Locked Re: Late Night Lab Work (Victor/Elizabeth)

? ? "Oh your washing my hair very well.? That feel so nice actually.??
Seems we have quite a big house.? He's probably in the lab right now.??
Does he ever venture to other parts of the house except for sleeping I?
wonder," she said and chuckled.? "It was always hard to get him away?
from his work.? I'm sure you know he's quite driven which is a good?
thing but I've always valued leisure time as well.? My main interests?
don't lie with science but I plan to study more of it now," she?
admitted.? Her stomach growled again and she laughed nervously.? "Excuse?
me, I'm just so hungry," she admitted.

Well, Heidi began, The house consists of the basement, where Dr. Victor keeps his lab, which I am told is a smaller version of the one a few blocks away which he uses, above that is the servants quarters where we live. ?As for servants, she continued, there are five of us, but we usually don¡¯t all work at the same time; there is Gregory, he is the Butler, and James is one of the cooks, Marta is also a cook, and Dora and I are usually maids, but we can also cook. ?It is a real pleasure to work for him, and I am reasonably certain it will be an equal pleasure to serve you as well, in fact, she continued with a smile, as she rubs the shampoo into Elizabeth¡¯s hair, it already is; please don¡¯t hesitate to tell me if my hair washing is too brisk, or too fast.

God loves you.

? ? ? "I'll use the rose shampoo this time.? It feels so good to take a?
nice long soak.? So tell me about this place, how many servants are?
there and do you live here," she asked closing her eyes so she'd not get?
shampoo in them.

Locked Re: Late Night Lab Work (Victor/Elizabeth)

True to her word, Heidi remained nearby, as if she knew Elizabeth would require her assistance at some point. ?She had not stayed immediately by the door, knowing that she could run fairly fast, and this soon was evident, for within seconds after Elizabeth called, Heidi was giving a soft knock on the bathroom door, before entering. ?She nodded to Elizabeth¡¯s request for assistance with washing her hair, very well my lady, which shampoo would you prefer? There is Rose, Daffodil, and¡, She took the lid off another bottle, and sniffed, strawberry I do believe this is, she commented. Which one of these would you prefer my lady? ?She would await a response before gently taking Elizabeth¡¯s head in her hands, and wetting the hair, preparing to add the shampoo.

God loves you.

? ? ?Elizabeth took her time soaping herself all over and luxuriating?
in the feel of the bathing cloth against her skin. She wondered if she'd?
need to ask Victor for something to make her sleep.? On one hand she was?
tired.? On the other hand she was paralyzed at the thought of dreaming.??
Dreaming of where she'd been before.? She thought it likely she'd have?
some nightmares about it and she'd do a lot to avoid feeling that place?
again even for a moment.? She called out for Heidi realizing she would?
rather have someone else wash her hair.? At least it felt normal, she?
thought.

???? "I find myself needing assistance with washing my hair," she said?
to Heidi when she reappeared.? "Everything smells so lovely in here,"?
she added.? "So do you live in the house or stay somewhere else," she?
asked.? There was no reason for her not to be friendly to the servants?
and Elizabeth was well aware she knew nowhere in the world but Victor.??
Now that was a sobering thought to only know one person in the entire world.

Locked Re: Late Night Lab Work (Victor/Elizabeth)

Your husband is indeed a kind man, Heidi replied to Elizabeth, nodding when she said she required no further assistance at that time; if you should need anything at all, you have only to call me, she reassured, before politely bowing and taking her leave. ?Meanwhile, Victor had gone down to the basement of the home, figuring that Elizabeth would likely take quite a while for her first bath. The basement was a rather smaller version of his other lab, but in this lab, he usually concentrated on making more personal things, perfumes, soaps and the like. He had made quite a few already, figuring that he would someday bring his beloved wife back to life. Now he concentrated on a mixture of rose, lavender, hyacinth, and Daffodil. He made several bars of soap with the separate fragrances, before combining a bit of each together, and in hailing a pleasant, almost heady aroma; I think that should work well enough, he murmured to himself, as he began the preparation for a perfume, and for more bars of soap, I think she will like this just as well, if not better than the single fragrances. ?His soft German accent was not heavy or unpleasant at all, rather, it was quite lilting, as he actually hummed a Melody of his own, it would soon be apparent to all the change that his Elizabeth had brought in his life. Not only had he brought her back to life, he had also re-created life for himself.

