Re: A life changing event, Vlad/Lucy

A flash of anger flared in Vlad's eyes, though he forced himself to calm.

"We are at the home of friends," he replied and banged on the door, annoyed, when the knob did not turn.

Before long a young woman with long dark hair opened the door, a slight frown on her face.

"What do you want?"

"Are you aware how many people die for speaking to me like that," Vlad snapped pushing bast her.

"Sorry, Sariel," she replied with a sigh.

"I am sorry because you keep forgetting that you need me...us. What is she doing here and..."

"Leave us," he interrupted the dark haired woman and in one swift gesture, drew Lucy hard into his arms, hungrily sinking her teeth into her throat.

Were Lucy to be of a mind to observe, she may notice that the woman only stared for a moment without changing expression before turning and calmly leaving the room.

Re: A life changing event, Vlad/Lucy

"Immortality? more strength than mortals." Lucy laughed, patronisingly. "The way you talk, i think you've been reading too many fantasy novels. Anyway, enough about me, we're here to find mina. where are we anyway?"

Re: A life changing event, Vlad/Lucy

"What if you could have immortality? Strength and power above mortals," Vlad asked, keeping his tone light and curious as he turned down the path toward a house.
"How would you feel about that?"

He didn't even glance at Lucy as he moved up to the door of the house, and rattled the knob. IT was locked. Annoyed, he knocked. To be fair he hadn' said he was coming.

In response to Vlad's inquiry, Lucy smiled and replied. "Wel, i am in no hurry to meet someone yet."

Re: Calling on the doctor. Tag: Natari, others.t

He quickly jot it down, none with premonitions, so far as we know. He nodded win Natari Spoke of some?vampires being more sociable than she, and some less. More sociable? He gave her a look of honest surprise.

He slowly shook his head in thought when she spoke of having to make themselves known to mortals. Not necessarily, he replied with some hesitation; ?just as those in law-enforcement must study and learn how to use various weapons and means of subduing criminals, perhaps it could also be part of their studies to learn the truth about vampires. You would be a sort of, secret force, known only to those select few law enforcers. ? Perhaps it would be that, you would show up on a specific night in question, when the condemned was to have his life taken from him, and do the deed, without other people watching.

His interest seemed to focus even more on her when she asked if he would like to know the future if he could. I have always believed my future to be in hands?much higher than mine, and while I do trust him with my future, I must admit that there is, a part of me that often would like to know, especially if I could use science or other means to modify it for the betterment of mankind, and…, Others. He gave her a poignant look, so that she would know he was speaking specifically of her and her kind.

His expression brightened at her idea of posing as??his assistant, that is a beautiful idea, he replied. ? Who knows, perhaps you could help me in making and perfecting this potion. He wondered to himself if she?weren’t actually considering making him one of them, as she was, in some ways he thought he might like it, he thought of the speed and heightened senses, they might be useful to him, but then, to never see the sun again, to never eat food, again? He could not picture it, and yet, if he found the formula that could make them human again, then the same thing would apply to him. ?he was not sure at present what he would do if actually offered the chance to become one of them. ?this may sound rather silly, but I can’t help but wonder what might happen with a mixture of vampire and human blood, he mused?aloud.

Re: Calling on the doctor. Tag: Natari, others.t

?
"Um, I honestly don't know," Natari said thoughtfully to Dr Van Helsing's question of vampires having premonitions.
?
"I've never known any who did. There are vampires more social than I and some far less...so I'm not an authority by any means. If they had such as mortals I would guess it could carry over, perhaps even be enhanced but I honestly never heard of it. Nor have I heard of anyone complaining that they lost their abilities though. It's a thing I would be interested to know. Would you wish to know the future if you could? For my part only if I could change it, I think."
?
?
When he asked if she could see herself working in law enforcement as an executioner she smiled.
?
"I'd be glad to, but we would have to make ourselves known to mortals to do so and it's too much of a risk. I'm sure someone has taken it upon themselves to take a condemned man's life a day or so clearly, though when it's feasible to do so."
?
?
She sighed.
?
?
"Secrecy is a must...because of people like you...or rather as you were."
?
?
When he spoke of having a thousand years, she was tempted to give him just that not for the first time. What a grand joke it would be...ironic, but then again would he not truly make an interesting vampire? Of course he would.
?
But she rather liked him to her surprise and as such would cause him no distress or force him against his will. Instead she nearly wanted to be a protector of sorts against the others, though the idea was foolish because how could she protect against so many, one with a bloody disconcerting ability and her not even a vampire...Not but something bout her put Natari in mind of them nonetheless.
?
?
"What I I pose as your assistant. You will be working with them during the evening often, so if I am here I can keep you safe. What do you think?"
?
?
Oh Oliver would be angry that she's offered that and for this she truly was sorry.? She as over her vexation with him for the way he'd behaved. She knew he considered her nearly a sister and meant well. Just the way he'd gone about it, chaining her with silver to prove a point,?had made her anger worse.

