Re: Calling on the Doctor (Leti/Pool/Mary/etc)
"I suppose I might have to, from now on, as I am getting more suspicious," Henry frowned with a shrug. "I have been intrigued at several points of my research on the effects my potion would have on other humans, preferably with at least average intelligence. I have tried prior versions of it on animals, and...lesser humans, with the intention to improve them, of course. I wasn't always as certain, how universal my idea is for human development, or how unique to myself. So, it almost paid off to have the potion in plain sight at first and have it borrowed by the lab assistants. Until I realized that the results could be too dire if I am not more careful," Hyde sadly admitted.
?
He was going at first to pace himself. To avoid inundating the girl with too much input she might not be ready to assimilate, nor interested in learning about. But talking to a prospective assistant, that put a different spin on the whole thing, allowing him to be more candid, more trusting. To talk openly as he would to a friend, the kind Lanyon should have been but failed at becoming. Alas, his better years were certainly behind him, Henry sadly reminded him. Nowadays, all Lanyon?could aspire to be was?an agreeable companion to his own wife, and, naturally to Henry himself.
?
Considering Rena's sudden request, Henry brightened with relief when he realized that?the?task he was ill equipped to accomplish would not fall completely on his shoulders. "That is?definitely a good arrangement. I shall endeavor to find...well actually, I'll let Poole know we are looking for a new lady's maid. I have a feeling he might be relieved. Something about making my household more normal and such," Henry thinly smiled at his old butler's previously voiced complaints.
?
"A maid would be indeed best qualified to instruct and aid in such matters. I wish we could avoid uncommon attention as well, but sadly see no way to avoid the hassle. None of us are fully equipped to deal with the demands of current fashion. Unless, you wish to test Marry's skills, my dear Lady? I am not completely aware of how many skills she picked up?through her training..." Henry thoughtfully offered.?

"You'd have had to hide this potion from any other assistant,"Leti was quick to point out with a small smile.
?
"I'll study anything you tell me too. If you got books I should be learnin' anything I'll do it and I'll study hard," she added, feeling a sudden surge of energy born of excitement that part of her knew would fade soon in her need for sleep. The prospect of being here more around these interesting people and getting a better job, real learnin' and a true career it was just more than she could stand and she nearly wanted to jump up and down for joy.
?
"I may need help learning how to do things with clothing and hair too," Rena said, looking hopeful.
?
"Well I'...I'll do my best though I won't know all the finest and fanciest," Leti said a little hesitantly.
"It'll get you through until Dr. Enry can get you a lady's maid."
?
Rena frowned.
?
"I don't know that I want a maid so close. Too many people we can't trust... can't we just make do?"
?
Leti looked doubtfully to Henry, shrugging. She had said she'd do anything but...

"In my office, yes. I had a few assistants over the years, and had to fire several of them. It wasn't that the?job was so demanding as all that, but they kept being distracted by their relationships. I trust that wouldn't be one problem you would have to worry about," Henry affirmed with a soft if suggestive smile.
?
"Indeed, Leticia seems very intent on becoming your most devoted female friend, I have a feeling that would be the case," Hyde agreed, happy at the ability to be perfectly honest at present company. |

Leti felt her jaw drop as they all proceeded from the room.
?
"Truly? In your office? Like with patients? Or anything...I'd learn anything and I'd work hard," she said in an eager rush.
?
Anything to get away from dodgy men and loud drunken laughter. And it wasn't as if she didn't? already know enough about the 2. She was already involved, at least if you asked her wrist wearing the emaciated man's hand print.
?
"It'd be? nice to have you around more often," Rena said with a smile over her shoulder at Leti as she snuggled into Henry's broad chest, enjoying being carried...any reason to be close to him.
?
"I don't have? any female friends."
?
Leti merely smiled and made no comment. Until now her few friends were all female. Obviously Miss Rena was different.

"Thank you very much. I am ready to proceed now," Elizabeth graciously accepted Keres' words and a gift.