God loves you.

? ? ?"My husband has always been kind to me.? I went to live with his?
family when my parents died when I was a child.? No I need nothing?
further at this time and thank you for your assistance," Elizabeth said?
to Heidi.? Calling Victor her husband felt odd at least at the moment.??
She sank into the water not thinking at the moment only feeling the hot?
water on her skin.? She used the soap liberally inhaling deeply.? Her?
stomach growled loudly and she laughed.? She knew what the next activity?
would be.? She wouldn't rush this bath though.? There was so much she?
wanted to know about her and about Victor.? She reminded herself there?
would be plenty of time for questions.? Victor had give her a lot to?
live up to according to Heidi she thought ruefully.? She felt like this?
was a dream in some ways.? So far it was a nice one if complicated.

Re: Family Drama (Mircea/Nadia)

"I doubt he'd be that obvious," Mercia said dismissively of their father and the implied possibility of an affair.
?
His expression was more thoughtfully considering than concerned as he walked along at his sister's side.
?
?
"Perhaps there is some sort of trouble that he, for whatever reason, is attempting to handle alone. Though why he'd not at least bring his sons into it..."
?
Or his daughters either for that matter as they were all tough enough. Girls were girls but the girls of Vlad Tepes were still? Tepes blooded and thus tough.
?
"Unless he's helping someone else in their trouble and thus keeping their secret," he continued to muse once they were properly alone on the night street.
?
?
People were in sight but not in ear shot and he spoke quietly.
?
?
"Perhaps he owes someone a favor and is paying with aid and silence," he speculated.
?
"If I happen to see him, I'll simply ask," he said with a wink, hoping to lighten his sister's mood.

Family Drama (Mircea/Nadia)

¡°I suppose that to a certain extent my own interactions are a bit¡limited.¡± Nadia hardly made a point of intentionally avoiding others it simply worked out where most of her conversations happened to be with either family or those who served them. ¡°Though I suppose that has more to do with our father's desire to keep us all close.¡±
?
One eyebrow lifted so slightly it was barely even noticeable as she looked to her brother. //Hardly the point.// Resisting the temptation to respond by sticking her tongue out at him as they weren't alone and it might draw attention to the fact the two of them were carrying on a private conversation.
?
She said her farewell before departing with her brother, waiting until they had gotten a little distance from the Black Bess then with a sidelong glance she began. ¡°It may be nothing but¡our mother seems to be growing increasingly distant while father remains so wrapped up in¡politics that he either doesn't notice or perhaps doesn't care.¡±
?
When someone passed a little too close she fell silent not particularly wishing their conversation to be overheard, only resuming once at a safe distance. ¡°I imagine it doesn't help matters that of all places he brought the family to Teja¡¯ari¡¯s territory and since arriving in London we barely see him.¡±
?
Would Mircea reach the same conclusion? Or perhaps he'd be able to convince her there was nothing for her to be worried about.?

"Oh,you are most welcome, Mistress," Hidey told Elizabeth when she thanked her; she did, however, look surprised to hear that the new lady of the house would not need help with bathing.? She smiled when Elizabeth asked how long she had worked there.? "I have been working for Master Doctor Victor for the past three and one-half years, Ma'am, she replied, her expression filled with pride, "It is...such a pleasure to work for him, and I am surprised about the soaps as well, but you probably know him better than anyone, so you know how kind and thoughtful he is, always prepared, and he has told us nothing but good things about you, how wonderful you are, how he believes you to be the very essence of life itself, how that one day you would come back, and all would be well again."? She averted her eyes, as Elizabeth undressed, not because of fear of her looks, but because it would be inappropriate to watch the lady of the house undress.? She smiled as Elizabeth sank into the tub.? "If you do not require my aid, Mistress, I shall, with your permission, humbly take my leave, but I?shall be?nearby, should you need me for anything at all."? She would await and watch, but if there were ?no further response from Elizabeth, Hidey would bow, then take her leave from the bathing room.

