Locked Re: A Strange Evening (Henry/Rena/Leti/Pool/Mary/etc)

?Mary had finished up her work in Leti¡¯s ?room, or rather, the guest room that she had used. She had simply nodded when told by way of the shake of her head, that the guest would not be staying another night. After finishing up her work she went back to her room, and had just entered it when¡, She heard the familiar, ding, dong of the bell.?She whirled, ?then ran as quickly as she could to the room belonging to the master and mistress. She knocked gently, then, knowing that they had indeed called for her, she opened the door, and stepped inside; you called, she looked at both of them, Doctor?? Mistress?? Her eyes showed a curiosity as to who had rung the bell, and who needed her.????

God loves you.

Rena nodded, sighing. "I remember a time when I wasn't paranoid," she said, tone wistful. "I remember when we weren't paranoid together either. Hopefully those days will return, but for now, the more careful the better."
?
When Henry rang for the made she smiled at him in thanks, mind silently pondering his dream, or what little he could recall of it. As it was so little, she knew it was best not to attempt sorting it out as it could only lead to more confusion in potential. Either way they were in this together, and that felt good...safe.
?
Leti merely stood back out of the way, obviously discomforted with a situation to which she was unaccustomed as she waited for the maid to finish up with the room. She shook her head when asked if she'd be staying over for the night. She offered no explanation, however. She was no fine lady but she knew enough to know nothing their betters did was the business of the servants. She may not be a better particularly but the doctor was and as she'd brought this problem to him, it was now his business as she saw it.

Henry Hyde seriously nodded as Rena's exclamation aptly encapsulated his own feelings. "I do see why. Not that I would have used the notes at any rate. I may be impressed that somebody managed to squeeze themselves into my tightly guarded ship, as it were, but that would not mean for me to indulge their fancy. Au contraire, the whole thing would have made me even more paranoid, if such a thing was possible, without the addition of the weird dream.
?
I do understand what you are saying. I have to hold myself back, to hold myself together, but I thought I gave myself enough leeway too. Getting out, engaging?in pursuits others would not find palatable, I thought such private time would allow me to recover...but you may be right. I did have urges in the dream, strong urges to express myself right in the face of whoever it was I was talking about. Punching him out all the way, but not until he is dead, until he is nearing death and begging for mercy. All the funnier, since I cannot even remember what the dream person that annoyed me so looks like, the greasy little bugger. I suppose...a change may be in order," Henry finally admitted to himself, as well as to Rena.
?
"Certainly, my dear," Henry agreed feeling himself to be a kind of a gentleman, despite inner protestations to the contrary,?as he rang the bell for Mary.

Very well then ma¡¯am, Mary replied as she continued efficiently changing the linens, and putting used linens in a basket on one side of the room. May I say that it has been a most delightful pleasure having you here, I am sure the master and mistress enjoyed your company. I hope to have the sincere privilege of serving you again someday soon.
?
?Mary took the linens and hurried away, quickly giving them to other servants who would take care of the washing and drying of them. Then she hurried back to her room, if there were any way at all the master and mistress of the house could see outside of their door into the immediate hallway, they might catch a glimpse of her running by there room on her way back to her room. ?

God loves you.

"Shit,"Rena said, dropping her face into her hands when Henry spoke of dreaming of the feeling of battles past and to come. "Sounds unfortunately like how it is."
?
She straightened, looking at him as he explained the rest. "Yes you did tell me of the notes added to your potion and I made you promise not to use the changes."She grinned. "Now we see why. Your quite lovely as you are. But perhaps the female hysteria is someone's way of explaining your anger or suppression and how you react to it? Trying to sweep it under the rug when your feelings are what end up making you great. Sure they can cause problems in this structured life of yours until it changes." She made a sharp gesture around? the room with one small hand when referring to the structured life. "The structure is forced on you by society and its expectations, not by your own preferences, after all, and much of it is quite illogical, but then again you already know this."
?
She glanced down at her state of undress and frowned. "Would you ring for Mary, Dearest? I need her to bring me the clothes we spoke of with her last night.? I can't go out in my clothes...not at all suitable for here and it was quite difficult making sure the stupid cloak kept me covered last night. A constant challenge really and if I need my hands for anything else if there is trouble..."
?
She shrugged.
?
Meanwhile in the room next door Leti stood still beside the far wall out of the maid's way while she attended to the making of the bed. "No I don't think so," she replied when Mary asked if she'd be remaining over night.
She hoped the doctor would attend to the strange man tonight and she'd be free to feel safe again and to return to work.

