored with generating them very quickly)!