?"Oh no I won't need help with bathing but thank you.? I can't?
believe with all Victor does he takes the time to make soaps.? That's so?
thoughtful.? How long have you worked here," she asked.

? ? ?? Elizabeth inhaled the scents and chose the rose as Victor?
thought she would.? She began undressing not caring about modesty.? This?
was now to be her home also and the servants would have to get used to?
her.? It was her that inhaled sharply though once she saw the skin she'd?
covered.? It was leathery and she was afraid it would split.? She?
wondered idly if Victor could possibly have enough lotion for this?
issue.? She resolved not to think on it anymore for the time being at?
least.? There was so much to process she had no idea where to start? She?
was alive again for starters.? She shivered briefly at the vague memory?
of the void. In a way she was afraid to sleep.? What if she were pulled?
back there?? She tried to shake off that unsettling feeling.? When the?
bath was ready Elizabeth sank into it and let out a moan of pleasure.??
That feels like heaven, she thought.??? She lathered herself liberally?
with the rose scented soap.? She felt she couldn't get enough of the scent.

???? She cringed a little at the feel of her skin as she washed. She'd?
not ask a servant to do that and she wanted some time to think.? She had?
some memories but they were oddly disconnected without much feeling?
attached.? Was that a side effect of being dead so long, she wondered.??
Her mind skittered away from that unpleasant word.? Elizabeth vowed to?
appreciate every day Victor had granted her.? And it was because of?
Victor that she lived, there was no doubt of that.? She needed to hear?
more of what had happened to her and to them.? There was more to this?
story and Elizabeth would know the truth.

Locked Re: Home At Last (Rena/Henry/Pool/etc)

"Part of the reason women faint so often is the damned tight corsets. Many women make them too tight. You likely know that, being a doctor though," Rena said with a casual shrug.
?
?
?
"Constriction making it difficult to breath will make one light headed eventually, therefore leading to fainting. I suppose, now that I think on it, if a woman becomes upset, her breathing is more rapid and so her heart rate rises, only exacerbating the problem."
?
?
She gave a pleased smile. The conclusion was an obvious one, but it was a thing she'd never cared to bother considering previously.
?
?
?
"Perhaps some are prone to hysterics. I don't know. I don't really deal with women aside from Mom and Grandma, and neither of them are typical I should think. Mom especially."
?
?
?
?
Rena frowned at mention of Mary speaking to Henry at all, and whatever tales she could pass on where not of interest to her for the most part. She chose to focus on the surgeon rather than the silly maid as she said,"Wouldn't it be interesting if he hid something here? Like under the floor boards or in a secret passage?"
?
Leaning forward she placed a small?hand eagerly on Henry's arm as she smiled in excitement.
?

"Perhaps we could?hunt the place for such hiding places one day when things are slow and dull...if such a day ever comes," she added, unable not to feel a bit of trepidation on that last part, considering she didn't even know how or why she was here. Considering that, they certainly had?more important and pressing?things to do with dull days.
?
?
"I never believed much in the occult either," Rena told Henry, nodding in understanding at his skepticism.
"These days, though, I never know what to believe. I suppose even though I"m not as into it as my Mom and Dad, I do prefer science to less explainable matters. Though unlike my parents I am probably more flexible and able to deal with them if they do exist."
?
She shrugged again then drew closer to him, allowing her interest in those delicious muscles and wide shoulders to hold her entire focus. Being so free with him in these formal times was a turn on all its own. Being able to run her hands over that wide strong chest, to trace her lips across his naked shoulder, to know that he had taken liberties and would continue to do so was a thrill. Knowing that she'd have his heart no matter the time in which they lived gave the relationship new depths to her. Just as well, considering at this point it was new to him as well.

