Locked Salvatore Boarding House: Kitchen (Klaus/Bonnie)

 

Bonnie was doing her best to keep in mind this might be one of those rare instances when he was genuinely here seeking help with something that didn't involve the harming of those ¡®near and dear¡¯ to her. ¡°It sort of became like this project for Caroline after the funeral. She and Alaric wanted to create a safe place for those like their girls to be able to learn not only a regular education but how to control their abilities.¡±

The past year hadn't been an easy one¡­some were adjusting better than others but she supposed that was to be expected. She led the way into the kitchen where they stood the best chance of not being interrupted at this hour. ¡°So, what is that you need my help with?¡± The question passed her lips within an instant of turning around as she lightly leaned up against the counter with arms folded above her chest.?

She remembered it being said this would be about protecting his daughter as Hayley had told her that much over the phone.?
 

Klaus tried to hide how impressed he was with the school. He said as she explained ¡°so I guess you could call this Hogwarts for the Supernatural.¡± He smirked to himself and contiuned ¡°I do believe my dear departed friend Stefan would be Happy to see what has been done.¡± He followed Bonnie into the kitchen as he tried to remain focused .??Everything going on and on top of Taila being back has thrown him off.

Klaus took a breath and looked at bonnie as he looked around the kitchen witch seemed to have had some changes done since he was last there. He ran his finger over the counter top and said ¡°I know its a lot given our past. Perhaps my many attempts on you and your friends lives.¡± Klaus smirked at the memories. He continued ¡°but as you guess I need your help.??My daughter Hope is being attacked. By what we are unsure of. My sister Freya cannot find the source. As skilled as she is we need your help. not only to figure out what is coming after her but to also to protect her. where I cannot.¡±
 

¡°Can't say that I¡¯m all that concerned with what would make Stefan happy.¡± Bonnie was still finding it rather difficult to forgive the younger Salvatore brother for what he'd done in spite of his sacrifice because it hadn't changed the fact it was his fault Enzo was dead nor did it erase the image of a hand ripping out his heart right before her eyes from her memory.?

¡°You really want to be bringing up the past right now?¡± She asked with one eyebrow raised as reminders of attempts made on the lives of her friends would hardly help his case. If it were simply about him¡­.she would have said ¡®go to hell¡¯ and left it at that.?

¡°I¡¯ll help keep her safe in spite of our past because at the end of the day she's just an innocent little girl.¡± She hoped agreeing to do so wasn't something she¡¯d soon regret as she hadn't forgotten who it was she was dealing with. Tilting her head a little the Bennett witch decided to ask about something else that concerned her. ¡°What is she to you?¡± She asked of Tatia naturally worried the woman was seen as an opportunity to create more hybrids.?
 

Klaus listened to bonnie.??He was rather surprised by her reaction when he had mention Stefan.??He guessed more went on the five years that he missed than he expected. He said ¡°true enough. I dunno what happen between you and Stefan.??Though it doesn¡¯t matter.??You have done wonders for the place.¡± He ignored her comment about brign up the past.??He was shocked she actually accepted to help hope.???He said ¡°I appreciate you helping her.??if something happen to her. well I don¡¯t know if I could keep my promise.¡±

Klaus frowned slightly when bonnie brought up Talia.??He sighed and said ¡°she means a lot to me if you must know.??There is a lot of history. I know what your thinking.???you think I want to use her for hybrids.??I never knew she was back.??Im trying to turn over a new leaf so to speak.??I have made a promise I tend to try and keep.??As much as I would like to make more hybrids to protect hope I will not do so forcefully??if I chose to do that.¡±
 

¡°He killed someone I loved¡­ripped his heart out right in front of me.¡± Bonnie knew better than to think this would make any difference in his mind but the way he'd suggested it didn't matter had struck a bit of a nerve. Quickly averting her gaze in an attempt at hiding the flicker of sadness caused by the memory of Enzo.?