Re: The exchanging of unbelievable information, Henry, Rena, Leti, Oliver

?
When Dr. Henry spoke of fun with machines and torture, Leti looked ill.
?
?
She looked up distractedly when the doctor asked her opinion of Victor.
?
"I...I don't know. He seemed kind enough I suppose. Sad...Dull. I didn't really think on it much, but I will pay more attention at the party," she added quickly, wanting to prove her use.
?
?
Oliver's expression became incredulous when Henry called his overly thing self brawny.? The doctor himself was a far larger man by far, though granted without the vampiric strength possessed by Oliver himself. He understood the meaning but the choice of words was unsuitable, likely intentionally so for the doctor's own amusement. Oliver frowned at him, and made no comment until the comment about his lot n life changing.
?
?
"I need no money from you. I have more than you will ever see, and only tarry with you until the novelty and uniqueness wears off as it surely will."
?
?
Though that may take some time, he knew.
?
?
"I feel it's more the case that you find yourself frightened and in need of being surrounded by those you can trust."
?
He smiled pleasantly, enjoying his own joke now, even if he was the only one to find it funny.
?
?
Oliver laughed shortly at the idea of being considered a country bumpkin simply because he did not live in the heart of London.
?
?
"I agree, a patient of yours sounds more credible considering my flattering appearance," he said dryly, not one to pretend to a doctor that the plague had not left its mark on him centuries ago.
?
"We have struck up a friendship during your treatment of me and we share similar interests of scientific exploration, mine more induced out of a need for a faster stronger recovery," he speculated, leaving it to Henry to decide upon the final details as he knew better the reaction of his scientific equals.

"Oh well, but my idea of a friendly party, and that of Reynolds as well, would actually include both. Machines, fun with machines, a little bit of torture, what's not to like, I ask you," Hyde happily objected.
?
"Ah yes, dearest Victor. Well, I do not know what to make of him. At times he strikes me as a shy well intended scientist, at other times like a bumbling idiot, and on other occasions still, as a conniving little bastard. Is any of it true? I would not hazard to guess. My appraisal of people is usually more consistent than that. I can see what they are like. I rather have to, to make sure. But this one, my reactions to him were as flippant as his own erratic behavior which was a little disturbing, especially since I would still like to figure out his secrets. What did you think of him Leticia??Have your savage instincts managed to?penetrate the wimpy little puzzle of a man?" Henry thoughtfully wondered, frowning in confusion.
?
"You are cordially invited, of course. Since I have enlisted you to serve as my brawny acolyte, you shall accompany me on many?occasions now. Much like Leticia here, your lot in life is about to change for the better. In your case because of our enlightened and entertaining companionship to balance out your grim reaper persona," Henry expensively responded,?the wave of his right arm presumably indicating his magnanimity.
?
"Well if it were anybody else, I would explain Oliver as a dedicated aficionado, but looking at his dour expression, that might be rather difficult to accept as a given. Who do you want to be Oliver? My medical associate? A random scientist? Or?my elevated patient whose attention one has to?earn with considerable efforts? I think that last one has the most promise in truth. But if you prefer to be some?colleague of mine, equally disenchanted with modern science...I suppose that could almost pass for credible. Or, to make it even less simple and avoid all confusion, you could be my country bumpkin of a cousin. What do you say to that dear fellow," Henry cheerfully suggested.???

