Re: Horrible Things To Come (Cordelia/Halbrek/etc)
OOC, SO I wrote this long reply and the email vanished...comp has been a jerk today. Not ever loving my 2nd version as much when it comes to rewrites but it must be done...
?
IC
?
?
Halbrek took the Napkin with Cordelia's number on it and stuck it in Castiel's duster pocket eacause she had none...no duster and no pocket. Taking the pen she reached for another napkin and wrote, handing it to Cordelia.
?
"My cell," she explained simply. ?
Her expression was still a bit distracted as her mind played over cordelia's words concerning vampires. Demons were playing with vampires now? Hm. Interesting. she'd have to study up on that...just to be in the know even if it was never something she wished to be in on herself...because it certainly was not.
?
"We'll call you tomorrow or you call us...Sooner if there is anything that needs reporting, of course. And whatever else you two attend to, get yourselves some good rest because we have no idea what we'll be doing so you may need it."
?
She wasn't at all accustom to reminding someone to look after themselves properly or caring if they did or not. The angel wasn't influencing her negatively. It was just her own practicality kicking in. She stood peering pensively out into the night as she waited for?Castiel to pay for his chicken salad. She didn't like this place...not at all. It still felt wrong and as evening fell it seemed to get worse for some reason.
?
Mind free of intellectual distraction, Halbrek returned her thoughts to the next course of action, once again hoping Castiel wouldn't be too difficult about it.

¡°Where I come from not all of them do. It¡¯s¡¡± Cordelia began deciding on the best way of explaining the nature of vampires as they were back home. ¡°When someone is turned or sired the demon gets their body but not their soul¡that part¡¯s gone.¡± If memory served that was fairly close to the way a certain tweed wearing librarian put it years ago when she¡¯d first learned of their existence. ? ¡°So, things are about to get all?¡®monster of the week¡¯, again? Terrific.¡± It was a thousand wonders she survived growing up in Sunnydale, especially after the giant demonic snake ate half the senior glass at graduation. Reaching into her pocket for a couple bills to cover the meal when the waitress returned with the ticket offering a polite smile as she accepted the money and collected any empty plates or glasses from the table. ? She waited until they were alone again before returning her attention to Halbrek. ¡°I¡¯m covered.¡± The first thought that sprung to mind was finding a local bar of that nature so that the other hunter could get his hands on some cash through either hustling pool or perhaps a poker game. It seemed best for that to be their first move as far as the task of getting him settled. ¡°Think so.¡± Her brown eyes flicking to him a moment noting that he seemed oddly quiet then back to the two seated across from them. ? Briefly excusing herself to get a pen from one of the waitresses then returning to the table where she grabbed a napkin scribbling down her own number which she passed to Halbrek. ¡°If we¡¯re lucky there won¡¯t be any surprise appearances of our headless?¡®´Ú°ù¾±±ð²Ô»å¡¯.¡± As much as she dared to hope he could be stopped?before?he rose she knew things were?never?that easy. ? ? ? "Don't all vampires have souls?"
?
Silly thing to focus on, but it was about the only thing of what Cordelia had said that Halbrek could at all relate to or follow. Even the demonic stuff she spoke of sounded foreign to her. Cordelia had said different world and everything, so yeah...definitely different. Halbrek shrugged slim shoulders, casting a thoughtful gaze toward the ceiling of the diner. This must have been good to clear the mind as another thought occurred.
?
"This place sounds like a bit of a Hellmouth too. There is certainly something wrong with it," she said, making a face.
?
Seeing that the thoughtfully listening Castiel had finished his plate she flicked a gaze toward the door. IT seemed bout time to be going through it.
?
?
"I assume you've got somewhere to stay here," she asked Cordelia.
"Are you able to get Dean settled?"
?
She flicked a look to the young man in question.
?
"We need to dedicate a bit of time to research and you're in safe hands with Cordelia."
?
"We can exchange phone numbers and meet up tomorrow," she told Cordelia as her gaze moved back to the young woman.
?
She and castiel did have business to attend to this evening and who knew how successful they'd actually be or how long it would take. Then after that it would be nice, even necessary to have some alone time together. The demoness couldn't stop a gaze of anticipation from wandering over Castiel with t hat fleeting thought.

