Thanks for your question, Liese.
?
I did a Google search for "Glenn Chestnut Jim Burwell early AAs first famous atheist."
This is what popped up on Google:
PDF
Atheism, Moral Psychology, and the Deus Non Vocatus in Early Alcoholics Anonymous. Jim Burwell: early AA's first famous atheist by Glenn F. Chesnut.
?
The link above leads to a pdf which doesn't have any viruses attached according to my computer.
?
Perhaps this is the document you were thinking of.
The document is 7 pages long.
Hoping that attaching the document is permissible in this group.

thank you so much all of you. Will silkworth.info and??be up again? so sad to see two extremely important websites go offline. I do hope someone has archived the files though.?

kind regards Liese

[Moderator note: I do indeed have copies of both sites and at least one of them is being worked on as I get time. :) -Thom]

Is separate?from (which?seems to be up and running, though heavily laden with ads)?

[Moderator comment: Yes, it is. Long story as to what happened but the new person running silkworth.net is now trying to make money from it. Yes, mistakes were made. There's a lot going on in the background and AAHL is trying to help. Fingers crossed. -Thom]

And is still available

[Moderator note: Yes but it's now being run by a rather nasty person who is trying to use it as a money grab. The reason that silkworth.info is down is because this person attacked it with "DMCA takedown requests" and had the silkworth.info forced offline so that the silkworth.net (that they purchased from the old owner and yes, that was the mistake, the old owner believed that he was giving the site to someone who would care for it, not exploit it) version of the site can stay up... but with lots of very shady ads and web bugs. Forcing silkworth.info offline was cruel and the new .net owner should not be benefitting from this in my view.... but currently they are benefitting in very shady ways. And YES this is all on topic for AAHL. It leads straight to some important sources for our research being available, accessible and not corrupted by opportunists. What can be more important than that? -Thom]

Thanks for the background, Thom, on the goings on with silkworth dot net.
I wondered if something seriously had happened of late to the website with all the ads and web bugs I encountered that I swore had not been there before.
I thought it was just me.
That's really really sad to hear.