" I am not sure," Henry responded with a shake of his head. Only bits and pieces remained with him since last night, and most weren't at all too clear. "I did dream last night and dimly remember something. Like a thing that we did before, and have to do again. A type of battle, I guess. Strange, right? Dreams are often strange, but this night took the cake for strangeness. I am not even sure if there was anybody specific in the dream with me. Did they tell me something? Perhaps so.
?
The only thing I remember though?has to do with?my notes. Either somebody was showing them to me, or I just saw them.?Last night?has been a long one, so I cannot remember if I told you about the notes resurfacing. The notes of my experiment. Just as in real life, they had some strange additions in the dream.? If I took the additional ingredients, not that I would want to, ?I would develop some....feminine properties. At least that is how such ingredients are used alchemically, to treat female imbalance, hysteria or whatever else. My mind must have been?making some joke, a random nightmare, but striking nonetheless. And yet, it didn't feel all bad. I may be vague on the details but the overall sensation was of triumph, confidence. As if I was getting the better?of something or someone. ?How very peculiar. You must have left such an impression on me that even the?quality of my dreams changed," Henry quipped, his face remaining overall serious?due to the?sobering effects?of the dream.

Mary walked into the room, I must change your bed for you, will you be staying with us this evening, ma¡¯am? Is there anything you need at all? She was carrying clean sheets, and placing them on a nearby table, she quickly and efficiently stripped the linens from the bed, and replaced them with the clean ones. As she did this, she waited for a reply from the guest who had stayed with them that day.?

"What begins again," Rena asked, sitting up in? bed, feeling suddenly alarmed.
?
"Did you dream, Jekyll? Um..Henry," she corrected with a sigh.
He was but not yet. It didn't? matter, though. She'd already told him he was Jekyll.
"Did they tell you anything," she asked hopefully. Hell they had nothing right now. No where to start and she felt like a sitting duck.
?
?
?
In the room next door Leti swore mentally at the knock on the door, uncomfortable at the prospect of dealing with doctor Henry's serving staff. She didn't know them or what to say to them, and knew too much a bout everything else she supposed. She drew in a deep breath and adjusted her skirts again before turning unwillingly to the door.
?
"Yes. Come in," the red head spoke loudly enough to carry but not too much so.

Henry was not too surprised to see his notes again. It was everything. His private theory of evolution succinctly translated into the language of formulae. A few pages hand written by him, or so it seemed until he saw the unwelcome additions and recognized them as such. And then, as he finally began to realize their potential effect, Henry Hyde incredulously smiled. "What manner of man would want that? Is this some kind of a joke," he wondered out loud, expecting no answers from his dream landscape. Only to receive one from somewhere. Such a familiar, so smooth, suggestive and hateful of a voice. "It's you," Henry accused with familiarity, though how he knew the man, from where, or who he was, he could not truly say.
?
"It is no joke," the suggestive voice murmured?with surprising?outrage. "I know what you did last time, what you are going to do next. I know everything, You think you are unique? You think you were the first who came up with your theory? Unlike you, I always remember. What if I told you that countless generations sacrificed their lives to come up with..." the voice started but?Jekyll blithely interrupted. "Do you ever get bored hearing your own voice? Your people have a problem, let them talk to my people. Or, do you want to come and get it yourself? Be-my-guest," the man who?in the ridiculous fashion of dreams thought of himself as Jekyll, suddenly offered, punctuating every word?and Henry wondered yet another time what?in the name of the Lowest Underworld was happening here.
?
"There will be a sequel, there will be consequences, there will be reckoning," the?disgusting voice warned, and that part of?him that thought of itself as Jekyll, eagerly agreed. "Yes, there will be. I wasn't ready before, but I am ready now. You set your affairs in?order, I trust,"?Henry, or some part of him, ironically inquired of the stranger. "Soon, this body will rot too, and then, there will be no replacement. Your time was?over millennia ago, your revival crushed like a serpent under the Spaniard's foot,??but our time is coming back. The Great Old One is walking again in this world after all. I will first rape your soul, and then that of your?double natured boss. And now, as a friend of mine?is?fond?of saying...ta-ta," Henry sensed himself waving, and the dream landscape?shifted again. He had not seen the face of his interlocutor, but now something was different, the subtle presence was gone, and he,?Jekyll did it.
?
No, he Henry did it, because?he knew nobody named Jekyll, the good doctor decided opening his eyes. Unable to remember what it was he was supposed to have done. "Sometimes, I do not remember," he?initially complained but realizing some visions were not?made of dreams?brightly smiled. "You are real at least," Henry happily?regarded the lovely stranger by his side. Then,?Rena's words registered on his mind, his smile vanishing under a serious expression, he slowly nodded. "And now it begins, again," he added unnecessarily, not certain precisely why, unless his comment has been inspired by some random dream fragment he could no longer recall. ? ? ? ??