It might be utterly pointless to have any sense of hope that he might be out there somewhere based on their discovery of two women who were back from the dead. She needed to be realistic about this. ¡°No one here would hurt an innocent child so anything that might happen would not be their fault.¡±

Tipping her head to the side at seeing the frown on his face. ¡°When she talked about you it was almost like she was talking about someone else altogether because it didn't sound like the man we knew.¡± If he were being honest and this Petrova doppelg?nger was indeed important to him for reasons beyond the creation of hybrids then maybe there was a chance he really was trying to change.?

¡°Also after she told us how she died we did our best to explain things like witches and vampires to her.¡± There was a slight hesitation before adding. ¡°Tatia¡¯s afraid of your brother¡­needless to say.¡±
 

Klaus listened and saw the sadness in her face even if bonnie tried to hide it.??he didn¡¯t mention it any further.??He didn¡¯t want bonnie to reconsider helping hope. Plus he knew how it felt watching someone you love die in front of you.

Klaus listened to bonnie speak about Tatia.??He sighed and said ¡°she spoke about me?¡±??Klaus was wondering what she said about him.??Though he imagine it wasn¡¯t all great.??He sighed and said ¡°things were a lot different back then. Her death had hurt me/??I blamed myself for her death.??I only learned recently that Elijah killed her.?though this all is my mothers fault.??She forced the changes upon us. I remember seeing Tatias face seeing me after my first hybrid change before she died. Elijah doesn¡¯t know shes back of course shes safe. I want let him near her til shes ready to face him.??Im sure he would like to apologize to her.¡±

¡°Yeah, she did.¡± Bonnie was almost thankful when the conversation seemed to focus on the doppelg?nger both he and his brother supposedly loved way back when instead of forcing her to relive every detail of the day Enzo was killed right before her eyes. ¡°She said that you used to carve things out of wood¡­and described you as being far less concerned with power than the Klaus we know.¡±

It had been weird hearing him talked about in that light after all of her own personal experiences in the past. ¡°I think to some small degree she was or is afraid of you as well but I¡¯m guessing since she's willing to talk with you that it's something she thinks it's possible to work through.¡± Giving a slight shrug of her shoulders.?

¡°We did our best to explain everything because we felt that if she knew about vampires¡­werewolves¡­and well¡­witches it'd make things a bit easier on her when she encountered them. So far that approach seems to have helped but I make no promises that she¡¯ll ever be okay with Elijah since he was the one who killed her.¡±

She inclined her head looking off to the side then back again. ¡°Tatia still seems fond of you despite her last memory of you.¡± The reason behind those last words was a bit of a mystery even to her as she shouldn't have been concerned with making him feel better about himself or offering any encouragement when it came to future interactions with a certain doppelg?nger.
 

Klaus listen a small smile spread across his face.??He said ¡°yeah back then it was something to do to pass the time.??It was a symbol of love.??Or just to make someone you care about smile.¡±??he sighed and said ¡°I guess it be called art now. things back then were simpler¡± he looked down as if in thought about the memories.

He said ¡°honestly I don¡¯t blame her for being scared of me. it weird for the longest time I thought she had died by my own hand.??It ripped through me unlike anything before hand. ¡°??it was hard to talk about his past but for some reason he was sharing with bonnie.??Perhaps he was dpoing it for hope or cammie or now knowing the fact talia was back help.

He sighed and said ¡°she has a right to be scared of me. I would be if I was her after what she saw. As much as I would love to regain her love. It probably be best for he r not to be fond of me.??everyone who ever has seems to always die.¡±??He looked off not looking over at bonnie
 

Bonnie never expected to be having this conversation with him let alone to not be looking for some sort of escape hatch. It was definitely a surprising turn of events but she wouldn't be letting her guard down any time soon. ¡°Maybe it couldn't hurt to revisit simpler times every now and then.¡±

She stood with arms lightly folded leaning back against the kitchen counter and thinking back on their history. For him to be sharing his past without indifference ?came as a shock. Maybe this woman was important to him. Or maybe he was just toying with her.?