Her tone became light hearted again as she turned to Cylas. "I cannot actually imagine, how can he not be pleased with such a friendly man?" she rhetorically inquired, her mind beginning to move on to her plans for the immediate future. ?

Keres returned then with a jar of cream in her hand.

"This will fix you right up but your skin will eat it up so you'll need a refill in a few days. It gives a chance to talk and catch up. If you need me before then, just pop over. If I'm not? here? Cylas will be unless he's on a job for Dance."

Re: Late Night Lab Work (Victor/Elizabeth)
"I did at that," Elizabeth slowly nodded, a satisfied grin threatening to undermine her every attempt at remaining mildly modest. "I wonder if I would learn to be faster than Victor too. No, I suppose that is not relevant then," she amended, taking into account the refusal from Keres. She had to admit to being both relieved and disappointed at the same time. She really didn't know that she could take him on. She would have liked to try, under some previously arranged safe conditions. To have some guarantee of protection, survival.
?
But Keres refused such guarantees. It was alright with her though. Many more men would die simply because Victor has not. In his place, to represent the worst of him and what he's done. She would punish them. Justly of course. And only when it was established that they were bad in some manner. She would determine herself what would constitute badness of course. Yes, that would only be just. And seeing how much faster and stronger she was, she might even have the time to investigate them, before their demise. Or not, she hasn't decided yet, but at least the option was there.
?
"Victor is still needed then. I respect that, I just hope he won't become a stumbling block on my path to greatness. But I must say, I don't feel quite as angry now. Perhaps I will be able to handle myself around him and he won't suspect a thing. Perhaps. It is remarkable, Cylas. I thought I might need one more, but I am actually good now," Elizabeth thoughtfully responded, patiently waiting for the proffered skin cream. ? |

"Did you see how slow his movements were in comparison to yours," Cylas asked, kicking the now dead lug.
?
Keres nodded in distracted agreement before replying quietly to Elisabeth's question about Victor.
?
"Yes, dart guns with poison darts are easy, but it isn't time for Victor to die yet."
?
She hesitated, shocked by 2 reasons struggling on her tongue. The first she knew to be true and the second was a bit more surprising. So she spoke the first. "We still need him for our Henry project. This new friend you are to meet. He, Victor, shall serve as an important catalyst. Consider it a matter of science. But do defend yourself against him if necessary," she assured.
?
The second reason felt odd, foreign nearly as it hid in the back of her mind where lost memories lived. That one, she kept to herself. That she, personally, didn't want him dead yet because he should suffer a little watching what he had created for a second time paying him back. Her flash of anger, the thought of her father. And Captain Dance who looked so very different from her father Frank. Daddy...Where was he and why was it so difficult to think of him like her mind kept wanting to slid off the thought.
?
?
Not wanting this to show on her face she turned away hastily, moving toward the hallway and the stairs.
?
"I did promise you skin cream. I'll just be right back with that," she said before sweeping upstairs.
?
?
"You done killing for the day or you need anothern," Cylas asked with a grin.