Locked Re: Home At Last (Rena/Henry/Pool/etc)

"That was my experience as well. They are usually stubborn, conservative, religious or superstitious. Only I wasn't sure, considering how your country appeared to have changed so much since the last time I visited it. With London itself it's interesting, I think parts of it are developing admirably, while other parts are encouraging squalor where no respectable man would ever step forth. Being in real estate must expose your father to the less palatable parts. depending on what he specializes in. There are scouts, tradesmen, spies and even brawlers in real estate. Well, at least that is how I refer to them. I sincerely doubt they think of themselves as such.
?
"Ah yes, a successful little surgeon, he was most noted for some acceptable experiments, and made very few but nonetheless?significant breakthroughs. His family needed his attention though. Some mysterious case of the older daughter claiming to see a spook, dreadful history that forced him to retire. He probably should have thought of using the fainting salts first, Ammonia, the miracle remedy against female hysterics, if you pardon my candor. He suffered instead, the poor doting goat, may have had his new house burnt?down by the very same daughter he failed to restrain. Alas, and yet, I cannot admit to feeling just as ebullient in regards to my unexpected gains. One man's fall often signifies another man's rise, in such an? overcrowded society as ours, at least."
?
Henry was not sure if he should be more circumspect in detailing the rest or not. Rena claimed not to be a regular female, yet surely she partook of some feminine sensitivities. Unless of course, well, a true lady ought not to consider a mere maid as her equal, he finally?reasoned, deciding to proceed just as freely.
?
"Well, the rumors of the surgeon hiding something are not of great repute but they do exist. Mary for one regaled me with tales of the supernatural variety she heard at the nearest food market. I didn't even consider the surgeon to be popular among our lesser, and perhaps he was not as a person, but rumors of his demise and his adventures?proved more persistent than could be expected.
?
Dr James Easrtdale, it was revealed to me then, was apparently a practitioner of some unknown arts. The Devil's name was mentioned a lot and you could guess how much credit I have in it, yet other names were more familiar. Did somebody truly discover something, Mary couldn't tell of course. Only that her cohorts were certain of some occult interests and esoteric items. Being a?simple minded medical practitioner, I would not know of?such relics, but it sounds interesting as a piece of gossip at least. If you happen to find anything under the bed or elsewhere, do let me know..." Hyde?spoke?with a smirk that clearly suggested he expected no?occult discovery of any sort.
?
"Sir Denvers, yes. He upholds the old virtues. Well mostly,?but that can be disregarded. Probably just vicious rumors. Must be, surely..." Henry admitted, frowning as he remembered such strange ideas circulating among Carew's staunchest opponents. ??

A Rude Awakening (Sariel/Renfield)

His heart had not been filled with such rage sense the 1400s! Sariel had NEVER been subdued by anyone much less humans! Mere humans with...something. They had strange gadgets and they were too fast and too knowledgeable. They had covered him in silver chains after somehow discovering his resting place. THEN they had dragged him by them literally. DRAGGED HIM!
?
?
?
The vampire wiped his mouth as he left the headquarters of The Grey Cardinals and attempted to straighten his garments to cover the burns in his wrists and ankles. Those on his waist and upper thighs as well as on his chest were not visible but smarted and burned all the same. They appeared to be taking their time to heal too. Cursing and growling under his breath in several languages he headed out into the busy eara of downtown London seeking the little man whom the man and woman holding him in chains demanded he take in hand.
?
?
?
?
A servant?! He needed no servant, and trusted no one in his personal affairs. Besides humans were weak and frail things. He preferred magical servants or those weaker vampires who feared what he could and would do to them if angered. This lot had given him no choice, however, and they hinted that he may have his revenge on the Tepes house if he played along so for now, until he discovered the perfect opportunity to tear out their throats and sup gleefully on their blood for what they had done to him, he would play along if reluctantly.
?
?
?
?
When he reached the man's house he pounded on the door angrily, knowing that he would likely be invited in out of shock so he'd not have to bother playing nice. This was a good thing as he currently lacked the self control for it. He had to pound for half a minute too long in his opinion, before the little man appeared, peering out of the door sleepily, short white blonde hair disheveled. The black eyes that regarded Sariel were sleepy yet alert.
?
"Yes? What ever do you want at this hour?"
?
"From what I'm told it's more a matter of what you want," Sariel replied in a near growl.
?
?
?
"Life, isn't it? Now let me in if you'd like to discuss the matter further."
?
?
?
And? it was as simple as that...As simple as giving candy to a baby. The door opened and Sariel was invited in.