"So rather than a friendly dinner party you want to actually allow us to see this machine in action,"Oliver said.
"I can find someone to be the...recipient, surely. It is no problem. Just say when."

"We have that dinner party tomorrow night at yours for seeing what Victor is about, remember," Rena said.

Leti sat looking pensieve. She didn't think she wanted to see the frightful thing in action, but she'd not say so.? The Reynolds man couldn't get to her, not with Dr. Henry and Oliver and rena all there with her she assured herself.

"I'd go as your assistant, but what'll you tell him Oliver is doing with us," she asked.

"He's the young man that was with them last night," Leti replied, not seeing how it mattered.
?
"A pity I didn't know then that you wanted his brain picked," Oliver remarked with a shrug.

As they walked, she answered his question. “I’m not sure, she’s never told me. Most likely, she’ll want to settle down with someone eventually.”

Re: A life changing event, Vlad/Lucy

"I'll show you," vlad said.

He walked a respectful distance away while remaining close enough not to have the girl stray in the dark. He led her to the small house he'd rented, also downtown it was several blocks away, around a fifteen minute walk at the annoying speed which mortals had to move. Doing so himself took a concerted effort and most of his focus.
"So...Mina..." he asked. "What does she want from life, do you know?"

He knew the question sounded odd but was unable to resist the urge to learn anything he could use to help him...to win her he supposed. He hadn't had to try before and she had somehow seemed to recognize him when he'd thrown the dagger from across the room. He knew once he explained, she'd be glad to help him take his enemies down. At least Ilona would've and she looked so similar it had nearly made him freeze in place when he'd seen her there. Of course history seemed to have repeated itself as she was once more in the clutches of his enemy...But this time he'd played it better, he hoped at least.

Re: A life changing event, Vlad/Lucy

At this news, Lucy was frantic and her first thought was to get to Mina as soon as possible. The question was should she go with this man, a complete stranger, or continue onwards? How could she go home now? Her best friend needed her and what sort of a friend would she be if she ignored her request?
"Ok then, i'll go, where is she?”

"Yes she was stabbed," Vlad told Lucy.
?
"She is recovering, but she was asking for you. I can take you to her if you will come with me."
?
If she wouldn't trust him, he had other plans, but for Ilona...no Mina's sake he would attempt to treat her friend well. It would give him an opportunity as well. A unique one to learn more of his Mina in this incarnation. Perhaps her likes and dislikes did not matter in the larger scheme but it could be interesting to learn of them.

As Lucy Westenra trudged home from a night out, she pondered the nights events, for what they were. She had arrived at the place where her and Mina had decided to go for a few drinks but as the night ?had continued, she and Mina had been separated in the dark.?
She had tried to find her but to no avail, so resignedly, she left and was on her way home when she felt a light touch on her elbow and then a mans voice asking her name and something about Mina being injured. At his words, she spun around. "yes, i'm Lucy Westenra, where's mina?"?

He hated the fact he'd had to make the choice he had only hours ago. He hated not turning Ilona...no now she was Mina...Turning her himself. It had been harder than he'd imagined to bet on Katherina saving her so he could use her against them, but he had to. His brother had to be stopped and most importantly of all to pay and he knew Ilona would've wanted to be a pat of that. He was part of the reason she'd been lost him centuries ago along with everything else.
?
?
If Katerina hadn't saved her he would've interceded. He just hoped she believed that. And now for a peace offering.? He'd heard her telling Katerina she'd gotten lost on the street, tipsy she had gotten separated from her friend, Lucy...and he tracked the woman by scent, because hers still clung to Mina, the two having spent enough time together.
?
He watched her walking for a moment, then slid up behind her, a stocky bearded man in gentleman's clothing. Extending a gloved hand, he touched her elbow lightly before hastily dropping his hand away.? To speak to a lady out on the street and alone was the height of social inappropriateness but under the circumstances he believed he could get away with it.
?
"Excuse me, are you Lucy? Your friend Mina was injured and is looking for you," he said, Transilvanian accent heavy around each word.

