I am working on a Craftsman 109 metal lathe 21270. I am wondering if anyone knows what the gear mounted on the back of the spindle is called or the part number. My lathe has a damaged gear ( this would be the gear needing removal

First, in the future please DO NOT put your entire message in the message Subject area. Not only does this limit the length of your message to 255 characters, but it makes it quite troublesome for anyone to read what little you can write without first hitting the REPLY button. So limit your Subject to no more than 40 to 60 characters. Now, the part number of the gear you are looking for is A-3221, and the description from the parts list is Spindle Gear. The only thing that I can tell you about that gear is that it is probably a 32T gear. I do not have an AA lathe to look at, so I can't tell you what the ID details are. I would guess that there is a good chance of Boston or some other gear manufacturer making a gear that you can modify to work. But you will need to know the Diametral Pitch (DP) and the Pressure Angle (PA) before you start looking through a catalog. If you asked any other question, I cannot read it because of where you put your message. Robert Downs Moderator -----Original Message-----

I think you have the wrong guy, I didn't send that message. I haven't sent a message to this group in years, if ever! Gary On Sun, Apr 28, 2019 at 11:26 PM Robert Downs via Groups.Io <wa5cab=[email protected]> wrote: Gary, |