¡°Last time I thought I was supposed to play a bigger role in the grand scheme of things¡I got my body hijacked by some higher whatever so it could give birth to itself and landed in a mystical coma for a year. So, not the most comforting of prospects.¡± Cordelia focused on her food for a moment as she went about eating despite not being overly hungry. Her gaze flicking between those seated at the table with her. ? ¡°I¡¯m for just about anything that stops visions of our headless?¡®´Ú°ù¾±±ð²Ô»å¡¯?from playing in some kind of loop in my mind.¡± She finished her meal putting the plate to one side as elbows came to rest on the table. Once upon a time this sort of thing would have led to a reaction more along the lines of running away screaming but everything changed for her during that first year living in Los Angeles, and so, she wasn¡¯t the same girl she¡¯d been back in Sunnydale. ? ¡°Where I came from, different world and all, but my hometown was located on what¡¯s called hellmouth. Which was pretty much a beckon to all things evil, so on like a weekly basis someone was trying to bring about the ¡®end of the world¡¯. Then after I moved to Los Angeles I eventually started working for a vampire cursed with a soul by gypsies who was the chosen champion of the Powers That Be. I inherited my visions from a demon, well, half demon who sacrificed himself moments later.¡± Thinking about Doyle always left her feeling sad and a times pissed off. ? ¡°I spent about two years having visions that were?literally?killing me. Doctors couldn¡¯t explain what was happening to me but thankfully provided me with some serious painkillers. Then on my birthday no less, I had a vision that knocked me out of my body and I couldn¡¯t get back inside of it. Long story short, a demon came to me and did this whole?¡®It¡¯s A Wonderful Life¡¯deal before offering me a loop hole¡I had to become part demon myself to be able to bear the visions. So I did. Months later, he showed up again¡convinced me it was my destiny to become a higher being and body hijacking ensued. So, yeah. Open minded.¡± |

Re: Horrible Things To Come (Cordelia/Halbrek/etc)
Halbrek's front teeth nipped at her lip when Cordelia spoke of the feelings she had surrounding her vision and how they differed from her usual experiences.
?
"Perhaps in this case you are expected to do something...more than usual that is. Perhaps the part you play will be larger."
?
She sighed.
"We'll see what we can discover later this evening. The source...is not often forthcoming though this time, I'm betting it shall benefit him more to be so," she said, taking Castiel's hand as she spoke. ?
She hoped he knew what she was considering and if he'd not guessed, Halbrek hoped her lover wouldn't be difficult about it. The concept of having a lover...of having a partner, a we was still odd to both of them she knew, and she did try to keep that in mind when she was able. That was probably not as often as she should, but again this was new for both of them. Over a year, a little may not seem very new to a mortal but when on e lived for eons and did most of that alone and unattached, a year was a blink or nearly so.
?
She smiled when Cordelia mentioned her demonic friend.
?
"He sounds interesting," she said meaning it and very few people, demons included, warranted that compliment.
"It's a rarely open minded human who can see past the word demon so I commend you," she said sincerely.
?
"Dark practitioners...they're different, as they seek out the worst of the worst, and usually die finding it," she added with a small grim smile.
?
"You though...it takes a special mind to have your abilities and still be fair."
?
She slid a quick look to Castiel, understanding even more why he'd taken an interest in this particular human.