Re: The Birth Of Katherine Pierce

?
Mina felt conflicted, confused, and frightened.? This was all feeling more than out of her depth.? Oddly she found herself thinking of the one who'd tried to kill her, looking at her with such calm steady and pleading eyes as if he expected something from her...While killing her? A? surge of anger at him served to ground her.
?
?
"The man...did you see through her eyes? He threw a dagger at me or something...something sharp, I think? He called your name. Katerina. Was he talking to you or her and why? I mean do you have any theories? Because any shed light right now would be something..."
?
?
She let out a shaky breath.
?
"As you were honest with me I wish to be honest with you.? It's only fair. I...she was kind to me...So I'm not sure I feel right killing her...Still what she did to you wasn't right either unless...was it her husband who did it? Is there not something we could do for both of you?"
?
She just wished she had more information or knew...who to trust. If either would lie or if both were victims.? If only this weren't on her shoulders to settle. She as no judge and truly felt out of her depth. + the new pressing hunger was uncomfortable.
?
It was, in its way, almost funny though...She certainly wasn't bored or fretting about wasting her life marrying John.? No right now she was about as far from that as she could ever get.

Re: The Birth Of Katherine Pierce

Katherine let her fingertips fall away from her temple as her gaze drifted to Mina in the hopes she hadn’t made a mistake in trusting the other woman with her story. Her initial response to the question was a single nod. “Yes. It’s Elisabeta. At? the start it was her who you were speaking with then it sort of went back and forth as we each fought for control.”

?

She cursed not being able to go after a Travelers knife herself but if her search led her to someone who was loyal to Vlad then they’d utter the magic word and she’d be locked away inside her own body again. “Allies of her husband were concerned he’d become ‘unhinged’ following her death so they worked out a deal with the Travelers who captured me. The next thing I knew she was a passenger inside my body.”

?

There was a look of relief in her eyes when it seemed she’d made the right call when choosing to share everything with Mina. “I just...need someone to find a Travelers knife and to stab me with said knife. It only kills the passenger. If that happens I get my life back.” At times she questioned whether she wanted to go back to a life on the run from the psychopath who slaughtered her entire family.

?

“It’s hard to say who he was after because she’d taken to using my name to cover for one of the times I regained control. But I had sent word to the man whom her husband masquerades as in the hope he’d be willing to help me since we have both had our lives stolen so to speak. I suppose it could have been him but I cannot be sure.”

?

The doppelg?nger shifted as she let her other hand drop back down at her side as she carefully studied the woman for any indication of what she might be thinking outside of what appeared to be nervousness. “She was able to take control after a spell the Travelers used to as they call it ‘passenger’ her inside of me. Once that was done and they called her forth she had taken over my body.”

?

She cast a quick look around to be sure none of the Travelers were about. “No. It isn’t commonly practice in the supernatural world.” To be honest she’d never heard of it being done other than by the Travelers themselves.?

"Could be a compromise to killing him," he added, understanding Rebecca's reluctance to kill her own brother as well as the conflict.

Re: Life in London

Rebekah did so hate his being right about the chain of events once their brother learned about Ben. It was always the same story whenever she developed an interest in someone because Klaus either thought they weren’t ‘good enough’ or was afraid if he allowed them to be together he would lose her. “Kill Nik?” She looked at him in surprise.?

?

It was something she’d considered on more than one occasion through the centuries but at the end of the day he was still her brother. Their relationship was a complicated one given she both loved and hated him in equal measure. “Don’t you ever get tired of not being able to build a life with someone?” She honestly did not expect an answer from Kol.?

?

She at times found herself wondering what it was that altered their brother’s views on love. Had it been Tatia’s death or Aurora’s rejection of him? If she thought for one moment that Niklaus would have an honest conversation without deflecting she’d ask about it but he’d become so paranoid and obsessed with power that she very much doubted that he would.

?

Her gaze shifted to Ben once more as he posed a question about their brother. She thought about it a moment before responding. “I suppose it’s possible Nik would spare someone he found useful but...there’s no guarantee.” She didn’t want? to be the one who got Ben killed and knew if she stayed in his life that would be precisely what happened.?