Heidi spoke in a lilting Swiss accent, absolutely, as you wish my lady; and you will not need help with bath, no? ?Come, follow me if you please, and I will show you bath soaps, the master has, Rose, Lily, lavender, and Daffodil. He seems to remember that you loved rose the most, but you may use either, or combination of either that you like. ?He says, he is going to make Violet in the next few days, as you also seem to like that as well. ?She chuckled, hot, but not scalding, she repeated, that is exactly the kind of bath I like. Victor had chuckled along with her at first, and now that she was with Miss Heidi, he had gone to make notes on the days events. ?For that day, he wrote simply, my Elizabeth, alive again! Brought back with combination lightning and, he started to write the word, potion, then erased it, changing it to, formula, thinking to himself and deciding that this sounded much more scientific.??

God loves you.

"While we're asking questions, what are you," Natari asked Amara, meeting the other young woman's eyes directly.
?
If she died here and now in a completely foolhardy way, she would do it with pride and her usual aloof mannerisms," the dark haired Italian decided.
?
She wore her fine velvet dress like dignity itself as she drew herself up beside Van Helsing, holding her head of long dark wavy hair high with the pride of a lady. Answering Valerie?she said,"Toying with him as a vampire would toy with a man she discovered to be the infamous Abraham Van Helsing, of course. He gave me a ride in the rain. Neither of us was aware of the points of interest the other held. I did not know he was Abraham Van Helsing and he did not know I was a vampire. When I discovered his name, I enjoyed a pleasant conversation, not letting him know what I am until I left his carriage. It amused me."
?
?
"Werewolves are men who were bitten by werewolves. Werewolves are some what of an anomaly in the way vampires are," Klaus answered Amara matter of factly.
"The man turns into a wolf during the full moon. He is wild. At times he can look half man half beast."
?
He spoke the last bit with open relish. He seemed to ignore the dark haired lovely at Helsin'g's side. He showed no interest in her explanation to Amara. He listened and noticed, however, weather he showed it or not.

Locked Re: Revelations (Klaus/Amara/Valerie/Van Helsing)

¡°Werewolf?¡± Amara repeated with some uncertainty as this wasn't something that existed in her time. It was a wonder a whole string of questions had not followed the single word that passed her lips. There were countless possibilities as to what one of those might be¡at the top of that list was a different breed of wolf or perhaps it was something similar to what they were.?
?
But anything else she might have said was abandoned when a knocking sound came from the door seconds before it opened to reveal the good doctor and his newest guest. Taking a half step closer to Klaus she noticed the small trinket the man withdrew from underneath his garment as if it would inspire fear or perhaps act as some sort of mystical object meant for the man's protection.?
?
One glance toward Valerie showed her to be unfazed as she looked completely disinterested. Her eyes then quickly moved to Klaus, curious as to his reaction as she didn't quite understand the purpose of this gesture.?
?
?
?
?
¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª
?
?
?
Valerie closely studied the woman who entered though in a matter of seconds her focus shifted as the hunter revealed the cross kept hidden beneath his shirt. She regarded it with a look of disinterest as religious items had no effect whatsoever. Perhaps the gesture was a sign things were about to take a most unpleasant turn, one she suspected to be brought on by the woman at his side.?
?
She caught a glimpse of what she swore to be panic in her eyes though it was quickly covered up and this made her even more suspicious. ¡°No, we have not met before.¡± Briefly looking to Klaus then back to the pair opposite them as she was left to wonder what, if anything, they might be up to.
?
It came as no surprise when Amara took a step closer to their ¡®gentleman escort¡¯ who was able to make the former handmaiden feel safe without even trying to. ¡°Toying with him?¡± She asked with a slight interest. ¡°To what end?¡± Ignoring the resentment in favor of seeking answers, knowing even if she were older that her ability to practice magic gave her an edge.?
?
Splitting her attention as she awaited two separate responses, one for her own questions and another for the inquiry Klaus had made in regards to the presence of a werewolf within these walls. The discovery of a werewolf being a guest at the home of someone with a reputation for hunting their kind was troubling to say the very least but would explain his willingness to welcome them into his home if he knew certain details.?