Re: Late Night Lab Work (Victor/Elizabeth)
Elizabeth realized with a start that she almost regretted Cylas leaving, however temporarily. It was as if he has become a kindred spirit of sorts in short time she knew him. But as Keres mentioned Victor again, her mind refocused on a sudden possibility that her unsated rage had suggested. "Are there no...special weapons then, that I could be granted. Something Victor would not suspect. A drug of sorts, a poison, a...I cannot remember what the novel called it, there was one I read that described the Massai tribe from Africa and how they used darts. I think that was it. Does your organization have anything of the kind that I could learn how to use? Something to either eliminate him or capture him at least," Elizabeth wondered with a sudden hope.
?
It was strange to hear herself talk about a cold bloodied murder of the man she thought she loved. But the day has been strange at large. She has become a different woman, who owed him nothing. And it began sounding to her like Victor was not just a problem for her anymore. He has become, somehow, a problem on a more global level, one she did not mind addressing. Her quiet, unassuming Victor. Or so he'd appeared to be, the self indulgent bastard, Elizabeth considered, still mentally struggling to best describe who he really was and how she truly felt about it.
?
"But yes, I shall play the part, as well as I can. If I do slip, I think he'd be more understanding this time. I made him realize a small part of what he did. Or rather, he pretends for my benefit to realize what he did," the young woman sadly corrected herself. "But, so long as he can play the part of an apologetic husband, he would let my slips slide, or it would look bad for his fa?ade," Elizabeth happily?concluded.
?
Then the friendly servant was back and Elizabeth found herself unable to disappoint him or let him loose his money. He may have been the closest to a new friend she had. Other than Keres herself perhaps, but the leader of the entire organization was far above her level to truly consider the same kind of friendship. ?After a few seconds of consideration, Elizabeth took off her shoes. Her toes would surely hold, but the shoes were a different matter, she could not risk them. Could not let Victor become suspicious when he saw them scratched or worse.
?
"I rather appreciate that you have some limits then," Elizabeth offered, thoughtfully regarding the guy, and his bulk, before she punched him in the face with the speed far surpassing that of an ordinary human. It felt so satisfying to her. To see that her actions mattered. That her will made something happen. That the big bulky guy dropped on his knees, barely able to avoid hitting the floor, but oscillating on his knees from the pain.
?
In truth, Elizabeth prepared a punch in the stomach next, because it would hold such an intimate relationship for her. But he led her down, and went too low. It didn't see efficient to use?a stab at this point, the angle was wrong.?Well she could always adjust her plans. "You'd be right, only I'm no ordinary girl," Elizabeth taunted, and her bare right foot delivered a kick into the man's face. There was definitely a crunch, and within a few more seconds, Elizabeth?casually commented. "Well, I didn't want you to go broke, my friend, so I won this bet for your sake,"?she happily reassured Cylas.?

?
Cylas nodded and giving Elisabeth a knowing grin left the room. A few seconds later the sound of another door slamming indicated that he also left the house.
?
?
Keres gave a soft chuckle, giving Elisabeth a calm knowing look.
?
"You are one of us. I trust you for this reason and because we are the only ones who understand and thus completely accept you. We can help you so why would you not be trust worthy when there is none that can do for you what we can? That and we harbor the same dislike for the mad man known as Victor Frankenstein but for now he is someone else's to take care of unfortunately," she said with open regret.
?
"So you have to play along with him as best you can...If something happens and you slip up don't fret yourself too much about it, though," she added casually.
?
?
"As for how I knew about you, I have a few...lets call them witchy seers who work for me. Hoodoo boys as it were," she said with a slight shrug. "They saw you as some new important happening in the area so I came to check and they were right."
?
?
"They aren't my friends yet, but they are known to Victor and they need to soon be friends of all of us. I trust in you to make it happen," Keres said of Rena and Henry, giving the blonde's shoulder a reassuring squeeze. The fond gesture one sister may make to encourage another.
?
?
And then Cylas was back, the man he led in was even bigger. He was rough and dirty but a big man full of muscle not weak like the other.
?
"I bet him 100 quid you could beat him down," Cylas told Elisabeth with that same grin again, eyes knowing. "He don't think a girl can do it."
?
?
"I don't really need to hurt women what aren't runnin' their mouths, but I do want me my money so lets get this done," the big man said. "You get the first hit, Girlie."
?
Keres stood back and chuckled.
?
"Better make it fast because cCylass has no money," she told Elisabeth, haring the joke.