?As Mary walked by the room where the guest had been sleeping, she could hear movement going on inside of the room. Assuming that the guest was now awake, she not softly on the door. Ma¡¯am? She called, hoping the guest would answer, so that she could ask if Letty needed anything.
?
?She might have her own misgivings and even envies concerning the mistress of the house, simply because said mistress had someone whom?she desperately wanted, ?but this was a guest, a guest who was more than likely uninvolved with any such things, Mary had been trained well by Pool, so knew how to be nice, and mind her manners.???

Locked A Strange Evening (Henry/Rena/Leti/Pool/Mary/etc)

Rena woke, noting that the sun had shifted to nearly gone. She lay still in Henry's arms staring at the dim light before shifting to regard his face. They had at least gotten their sleep on, for they'd slept the entire day away, thankfully undisturbed. She bit her lip in worry as it occurred to her that ahe had not dreamed. Had not been able to traverse the dream realm at all. No locating their bosses to ask for help, no nothing. Why could she not dream simply because she was out of her time? And then her mind wound its way back to the fact time travel should not be possible. Yet she lay staring at the admittedly handsome face of Henry Hyde, and not the wickedly sharp green one of her Jekyll who he would become rather soon.
?
"I suppose we'd better get up and start dealing," she said, voice quiet and heavy with reluctance because she'd rather have him instead.
?
Leti woke suddenly and lay for a moment collecting herself, mentally replaying the situation that had her in a far more comfortable bed from which she was accustomed. Slowly she recalled her sleepless night, her risky trip to the doctor's home this morning, the shocking things Rena had shared with both of them, and the fact he'd allowed her to rest here. How amazing it all was. Slowly she rose and straightened the only mildly wrumpled bed before wandering over to the mirror to straighten herself as best as possible. Nature demanded she explore further in hopes of a watercloset or chamber pot? and indeed there was a huge bath off to the side and a toilet that flushed. She made a soft sound of excited pleasure then availed herself of the facilities. As she washed up at the beautiful sink, beautiful because it was far nicer than her own, she gave the large claw footed bath a longing look. But she wasn't unclean and hadn't been invited to bathe so she would restrain herself with much sadness.

Re: Life in London

"So why have you chosen to tell me all this. Is there something you need, help with something," Ben asked, gaze traveling between Rebecca and Kol and back again.
?
"We usually always need help with something," Kol said dryly.
?
He didn't mind the fellow, but this play Rebecca loved to star in only had 2 endings and he got bored watching it. Looking at his sister, he merely shrugged in response to the way she said his name, but not commenting further. He was leaving it to her, merely along for the ride as it were.
?
The look on the man's face showed that while he believed, he was still struggling to process. Normal enough, Kol silently observed. And the fellow had been respectful of his sister, so he meant him no ill will, but neither he nor Rebecca knew him. He would advise time if he interfered, but as he'd chosen not to he remained silent. Rebecca rarely if ever listened anyway.

Re: Life in London

Rebekah knew precisely what her brother was getting at when asking that particular question. It was an issue she'd been faced with for nearly a thousand years, every single time she developed any sort of feelings for another Nik would inevitably kill the man or, as was the most recent case, dagger her and perhaps it was reason enough to compel Ben to forget everything he'd learned tonight.