Locked Re: Revelations (Klaus/Amara/Valerie/Van Helsing)

Natari's gaze was panicked, though only fleetingly as her eyes skimmed over Klaus, Valerie and the other who was not a vampire yet was not precisely human either.
?
"No. They would not know me, I do not think," she said quietly, feeling ill as she spoke with discomfort and uncertainty.
Oliver had been correct. she was playing out of her league and would get herself killed. And she was a fool. Too bored and a fool.
?
"Because that is I do not know them and I am not particularly renowned."
?
She glanced briefly at the doctor while she spoke, then returned her gaze to the vampires.
?
"I am afraid I have not made the acquaintance of all the lovely ladies of London," Klaus quipped almost pleasantly before his eyes narrowed.
?
"Though I must ask why another vampire is here and obviously so familiar with the professor."
?
And here it was, Natari thought in some panic. She had no bloody good reason and likely no reason that wouldn't eventually get her ganged upon and killed.
?
"I...I was toying with him at first, but then he helped me when I was injured and so I saw no reason to kill him."
?
She spoke the words a little tartly, obviously resentful that she had to give anyone an explanation.
?
"I see," Klaus nodded.
?
"Sounds reasonable," he concluded dryly before his gaze moved to the doctor.
?
"And the werewolf upstairs," he asked.
?
He had smelled it nearly from coming in the front door and saw no reason to hold back on it now. At first he had thought to lead more gradually into it but the sudden appearance of another vampire had caused him to feel uncertain and thus to rethink himself a little. He did need something from this man, but he couldn't afford to overlook too much.
?
?
The concerns of Amara and Valerie, were for the moment also Klaus's own but he could n't comment to them now. He did plan to keep Amara away from any tea, though, especially in light of new developments. Rather than saying any of this, he merely gave her a reassuring smile before his gaze returned?to?the good doctor.

Locked Re: Revelations (Klaus/Amara/Valerie/Van Helsing)

It had seemed to Van Helsing that Natari might want to come with him to join in the conversation with the others. So, he led the way, pausing just outside the door. I suppose I really don¡¯t have to knock, it is¡ My laboratory after all, but I wish to foster trust between our kinds, and I do not wish them to think that I distrust them in any way. ?He of course, had no idea of their discussion, as he softly knocked upon his own laboratory door, then paused a few seconds more, before slowly opening it, and motioning for his guest to enter with him. During this short interval, he had taken the cross from under his shirt, and hung it on the outside, no reason to take unnecessary chances, he had murmured to Natari before opening the door and motioning for her to enter. ?The doctor wasn¡¯t certain if either of the other vampires in the lab could handle seeing a cross or not, but it was not even so much to frighten them, as it was to affirm his own trust in his own higher power, or as he preferred to call it, in God. ?It wasn¡¯t until they were completely inside and the door was closed that he realized, he was now inside the lab with not one, not two, but three¡ Vampires. ?Natari, Klaus, and Valerie. ?Helsing New that, if there was ever a time he had trusted in God, it needed to be, now; ¡° good evening, once more to all of you. I have brought my visitor here to join us, I am reasonably certain that you all know Natari; she wanted to come and see the facilities as well. Now,¡± he continued, ¡° are there any questions, suggestions or concerns from anyone?¡± ?He drew comfort from the cross around his neck, but did not touch it, it was time to show these vampires that he trusted them, yet was not totally na?ve, at least not so na?ve as to omit wearing something that could possibly?prove some protection against them if necessary. ?It would not work with his visitor, and he knew this, but the others might carry more of a fear of crosses, so it could prove as at least a mild deterrent should things begin to turn ugly, which he did not believe they would. ?He pointed to a chair for his guest, then sat in an almost identical easy chair in one corner of the lab, facing the others, as he waited to hear their concerns and questions.???

God loves you.