Re: Late Night Lab Work (Victor/Elizabeth)
Elizabeth slowly nodded her acquiescence. "Alright, I shall," she verbally confirmed and then a hint of a nagging doubt occurred to her. "But how can you know I would do so well? What makes you trust me thusly? Have such flattering but perhaps unjustified faith in me. I mean, I used to know my worth. I used to know me. But you have not. And you cannot even infer how well I would do, based on how well you did. On the account of us being such radically different people. So, what makes you believe in me? It's like you were watching me, like some guardian angel, I'd assume?
?
It's not that I disagree with you. Nor am I challenging you. I simply seek to understand where you are drawing your?belief from. Hoping perhaps to be infected with your optimism. To understand how one like me may be expected to rise above...to,,,I am sorry, I am rambling again. That act, of?culling the weak, it was so thrilling. I suppose if you cannot explain why you think I'd do great, I would just take your word for it. I think I am merely experiencing the?withdrawal of the thrilling feeling. I guess it means I would...slay gain, and be all the happier for it, again" Elizabeth marveled at herself, her good mood returning to replace the almost retreating doubt.
?
Intently listening to Keres, Elizabeth began repeatedly nodding, absorbing every word. "I think I do need one more," she slowly answered Cylas, a hint of smile curving her lips.
?
"I hope I will earn your respect in earnest, and make you proud," Elizabeth shyly?turned to Keres once more. "I...I may not be fully ready now, but I shall be, and after seeing what they're like, I will talk to your friends, and they will hear me," she unnecessarily repeated.?Although this?has been?the plan Keres had laid out for her, now Elizabeth felt certain that she would?be able to execute it.

"Tell them everything or be subtle. I trust you to feel the situation out and decide for yourself," Keres casually replied of Rena and Jekyll.
?
?
She settled back in her chair, crossing her legs.
?
"As for what would make them trust you...tell them who your husband is and that you have no love for him."
?
She gave a soft chuckle.
?
"I promise that's all it shall take."
?
When Elisabeth asked about the servant prospects she smiled.
"I found Cylas and decided that he would work for me some time ago. I pay him far more than he likely deserves for his loyalty so it is all mine," Keres said calmly as they waited.
"Servants can draw too much attention if one is surrounded by too many but if you feel the need for one, simply find one and decide? how you wish to make him work for you/."
?
She smiled.
?
?
"Our methods may differ, after all, and I'd never tell a fellow lady how to get things done," she said almost primly.
?
"Cylas loves the work and the money."
?
?
When said servant returned, he and Keres exchanged a pleased look then returned top watching Elisabeth.
?
"You can put them where ever you like or leave them for the authorities to become confused over." she shrugged casually.
?
"Whatever pleases your mood. Just have a care not to be noticed or use a disguise. And don't allow yourself to be caught."
?
?
Cylas approached and lifted the body casually as one would do a rag doll.
?
"Want another," he asked Elisabeth.