¡°Kol.¡± She spoke in a tone of voice that was somewhere between being stern and pleading as it was a conversation she didn't wish to be having at this very instant. Though she knew if the subject of turning or any further involvement with their family it would need to be addressed. Full disclosure and all that.

¡°It is quite a lot.¡± She agreed as another option crossed her mind, it was possible to compel him so that would only remember when with either of them. But then how would that prove whether he could be trusted? It appeared that all these centuries with Nik had instilled a bit of paranoia within her as well. Perhaps more than she cared to admit even to herself.?

Her thoughts briefly going to Marcel.

Locked Re: Revelations (Klaus/Amara/Valerie/Van Helsing)

?I look very much forward to it, Van Helsing replied, smiling and giving a friendly wave, as they all left. Once he was certain they were gone, and he had closed the door to his lab, he asked himself out loud, ?what am I doing?? Treating these beings as though they were just, ordinary humans? He bowed his head slightly, God please help me to help these people, help me to help them become human again, it¡¯s not exactly their fault.?
?
?
?It was late, and he called for a hot cup of his normal calming tea which he took just about every evening before retiring. The tea consisted of chamomile, valerian, and hops. ? ? As he waited for the tea to be prepared, he looked in many of his drawers and shelves, receptacles for all manner of??potions and substances, he saw nothing which said, guaranteed to turn a vampire back into a human, but he wondered about mixtures of various things. At the same time, he still felt he was way in over his head.
?
?Tomorrow, he would look in his library and also other places, for books and research on magic and the supernatural. At present, he did not even see how magic and science could mix, they seem to be so opposite one another, yet they had to come together, if only for this purpose, he thought to himself, as he sipped his calming beverage, and at long last, retired to bed for the evening. ?????

Locked Re: Revelations (Klaus/Amara/Valerie/Van Helsing)

After bidding Van Helsing? a final farewell and promising to be in touch soon, Klaus left with the ladies, guided out by a servant.
?
His mind was puzzling over a few things concerning Amara's blood. His expression was thoughtful and he was silent until they were on the late?night street.
?
"What do you think would happen if a vampire had your blood injected into them? Or a mortal? Would anything happen either way do you think, and should not the results be different for vampires vs mortals," Klaus asked Amara.
?
Helsing had doing one mildly surprising thing, Klaus was developing a budding interesting for medical science. Perhaps it could be as useful as magic in serving him and more containable and controllable.

Locked Re: Revelations (Klaus/Amara/Valerie/Van Helsing)

¡°Her purpose for creating the ¡®Other Side¡¯ was more to ensure that if Silas ever sought to end it all...to take the cure and die that he would be trapped there with her for all time.¡± Amara wished many times over for an end to this hell, one way or another. Part of her would always love Silas while another resented him just a little because of this.

She neither cast herself as the victim nor considered herself entirely blameless as the choice had been hers to make. Or had it? If all his talk of how they were fated to be together were true then did that remove all choice in the matter? It was a strange thing to be considering at present.

The fingers of one hand lightly tracing small patterns along her upper arm as she held herself while averting her gaze to avoid looking at a figure who hadn¡¯t been there a moment ago. Silently willing it away but too afraid to check to see if she were successful in her efforts.

¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª

Valerie kept close watch of the other woman from the corner of her eye, it was most strange to feel protective toward someone she barely knew but in all likelihood it sprang from the fact she¡¯d been the one to revive her so there was an almost inherent responsibility there.?

She was polite enough in spite of a few lingering reservations as goodbyes were said and quite ready to part ways with the vampire hunter. Though she couldn¡¯t help noticing that Amara seemed to be purposefully avoiding something. A ghost? Perhaps. She was after all plagued with them.?