She drew a breath uncertain whether her next actions could be a mistake. What would Elena do? Her friend would no doubt encourage the rekindling of old feelings especially with the changes in him since the birth of his daughter. ¡°If she's as important to you as she seems to be¡­walking away would be something you would regret the rest of your VERY long life.¡±

Slowly shifting her weight from one foot to the other as she stood there studying him closely as he looked away. ¡°If you want my advice¡­work on winning her heart again if that's what you want and then fight like hell to keep her safe because whether she feels the same or moves on anyone who knows your history¡­knows what she meant to you¡­is still gonna come after her.¡±
 

Klaus listened to bonnie as she spoke.??It was odd for them to be talking about such subjects. When she mention visiting simpler times??He just sighed and said ¡°its not as easy as it used to be considering what we are.??Even you im sure can admit to that.¡±??he watched bonnie closely.

Klaus thought of her words.??He knew bonnie was right and how he would love to rekindle those feeling but then he thought how everyone close to him tended to die. Plus the fact that talia had once chose his brother over him.??Klaus had so many conflicting feelings it was hard to know what to do.??He just knew he didn¡¯t want to hurt talia. Perhaps it was best to steer clear of her so she would remain safe.

He sighed and said ¡°only thing I can say is I will keep her safe weather it steering clear of her or stayyying close. its her decision though anyone who get close to me tends to parish.¡±??He looked down thinking of camile.??He cleared his throat and said ¡°any way enough of that.??I appreciate you helping Hope.??Perhaps you can help find out what has its hold her.??I will have her brought here after a talk with talia if that is okay with you.¡±
 

¡°Her choice?¡± Bonnie was shocked by the fact he was willing to leave that decision up to Tatia having honestly expected him to use force if necessary in order to make sure things worked out the way HE wanted them to. ¡° When the fates of those who became more than pawns or minions was mentioned she felt a rush of sympathy though due to their history kept it well hidden.?

¡°We all have kinda sucky luck in that department.¡± Everyone she knew had lost so many people they cared about so it wasn't hard to understand what that was like. One major draw back to this conversation was just how much it made her think of Enzo. The change in subjects was a welcome one.?

¡°That's okay, you can bring her whenever you're ready and I¡¯ll see what I can do.¡± She knew precisely what Grams would say if she were here¡­it would be something about witches being drawn into vampire business. The thought of her was enough to give the young witch an idea as to how she could help.
 

Klaus listened happy to change the subject away from loved ones loss.??Though this taila situation was still a lot to figure out and even take in.??he said ¡°if you need any assistance with hope when she gets here my sister freya might be able to help you.??Like you she to is a powerful witch.¡±??It was easy to see Klaus would do anything to save his daughter.

Klaus straighten his jacket and said ¡°with that I do believe I have a conversation to hold with my long dead ex.¡±??He headed for the door.??It was time to face the music and talk to aila but he was unsure he could face what she had to say. The though hurt as much as a white oak stake to the heart.
 

¡°It might put her mind at ease¡­¡± Bonnie began as there was some doubt over whether the girl would be comfortable among strangers even though no one here would harm his daughter. ¡°having someone she knows with her.¡± She had thought when he and his siblings left Mystic Falls she was done being dragged into their drama.?

Her thoughts turned to her friends, a subject that inspired a series of conflicting emotions ranging from concern to frustration. This was followed by a lengthy pause before she somewhat reluctantly uttered the words¡­ ¡°Good luck.¡± It was stranger still that the witch genuinely meant it.?

If there was any chance this could provide him with an additional reason to continue down this road toward being a ¡®better man¡¯ then getting in the way of that was the last thing she would do. He deserved the same chance Damon had been given even if her friend was so willing to throw it all away rather than fight for it.?

As Klaus walked away she reached for her cellphone scrolling down to the number of a certain Salvatore as she contemplated whether to attempt calling him again.?