Re: Late Night Lab Work (Victor/Elizabeth)
Elizabeth found herself surprised at the nonchalant manner in which Keres commanded her servant. Her initial impulse may have been to wonder if the man servant was that trustworthy, but as soon as her mouth opened into an inquisitive O shape, she realized the pointlessness of her inquiry. Of course he had to be with Keres for some time. That was evident from his casual response to her wishes. The man did not even blink an eye. If anything, the opposite was true. Elizabeth may have been wrong, but she thought his considerable bulk moved with greater speed this one time, more so than before. As if the order made him somehow more eager.
?
Changing her mind about what?she was going to ask, Elizabeth forced her mouth?shut and then thoughtfully reopened it. "How long has he been with you? What makes him so cavalier about...well...murder. Is it the organization that provides servants like him? Could I get one? Well, naturally, I am too new in this game. But if I am deemed worthy and rise in the ranks, even smaller ranks compared to yours, would servants or bodyguards be assigned to me?" Elizabeth hopefully wondered.
?
"Because you are right, of course. I do need confidence. A job, you say? Well that sounds easy enough. Van I be candid with these people then? The same way you were with me? Or should I bring them in slowly? What would make them trust me in the first place? I feel like I was once a great hostess, a tolerable socialite, one may call it. But in those days I had nothing to hide and could just be myself. For all I know, there is some intrinsic charm in just being yourself, and until I am certain of being myself...Forgive me, I am so excited, and so frightened, that I am rambling again. How should I?approach them then, just be honest with them about what I know?" Elizabeth repeated her earlier question, her excitement making her forget the fact of the repetition.
?
Then, as Cylas returned, all other thoughts left her, leaving her with an eager anticipation of her...she would have thought victim once, but now the word "prey" mysteriously came to her mind instead. Such a pathetic individual, entirely unnecessary and weak. Throwing a curious look at the man servant, Elizabeth was trying to gauge his response, to see if he would mock her, or be aghast. Somehow she did not believe he could be aghast, after serving Keres herself, but she just lacked that certainty...Alright, that was enough indecision, the young woman realized and firmly moved towards the poor man, who was too occupied with the prospect of food to really watch her.
?
Not that he would have much of a chance at any rate, Elizabeth proudly considered, descending onto the unworthy human. Experimenting with her punches, and kicks, she could not decide if she wanted to squash his nuts first, or choke the breath out of him instead. But before she could decide, her experimental punches quickly made headway.?Blood was everywhere now and Elizabeth had to admit, she did not mind that scent in the least.
?
Looking up at her hostess, Elizabeth shyly wondered. "Did I do that?right? Is he, is it over? Is that the point where I carry him towards the Thames? What kind of covering should I use for the body then? Oh you are so wise, Keres. You seem to know everything. I do so wish to be like you," Elizabeth admitted and licked an unexpected?drop of blood from her own face. She never realized blood could travel thusly, but she knew, she could get used to this.????

"Cylas," Keres called suddenly. The servant hurried in and she smiled at him. "Go and find us a beggar man that Elisabeth can kill," she said calmly as though telling him to bring in some more scones. He nodded hastily. "Yes, Mistress," he said and hurried out chuckling to himself.
?
Keres settled back in her seat with a slight sigh. "Well take care of this now, Dear. You need to have confidence. Victor...As I told you earlier? he has done something to himself and it is a bit disturbing. Please do not tell him that you shared all this with me. Perhaps stating as much is unnecessary, but we like to be safe, you know..." another sip of her tea and she straightened slightly, looking at Elisabeth.
?
?
"I have another job for you.? Victor was invited to a dinner? party. Make sure you get to go. Those he has met are unaware of who he is, or they would not consider him a friend. I need you to befriend them and help to bring them to us."
?
?
?
"As for tracks, we can cover them if necessary, but it is annoying so be careful. Try to leave it to the back alleys or toss them into the Thames."
?
She was lifting a small cucumber sandwich when Cylas returned leading a thin man who wore soiled clothes. "See here is the food," Cylas said and the man came forward eagerly.
?
"Well Elisabeth, take him. He shall make good practice," Keres said, not bothering to stop eating. Her servant moved to stand in the doorway with a slight bemused smile on his face as he watched.

Re: Late Night Lab Work (Victor/Elizabeth)
"I thought so too, initially. Inanimate objects did not present any challenge to my growing power. I have assumed in my ignorance that the same could hold true for people. Perhaps it could. But when I was angry with Victor and fully intending to strike him, my palm into his face, he just...blocked it. I realized then that my reflexes were not infallible. I am not sure how he got to counter my attack. Perhaps he understood my impression or some such, though I did not expressly state that physical altercation was my purpose.
?
But something went wrong then. In truth, perhaps it was my arrogance speaking, but I was of the opinion that even if he were forewarned, a normal human should not be fast enough to halt the passage of my strike. But apparently I was wrong. I realized then that I was not all powerful, nor invincible. Victor?essentially blocked me with his bare hands. Other people might have canes, or weapons. If somebody?ostensibly feeble looking like Victor could undermine my intention so effortless, I fear somebody stronger would have less trouble.
?
At the very least, to be fully comfortable, I should be at least shown how to override such unexpected but plausible opposition. If I really am as invincible as I first perceived myself to be, then I should be trained in how to use my superior strength to its full capacity. Because another insurmountable obstacle like Victor, and I might give up. This quest for power is too new for me, and I find myself too uncertain of who I am. A woman of your talents might consider me weak, and may be right, but I feel myself to be ignorant, basically like a newborn, who managed to make a few?correct steps by accident of nature.?Oh I would love to...vent my fury onto the miserable hearts who deserve it, I just would not wish to be stopped so easily because I an lacking a trick or two," Elizabeth sighed, uncertain if Keres could understand her doubts or appreciate them.

