Locked Mikaelson Property: Inside the Barn (Hayley/Samantha)

While Hayley would never admit as much she did have her doubts about how this conversation might play out with all that had transpired since giving this woman her word. To be honest it wouldn't surprise her if Samantha was unable to trust a single thing she said but either way she would at the very least have made the effort.?

?

She pushed open the door to the barn stepping inside only once she was certain that neither Freya nor Elijah were present. ¡°Here goes nothing.¡± Words spoken barely above a whisper as the Hybrid approached their captive. Seeing a werewolf chained up was never easy but under the given circumstances it was even harder to stomach.?

?

¡°We need to talk.¡± She stated while kneeling down in front of the dark haired woman to meet her gaze.

?

?

?

?

?

?

¡°Oh we do?¡± Samantha bit out as she stared angrily at the woman who had decided to grace her with her presence. This all started because she'd been careless enough to assume that anyone connected with the Mikaelsons would be capable of holding up their end of a bargain. And now she was expected to what? Accept whatever scraps they offered?

?

?

?

?

?

?

¡°You¡¯re pissed. I get it. But just hear me out, okay?¡± Hayley stared back at the bound werewolf seeing anger burning brightly inside those brown eyes. If her luck held this conversation would go relatively smoothly and without interruption.?

?

?

?

?

?

Samantha gave the chains binding her wrists a tug subtly searching her immediate surroundings for something she could use to pick the lock. ¡°Now why would I do a thing like that?¡± Inclining her head as she carefully studied the face of her captor not really expecting to hear anything that would come even remotely close to changing her mind.?

?

All of this time of quiet reflection had brought the anger she felt at the Malraux being hunted to the brink of extinction five years ago bubbling back to the surface. Because of the ambition of a damned vampire she lost everything¡her family¡their pack.

?

?

?

?

?

?

¡°I¡¯m here to offer you a deal.¡± Hayley began seeing no reason to draw things out any longer than was necessary.?

?

?

?

?

?

?

¡°A deal?¡± Samantha inquired a bit skeptically.?

?

?

?

?

?

?

Hayley gave a single nod before continuing. ¡°If you help us protect our daughter then¡you get a room in the house¡as a guest¡no more chains. This comes from Klaus.¡± She just hoped he wouldn't change his mind on the matter but with the safety of their little girl at stake and his focus seemingly on surrounding Hope with those who could help protect her it was unlikely he'd go back on his word.

?

Holding off on bringing up turning Samantha until she saw whether she'd be willing to take the deal.

?

?

?

?

?

¡°And the wolfsbane?¡± Samantha was tired of suffering its effects on a daily basis if ?she never experienced them again it would be too soon. Not that she entirely believed this little deal to be on the level but if it were¡it might be worth considering.?

?

?

?

?

?

?

¡°If you take the deal¡I can safely promise no one will be injecting you with wolfsbane any time soon.¡± Hayley assured while taking a brief look around the inside of the barn then letting her gaze return to the werewolf. ¡°As much as you might hate it¡we¡¯re your best shot because anyone looking to take down the Mikaelsons will be gunning for you because without you there's no saving them from Marcel¡¯s bite.¡±

?

?

?

?

?

?

Samantha was on the fence about taking this deal until that little matter of a gigantic target being painted squarely on her back was brought up. Not being one to possess suicidal tendencies there seemed only one plausible option here. ¡°Fine. I¡¯ll help protect the girl.¡± She hated having her fate so closely tied to that of the Originals.?

Hayley moved over to where she remembered the key was hidden digging around in the toolbox until fingers found the small metallic item. She was relieved that the proposed deal had been accepted. ¡°There's something you should know.¡± It was a card she was uncertain about playing though thought it might help matters since the werewolf hadn't hidden her displeasure.
?
She bent down unlocking the chains while looking her in the eye. ¡°Klaus killed the one responsible for killing your pack.¡± It was her hope that this bit of information along with the fact he'd supported the deal she¡¯d offered would help smooth things over.?

Samantha weakly rubbed at her wrists once the chains were off, silently mulling over the revelation of who had in a sense gotten vengeance for the deaths of both her family and their pack. She seriously doubted it had been done for that reason as it was far more likely it had to do with his own family being in the crosshairs.
?
She attempted to get to her feet but within an instant had almost lost her balance due to the prolonged effects of the wolfsbane injections.?

Hayley quickly reached out to steady the werewolf then began helping her walk out of the barn toward the house. ¡°It may take some timed¡and a lot of rest but your strength will come back.¡± Having someone else to help protect their daughter was something that would be a relief to Klaus as well.?
?
It was then that she remembered the other matter that needed to be discussed but couldn't think of a subtle build up to the subject of turning. Maybe the bandaid approach was best but she needed to make it clear it was her choice that no one would force it on her. ¡°One of us could turn you.¡±
?
There was a long pause before she said anything more on the matter. ¡°You would be stronger¡harder to kill and becoming the wolf would be something that could be controlled you would no longer be at the mercy of the full moon and the pain would be gone.¡±

Hayley was still dealing with a lingering sense of shock over how well the conversation about becoming a hybrid had gone as she'd expected there to be a great deal more argument than was offered but she would take whatever win she could get with her daughter's safety on the line. While things hadn't ended with an immediate ¡®yes¡¯ at least Samantha was considering it.
?
She came back downstairs after checking on Hope to wait for their new houseguest to finish freshening up. It seemed like the least she could do after the woman had spent so much time chained up in a barn like some kind of animal. It was something she would fight like hell to keep from happening again.
?
Pausing in the middle of the living room she could focused her senses in order to listen for any sign of either one of the Mikaelsons who might cause trouble about the relocation of the last living Malraux. When neither seemed to be around at the moment she continued into the kitchen where she set about gathering the necessary items for making sandwiches figuring Samantha must be hungry.

Samantha got dressed following a nice warm shower, something which had taken a little longer than expected due to her weakened state but she'd managed. It certainly helped her to start feeling better though the effects of wolfsbane were still a bit stronger than she'd like but lessening as time went on without another injection.
?
She kept her pace slow and steady as she left the bathroom headed toward the stairs at the end of the hall. Pausing each time she neared a doorway half expecting either witch or vampire to jump her, something that would no doubt be followed by the pinprick of a needle then the burning sensation of wolfsbane entering her system once more.
?
It was shocking to think she was even willing to consider becoming a hybrid and maybe she would have dismissed it instantly were it not for certain aspects being thought to be appealing. If her parents were alive what path would she choose? She supposed it didn't what the answer to that question might be since they were killed five years ago along with their pack.
?
Fortunately, no one blocked her way as she made it to the end of the hall and started down the stairs. If not for the promise of a meal she would have retreated to the bedroom Hayley had prepared to get some sleep as rest was something she hoped would speed up her recovery time.
?
Moments later she entered the kitchen making typical small talk with the other woman to avoid discussing the loss of her family and their pack. Though the question of whether Klaus Mikaelson had indeed killed the vampire responsible did keep popping up in the back of her mind.?
