I meant Lynn not Steve!
Many APRS authors over the years.
I started with winaprs, then uiview, then xastir, now aprsis32.
i never used the wb4apr client.

I believe that all ham radio related software should be open source as much as possible and that github/aprs foundation is the right way to go.

by the way, APRSIS32 seems to work just fine under wine on Linux. No need for a linux port.
I use fedora but I am sure other distributions will work as well.

I also want to pass my condolences to Steve's family.

I started with Bob's DOS client back in the 90's. It was really nice to see all the clients evolve after the DOS version.

Rumors of my demise!
That is a first for me!
My expiration date got rubbed off its container....<GRIN>
In reality at almost 70 years of age? a lot of my older friends like many others are vanishing fast and as you get older
you start to speed time up, My goal is to remain in this group as it's admin/moderator? until my new boss's fire my butt
or I leave due to the poor pay and long hours, New group owner, our late group owner's son KG4DXK, has assured me that this Year would see a 1.5% pay increase!
Our other Brand new co-owner Jeff? W4JEW does not know yet about the upcoming strike action for increased pay back dated to my beginning of being a ham!

I am sure the source code responses are? extremely valuable to the owners as they seek all input in this area, and I have not seen nor do not expect any negative responses,
But as more see the ones posted thus far more "Detail and ideas" have been flowing in, Keep the coming until Paul or Jeff tell ya to stop!

Please keep these on topic as I see us talking about other client software, The subject remains about aprsisce32 source code and the variants in use such as MO and so on ONLY THOSE developed by its late author Lynn Deffenbaugh KJ4ERJ SK

I for the most part will be going back to monitoring the group unless? requested by the owners or a direct question to myself.

I am the only fully retired member of the team so accept my pay is not commensurate to the hours I devote to this group.
Peanuts were offered but declined due to shipping costs to my location.

I am shocked to realise that we are just 7 days from Christmas day, this last year went by too fast, I know life goes on as normal for?
the rest of the World, so please accept the season's greetings from myself, and for those I have helped and those who help me, I thank you!

My own Christmas is usually a modest affair, but especially muted for me at the loss of Lynn Deffenbaugh KJ4ERJ SK.
My thoughts remain for him and his family, RIP Sir! I am still awaiting your APRS coordinates for a meeting to come!

End message