Locked Re: Revelations (Klaus/Amara/Valerie/Van Helsing)

Van Helsing ?was still there, and still listening, doing his best to make sense out of all of the, well for his part it could be called, foreign¡, Talk. When Klaus ?made his statement about the doctor enjoying a topic of such a potion if it were scientific, the same said Doctor could not help but chuckle. I would enjoy learning about perhaps any potion, it is just that right now at present, my understanding is limited to that which is more of a scientific nature, he reassured. ? ?I want to gain knowledge about anything that can help anyone, if I possibly can.?
?
?He nodded when Klaus?? Spoke of bringing the vampire that needed to become human. Very good then, and it will most definitely help if this is indeed what said vampire??truly wants to do. ? I have next to no knowledge of the magical arts, but we are finding that any potion or medicine tends to work better in conjunction with the mind of the person receiving it. ?In other words, he continued, if the patient actually wants to be made well, and has every reason to get well, the medicine has a better chance to work.
?
?
?He stood when Klaus ?thank him for hearing them out, you are most welcome, all of you; I am delighted, and find it a great pleasure to meet all of you, this will indeed be a challenge. ? He returned the bow,?reaching out then to shake hands with Claus, ?and any others who might wish to return his gesture of goodwill. I bid you blessing and farewell until next time then, he told them. A most pleasant evening to all of you. ? He would await any replies, and would stand watching, and giving a friendly wave as they left his facility.?????????

Locked Re: Revelations (Klaus/Amara/Valerie/Van Helsing)

"Well, most things can be fixed, or at least muffled," Klaus told Amara thoughtfully.
?
"And you may be 2000 years old but people were dying and crossing over long before you so I should think your unfortunate?situation more? of a punishment than a true necessity or good deed your former mistress was doing," he said dryly, thinking that he wouldn't mind meeting her former mistress. He liked a girl with a bit of spunk and one who truly understood revenge. And if this Amara went off with the mistress's husband to be and both used the immortality potion, she had every bloody right to take vengeance. That didn't stop him from finding Amara interesting and useful. Klaus was nothing if not interpreting after all.
?
"I wonder what because of your mistress," he mused. "Were her I'd have made myself another potion," he speculated.
Were such a potion scientific or alchemical rather than directly magical Dr. Van Helsing may enjoy such knowledge as well. He gave the man in question? a fleeting look of sympathy as they were talking of matters he had no foot hold in what so ever. Why should he?
?
?
Clearing his throat he looked directly at Dr. Van Helsing. "For now, I think we have done all we can at present. I will bring you the vampire who needs to be made human as soon as I can and I am very eager to do business with you. I do hope we manage great things? together, Doctor."
?
And he? did. The man was surprisingly reasonable. Not that that sort of thing didn't change on a dime, and Klaus had not been able to be completely honest so it just might, he did like Helsing well enough thus far to his own surprise.
?
"Thank you for your time and for hearing us out," he said, giving a slight bow.

Amara considered his words briefly then shook her head, feeling more confident in the answer she intended to provide. Though thinking back on that last conversation with her former mistress was not something she relished at all. ¡°I don't think so. I mean, the ¡®Other Side¡¯ was her creation. It was intended to be her revenge¡a means to keep us apart for all eternity.¡±

She tried to recall every word said when her intended fate was explained to her that night. ¡°I¡the ¡®Anchor¡¯ am what binds the spell she used to create the ¡®Other Side¡¯.¡± When it became obvious that everyone was listening to what she had to say she'd gotten a little nervous but managed to continue. ¡°Qetsiyah said it required something truly immortal.¡±

There was something close to hope in her eyes when Klaus spoke as if there were a chance of this hell ending. ¡°You really think they could help me?¡± Part of her was afraid to get her hopes up too high as after all this time it was just hard to believe the intense pain she experienced again and again might end.

Her eyes momentarily drifted between both Valerie and Van Helsing as the doctor spoke of his theories on best to help her.

Locked Re: Revelations (Klaus/Amara/Valerie/Van Helsing)

Van Helsing¡¯s ?eyes widened at the explanation, 1 foot in the land of the living and the other¡, He paused, still not wanting to entirely believe the part about the land of the dead. So then, it would appear that the potion will need to be something that brings you entirely back to this land, the land of the living. ? ?Certain herbs, stones and the like, are said to have more magical properties, although I must admit, I have never actually given them much thought, believing that their actions could be explained by science, rather than magic. I will need to look into this further, and see what I can come up with to assist in this matter.?
?He did not wish to appear completely ignorant, but that was basically what he was, he was very wise in his time, wise enough to know that, before he just started mixing things and making potions, he would need to research the matter, to see which herbs would be better to use. ? ?But who or what, could he turn to which would yield him the answers that he required? He wondered this as he listened, reminding himself that even before making a simple, common sleeping draft, you always researched, to see what herbs were best to help the problem.?