"You are high in the hierarchy. Does it mean you have the power to cover up mu tracks should I do something incorrectly at first? If so,, I am willing to try..." the young woman thoughtfully added. |

"Training is for mere mortals. You are now stronger and faster Elisabeth Darling. Just use your new skills to evade those who can be evaded or to kill those who can't."
?
Keres smirked.
?
"Thanks to Victor, after all, they would kill you if they could. Were they to know...or look too closely at you until I get your skin fixed. Which won't take long," she added quickly.
?
"But remember that you're better now...more now. You can turn this thing that Victor did to you into something that breaks you. That leaves you as twisted as he and thus match yourself to him as a perfect couple for all eternity. OR..."She paused for impasses, sipping her tea and carefully replacing the cup in the saucer.
?
"You can become a powerful woman who answers to no one and takes exactly what you want."
?
"As for the others, they are fine with whatever I say. I'm not the leader, but as far as anyone you will ever meet in concerned, I am the closest thing. If they encounter higher than me, it isn't likely for a good reason that would please them," she said, with a slight cold smile not directed at Elisabeth herself.
?
Her eyes softened when Elisabeth asked about her husband. "No I didn't change. We work together. We don't do any of the killing and such...Not unless necessary. We work with science. That's why I can help your skin. And we keep things organized and running smoothly toward our goals. As for what makes him special...He can see things...see beyond things and thus gain an understanding that sane men consider mad. This is not the case, though," she said softly.

Re: Late Night Lab Work (Victor/Elizabeth)
"Alright, Robbing deserving people sounds exciting. I could see myself doing that. But what if that is not realistic? I was never a person of the streets. I mean, I don't know. Don't you need to have a special outlook on things. To have training about how to escape speedily. How to avoid detection...I think I read something like that in a book about an orphan who grew up to be a thief. He was?smart and quick, but had to be mentored. I am older of course, but when I have been alive the first time, I always regarded it passively. And now that I am stronger, do I truly know how to use my strength or speed? Do you think you can show me how to do such a thing? Or can the organization send somebody to train me covertly? I would do what I can otherwise. But if there is?some risk to draw attention, well, I wouldn't want my inexperience to put other lives in jeopardy, lives that I value at least..." Elizabeth spoke with a soft smile directed at Keres.
?
"So you surrendered your power to the man you love? It is not surprising in itself, only strange that it could possibly apply to a confident woman like yourself. So, did you stop killing or robbing when you got married? If so, why the change. Was your husband not alright with you exerting your will on others, punishing them as only the likes of us can? Did he resent you killing then because his soul is pacifistic? How interesting. What do the two of you have in common then? So what makes your husband powerful, if not his superior strength and violence then what? Money?" Elizabeth wondered but was only too happy to talk about her own life again.
?
"You don't think I need training? Would the other members of the organization be alright with me simply,,,starting out? Is there a territory I am not supposed to venture into, held by another agent??Or am I free to go anywhere? What about the constables? If there are any who wish to give pursuit, am I allowed to harm them when necessary. To disarm them, or even...well...kill them?" Elizabeth inquired, surprising even herself for sounding so wistful. ?? |

