A life changing event, Vlad/Lucy

He hated the fact he'd had to make the choice he had only hours ago. He hated not turning Ilona...no now she was Mina...Turning her himself. It had been harder than he'd imagined to bet on Katherina saving her so he could use her against them, but he had to. His brother had to be stopped and most importantly of all to pay and he knew Ilona would've wanted to be a pat of that. He was part of the reason she'd been lost him centuries ago along with everything else.
?
?
If Katerina hadn't saved her he would've interceded. He just hoped she believed that. And now for a peace offering.? He'd heard her telling Katerina she'd gotten lost on the street, tipsy she had gotten separated from her friend, Lucy...and he tracked the woman by scent, because hers still clung to Mina, the two having spent enough time together.
?
He watched her walking for a moment, then slid up behind her, a stocky bearded man in gentleman's clothing. Extending a gloved hand, he touched her elbow lightly before hastily dropping his hand away.? To speak to a lady out on the street and alone was the height of social inappropriateness but under the circumstances he believed he could get away with it.
?
"Excuse me, are you Lucy? Your friend Mina was injured and is looking for you," he said, Transilvanian accent heavy around each word.

As Lucy Westenra trudged home from a night out, she pondered the nights events, for what they were. She had arrived at the place where her and Mina had decided to go for a few drinks but as the night ?had continued, she and Mina had been separated in the dark.?
She had tried to find her but to no avail, so resignedly, she left and was on her way home when she felt a light touch on her elbow and then a mans voice asking her name and something about Mina being injured. At his words, she spun around. "yes, i'm Lucy Westenra, where's mina?"?

"Yes she was stabbed," Vlad told Lucy.
?
"She is recovering, but she was asking for you. I can take you to her if you will come with me."
?
If she wouldn't trust him, he had other plans, but for Ilona...no Mina's sake he would attempt to treat her friend well. It would give him an opportunity as well. A unique one to learn more of his Mina in this incarnation. Perhaps her likes and dislikes did not matter in the larger scheme but it could be interesting to learn of them.

At this news, Lucy was frantic and her first thought was to get to Mina as soon as possible. The question was should she go with this man, a complete stranger, or continue onwards? How could she go home now? Her best friend needed her and what sort of a friend would she be if she ignored her request?
"Ok then, i'll go, where is she?”

"I'll show you," vlad said.

He walked a respectful distance away while remaining close enough not to have the girl stray in the dark. He led her to the small house he'd rented, also downtown it was several blocks away, around a fifteen minute walk at the annoying speed which mortals had to move. Doing so himself took a concerted effort and most of his focus.
"So...Mina..." he asked. "What does she want from life, do you know?"

He knew the question sounded odd but was unable to resist the urge to learn anything he could use to help him...to win her he supposed. He hadn't had to try before and she had somehow seemed to recognize him when he'd thrown the dagger from across the room. He knew once he explained, she'd be glad to help him take his enemies down. At least Ilona would've and she looked so similar it had nearly made him freeze in place when he'd seen her there. Of course history seemed to have repeated itself as she was once more in the clutches of his enemy...But this time he'd played it better, he hoped at least.

As they walked, she answered his question. “I’m not sure, she’s never told me. Most likely, she’ll want to settle down with someone eventually.”

Vlad nodded, keeping his face composed.

"Indeed. What all nice young ladies want these days, it seems. What of you? What is it that you want?"

They turned down another sidestreet and approached nicer upscale neighborhood.

In response to Vlad's inquiry, Lucy smiled and replied. "Wel, i am in no hurry to meet someone yet."

"What if you could have immortality? Strength and power above mortals," Vlad asked, keeping his tone light and curious as he turned down the path toward a house.
"How would you feel about that?"

He didn't even glance at Lucy as he moved up to the door of the house, and rattled the knob. IT was locked. Annoyed, he knocked. To be fair he hadn' said he was coming.

"Immortality? more strength than mortals." Lucy laughed, patronisingly. "The way you talk, i think you've been reading too many fantasy novels. Anyway, enough about me, we're here to find mina. where are we anyway?"

A flash of anger flared in Vlad's eyes, though he forced himself to calm.

"We are at the home of friends," he replied and banged on the door, annoyed, when the knob did not turn.

Before long a young woman with long dark hair opened the door, a slight frown on her face.

"What do you want?"

"Are you aware how many people die for speaking to me like that," Vlad snapped pushing bast her.

"Sorry, Sariel," she replied with a sigh.

"I am sorry because you keep forgetting that you need me...us. What is she doing here and..."

"Leave us," he interrupted the dark haired woman and in one swift gesture, drew Lucy hard into his arms, hungrily sinking her teeth into her throat.

Were Lucy to be of a mind to observe, she may notice that the woman only stared for a moment without changing expression before turning and calmly leaving the room.

Lucy thought this stranger rather rude and quick to anger when at last, the door was opened and they went inside and he'd spoken sharply to the woman. Then, all of a sudden, he was grabbing her and, this couldn't be happening, and then to her horror, he sank his teeth into her throat. She screamed, a blood curdling sound, but the vampire merely carried on regardless. Lucy continued to struggle frantically and shreik but it was no use, and then, as is bound to happen when so much blood has been lost, she fell into oblivion

"Why can't you do that more quietly," Keres complained dispassionately.

"It's annoying when stupid girls start in screaming."

Other than a dark look, thevampire ignored her as he opened his wrist and dripped blood into Lucy's mouth.

"I hope your woman doesn't mind her little present that she didn't ask for," Keres added.

"And thank you for asking how my day was," she said tartly.

"I found a new member for our little organization. An interesting one I can use against someone so it's extra special."

"Here is where I pretend to care because it doesn't serve me," Vlad asked.

