Reviews of Capt. Tolley's
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi, Campers --
I'm looking for reviews of Capt. Tolley's Creeping Crack Cure, particulary for
its use on Aliner's OEM caulk/sealant. Messages here provided nothing
specific, and locating leaks has proven impossible, but I'm willing to try a $25
gambit on it. Pre-emptively replacing all seals is to be avoided at all costs!
Has anybody on this list had success with it? Is it applied just to caulked
edges, or must the entire caulked area be coated?
TIA

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHello Alex: I have used Capt. Tolley's for years to fix loose floor tiles in my house. Rather than tearing up loose tiles, cleaning out mortar and grout I just mark loose tiles with chalk. Trolley's comes with a dripper spout that lets out a drop at a time. I run the spout around the edge of the tile where I can see a crack. If it really is a crack you see the liquid disappear and you can see the crack. I keep filling the crack for a minute or two, then repeat the next day. When I check a few days later the tile is solid, and perhaps leak free. It is not a floor I flood with water, so I'm not sure. Lots cheaper and easier than replacement. For the camper, look for crack where Trolley's can seep in, it will do nothing on the surface. The only part of our camper I worry about leaking are the roof panels. The plastic sky light cracks I used plastic solvent glue, it sinks in like trolley's, but it melts the plastic back together. Good luck,

2017 Classic - crack developed on rear skylight corner.? I tried Capt Tolleys with no success.? It has very little viscosity and and seeped into crack as advertised.? I let dry and repeated application as directed perhaps 3 or 4 times but it never stopped the leak - it did minimize it though.? I ended up putting Eternabond tape on corner and problem solved.? This was over 2 years ago and 18k miles.? Perhaps not the most aesthetically pretty remedy but it work and that is my bottom line.? I ended up putting the tape on the top corners of all the skylights as a preventative measure?

I tried the Tolley's as well when mine leaked.? It didn't work for me either.? I ultimately replaced my skylight.? But I guess I need a roll of eternabond in my tool arsenal. -- Don DeRyke Sunrise, Florida 2009 Classic, 2020 Ford Escape, 2.0 liter EcoBoost, AWD.?