?
Casually she sipped at her tea again.
?
"As for power, I was just as powerful before meeting my husband if not more so to be honest," She said softly, light blue eyes thoughtful as they stared off into the distance. "I was very driven by work and little more. By exploration, by power. Love weakens one, Elisabeth."
?
?
"No he did not kill those who locked him away. He merely got himself away from them and he has his own power right now. He currently works for our organization in more? subtle ways. He does not have a violent soul, you see. But you...I see it in you for wrongs were done to you of a far deeper nature and if you wish to release that on those who deserve it, Dear, you need no instruction for Victor has kindly made you faster and stronger than those who you would come up against. Re: Late Night Lab Work (Victor/Elizabeth)
"Well, that is true. I would wish to be like you. You are so smart, strong and confident. It is everything I like, but perhaps your beauty makes a difference. I used to be beautiful and that may have given me confidence about who I was. Now, I may wish to be like you, but how can I be? I suppose if I have enough money, I could have men serve me too. Only how would I make that much of my own? I suppose I could concede your point. I don't truly need a man, except as a provider. I could live on my own, I wouldn't miss Victor very much. Certainly not the man he has become. Nor do I have any carnal desires for him, or any man for that matter. In theory then, I could be quite independent, if I had the means to support myself. How did you find the means to support yourself, before you met your man? Perhaps to be like you, I need to start with a few basic steps, especially how to provide for myself.
?
Was he a heretic then? I am not sure how they would be afraid of someone greater, instead of appreciating them. What did he do, threaten them with his greatness? Those are strange tines indeed. I may live through them, but barely do I understand them. Of course, if you are correct, perhaps my time has been the past and is now gone? I would rather remain myself though, than change with the times. If I can. If I only can. Can I though? Is there enough left of me anymore?" Elizabeth grimly wondered, not even noticing how she incorporated the story of Keres' husband into her own.
?
"Yes, tea, I could always use more tea. But if your husband was locked away for his greatness, would I not be apprehended and locked away for?similar attempts? Did he hint down lesser beings too? did he punish though vulgar brutes, their angry leering faces? Oh how I would love to punish them, so long as I remain undetected. Surely there must be more to this than simply coming out at night. Are you able to teach me how to slay? Or?if you're not, can the organization send another who can?
?
In fact, I would not object if they tried to teach me how to be one of them, one of you, on Victor. If they managed to take him down for his crimes, without being caught, well, perhaps I could learn to imitate their work. Do you think so, Keres dear? Do you think I truly can be like you? That I have what it takes to learn?" Elizabeth wondered hopefully, her tears finally drying out. ? |
Locked
Re: Late Night Lab Work (Victor/Elizabeth)
"Women of your age had to sit and wait on a man to make them safe. I make myself great. That is the difference between myself and those few women like me and women of your day and so often women in general. Do you wish to be a woman like me, Elisabeth? I have men serving me. I married the man I wanted, and not because I wanted him to take care of me or needed it but because I wanted to take him to bed and didn't want anyone else touching him. + I wanted to get him out of the mental hospital," she added with a chuckle. "They locked him away for being greater than they were, you see. Something they saw as different and they feared."
?
Keres took a sip of her tea, calmly gazing at Elisabeth though her eyes were intense. She didn't speak as a woman speaking of such strange unheard of things or ideas because to her they were as they should be.
?
"Small people who fear lock us away or call us monsters because they fear. We stand together and make what is great and superior even greater. As for how you can find those who should be...put down, simply walk the London streets at? night, Dear Elisabeth. They will surely find you," she said with a low confidential laugh.
?
"More tea," she asked with a polite smile.
?
"Yes Victor is...thoughtless. He likely believed he could keep you sheltered and thus lie to you, but this is not his first oversight. He has committed many of those. I must ask you not to inform him of my...or our group's awareness of him. It would complicate things you see. Now if you happen to do anything to him well that's hardly my business," she said with a chuckle and airy wave of the hand.

I'm friends with the monster that's under my bed. I get along with the voices inside of my head. |