"Yes."

He sighed and carried Lucy into the sitting room laying her on a velvet couch.

"I need her somewhere dark for 3 days. The basement. Please don't let anything eat her while she's inert."

Keres shrugged.

"I should be able to manage that."

OOC Feel free to skip ahead the 3 days for her to wake.

Lucy Westenra awoke as if from a coma, one moment she was having a dream about a prospective suitor and the next, without warning, she started to stir. Her eyes opened and she stared around confused. Trying to place her surroundings was no use, but where was she?
Then it hit her. Mina had been stabbed! a man had betrayed her and, but how could he? She was awake so perhaps it didn't happen after all. But she knew that it had happened and pretending it hadn't was useless. But vampires weren't real, were they? So why was she feeling so hungry and the only thing she wanted right now was blood?
She got up gingerly from the hard, tiled floor but it was so dark in there that she was unable to see where she was.
Just as she had decided to explore, she heard footsteps coming from the floor above and waited.
The footsteps continued and then the door opened, she moved away instinctively, perhaps in anticipation of more attacks.

"'ello there," a gruff street accented male voice called.

It was tinged with nervousness and a mild scent of his fear was in the air.

"Is you awake down there, then, Miss? You'll be wantin' to eat or drink or whatever...I can help so long as it isn't me...I'm valuable, I am."

Cylas enjoyed helping Elisabeth Frankenstein kill, but this one made him nervous.
Though both women were discovering what they were, Elisabeth wasn't likely to tear his throat out.

"Mr. Renfield told me to help you get some food," he explained, before realizing she'd not know who that was, but did it truly matter?

“Yes, i’m awake now. Lets go then”
As Sylas turned away as if to make for the staircase, she charged at him. He whirled round at the sound of her footsteps, then turned back and ran. Big mistake. Lucy increased her speed effortlessly, grabbed him from behind, turned him to face her then let go. “You’re lucky i have other things on my mind today. Now, foolish man, go before you have cause to regret staying in my company. I can manage from here.”

"No. I ain't supposed to let you out alone,"Cylas said, reaching to grasp Lucy's slender wrist.
"Now you just behave Miss o I'll be gettin' in trouble and I can't be havin' that again."

He recalled captain Dance's last threats and Keres's uncaring reaction and the little one, Renfield or Sackler, or whatever 'is name was this week calling him human vermin... He had Cyclops blood he did and he deserved better treatment.

"Do you even know what you is now," he asked, giving Lucy a sly look.

“I suppose you had better accompany me to find the owners of this place.” Lucy westenra responded in feigned politeness with a sneer , sarcasm evident. “It is none of your business. In any case,” the vampire sighed derisively, “i think so. Anyway, i thought we had to be somewhere.”
So saying, she snatched her hand away from the mans, took his arm and walked up the rest of the steps and in to the kitchen.

"Help,"CYlas bellowed as the far smaller girl dragged him up the stairs.
Though he was big and muscular she was a vampire and damn it monsters had gotten the better of him too much of late.

"I"m about tired of him,"Keress grumbled.

She was a tall willowy young woman with long dark hair. A slender shorter man sat across from her, his hair nearly a white blonde.

"Master and Mistress...Dracula's new little friend is awake and angry,"Cylas said, fear dripping along with frantic warning from his voice.

"Then go get her someone to eat," Keres said, irritated.
"Yes," the small man added.
"Do you forget how to show a guest proper hospitality, cylas?"

"I reckon I do," Cylas said miserably as he attempted to pull away from Lucy.
"Please miss, I am to bring you someone to eat."

"Where is his backbone, Love," the slight man asked Keres.
"Did Dance break him?"

"Only a little, I think. He will mend," Keres replied with a smile.
"Mr. Sackler...Lobster boy did get vicious he did,"Cylas babbled in way of self defense.
"That was last week. You survived and no one cares," the little man replied waving him away.

"Good evening, Miss Westenra. I do hope you slept well," he said, then gave a chuckle as if amused by his own wit.

Lucy kept replaying the events leading up to when she’d blacked out desperately trying to make sense of them. Was she correct in her assumption? Logically she knew it wasn’t possible. Vampires didn’t exist. But, of course, when the man had asked whether she’d known what she’d become she’d claimed to have some idea. Perhaps it was something in the manner in which he’d asked that made her less than willing to admit she wasn’t certain of the answer.

The slender blonde was seemingly unaware she’d all but dragged the man up the stairs with her though his pleas for help hadn’t gone entirely unnoticed. She froze slightly when in the company of the others finding it a little difficult to focus on much else aside from the growing hunger she felt. But her previous concerns with regards to Mina returned with a vengeance as she stood there.

According to her attacker her dear friend had been stabbed. But was that all just a ploy to get her here? She’d been such a fool to take a perfect stranger at his word. Perhaps last night’s events would prove to simply be an alcohol induced nightmare that she’d wake up from at any moment. Soon she’d find herself sitting around the table with Mina as they discussed Jonathan and her own suitors.

“Dracula?” She repeated the odd sounding name thinking it must be the ill tempered man who’d brought her here in the first place. It took a moment for her to realize the woman had said ‘someone to eat’ instead of ‘something to eat’ but once she caught on it brought about a whole slew of other concerns.

Lucy quickly released her grip on his arm as if suddenly realizing she’d still had ahold of him. “Good evening. I don’t believe I know you.” Sleep? Had she been asleep or was she still? It was so hard to tell as none of this could be real.

(ooc: figured I’d jump in here since it’s been frighteningly enough almost two years since the last post in this thread. I assume the player ghosted. Anyway figure Lucy wouldn’t know it’d been three days since Vlad turned her.)