She focused on the demoness who spoke of someone who might have some information on the subject of her?¡®headless friend¡¯. ¡°Things are definitely getting pretty damn weird.¡± Bringing her sandwich up to her lips taking a bite as brown eyes moved between angel and demoness, a part of her statement having to do with the idea of their relationship while mostly it was about everything else. ? ¡°Aside from solving the riddle of my latest vision before it drives me mad¡can¡¯t think of anything else.¡± The Seer drew a small breath setting her sandwich down once more while turning a few thoughts over in her mind. ¡°It¡¯s the first time in a long time that after a vision it¡¯s been like my mind just can¡¯t rest until it¡¯s done.¡± Seemed the most accurate description of how things had been going ever since she first saw those images. ? ? ? ? Re: Horrible Things To Come (Cordelia/Halbrek/etc)
Castiel happily focused on the meal selected for him through Halbrek's greater wisdom but perked up once more when Cordelia reassured him. Sam Winchester was a nice enough guy but always teased him mercilessly for missing the obvious, to him, references. It was ridiculous of course, to keep feeling inferior for one who understood Enochian language, knew a great many names of the angelic host and could?foresee traces of hostile attention before it fully materialized through an action. The knowledge of humanity and its realm as expressed through their media?started gaining importance in his eyes, since that was where the battle field lay, but never to any satisfactory degree and by now, the angel began to accept his flaw. It might even be unpardonable, dealing with humans, without fully understanding them, but then, as he'd told Halbrek, only? a few of them mattered a great deal and the rest was, however unfairly, less significant. With the select few, he supposed he could adjust to their own special language, replete with Dr Phil's wisdom as it may be, but was relieved not to have to. ? Pausing in the midst of his fork motion, the angel suddenly realized that humans somewhat complimented his ignorance with their own. Cordelia's vastly incomprehensible vocabulary still lacked those bits possibly crucial for the survival of her kind, such as the true nature of the headless horseman, while he himself was aware of things vital for performing his job well, but not much outside of its realm. There ought to be some philosophy behind such matters but even the ever wise Metatron might take an exception to such an impractical sentiment being voiced. ? Castiel felt his responsibility to explain what he saw in the horseman but as soon as he opened his mouth, he had to wonder how much his human friends would be able to follow his words on a binding?through witchery that pushed two patterns together into a single hole, making the overall unit as lethal as it was unnatural. It wasn't like energy patterns were understandably to ordinary humans who did not think in terms of higher sciences nor?exhibited special sight. Technically Cordelia as a seer may have been better than the uneducated Dean, but her visions functioned different and instead of depth of vision required provided only superficial glimpses of reality that would never suffice to account for the phenomenon of the headless horseman. Better that the humans simply thought in terms of an accessible enemy, they always seemed to function better when they did so at any rate. The angel shut his mouth again, his expression losing its somber aspect and becoming?centered once again on the meal?in front of him. ? Wondering how Halbrek would describe Lucifer,?Castiel smiled without malice, the task was never easy there, least of all because of how convoluted Lucifer himself has been.?If they were alone, the angel might have responded?with an objection to Lucifer being a demon according to the technical definition but had?to consider if Dean would still trust him as much, or little, as he did already, if he displayed such knowledge of Lucifer or strong opinions into his nature, and decided to let the expert?on such things voice her mind instead, only nodding in agreement with her plan.? |

"Well that depends on if you consider Lucifer to be the first demon or not," Halbrek said thoughtfully in reply to Cordelia's question about Eve.
"Because he's far older than humanity."
?
"I tend to stay away from most demons myself."
?
She did have a few she'd work with or exchange information from time to time, 2 thirds of which could;'t walk into a place like this without everyone going war of the worlds and freaking out. Picturing KellyReck's scaled body, long talons and tail, bald wings similar to hers as well as bald head, pointed ears, horns and mouth of long sharp teeth made her smile.
?
Her mind returned quickly enough to Cordelia's vision, though.
?
"There is someone I can ask who would know...and these days things are so weird he's likely to talk," Halbrek said calmly.
She slid a look to Castiel hoping he'd not be too difficult about this.
?
"After we're finished here, we'll exchange contact info and Castiel and I will go attend to that if it works for the two of you...i.e if you don't need anything else from us right now," she said.

¡°Right. Sorry. I kind of always tend to get those two a bit mixed up somehow.¡± Cordelia had a feeling this was one of those visions that wouldn¡¯t let her mind rest until it was resolved somehow. Hopefully simply figuring out who the hell headless soldier guy was would be enough though she highly doubted it. ¡°So we¡¯re talking about a guy who¡¯s going to start carrying a jack-o-lantern in place of his head? Cause really not interested in landing myself in the role of Ichabod Crane who if memory serves vanishes in the end without a trace.¡± ? Glancing to the angel then back to Halbrek. ¡°Oh believe me, I have some experience with someone who had some serious issues when it came to understanding pop culture references.¡± There was a twinge of sadness when she thought about Angel though this was something she quickly pushed aside in order to remain focused. When the waitress came over she ordered herself a grilled chicken sandwich with a side of fries and a coke.? ? Looking at her fellow hunter from the corner of her primary focus remained on the pair seated across from them. Biting her tongue as questions were asked though an amused smirk quickly fell into place upon seeing the demon¡¯s reaction to his mention of the Tim Burton film. ? ¡°Hey. Johnny Depp was way hotter than the version of Ichabod from those old animated movies teaches use to show when I was in elementary school. So got to give the man props for casting on that one.¡± She responded with a bit of a smile gaining a distant look for a moment as the image of the before mentioned actor sprung to mind. Shaking it off deciding to return her focus to the conversation at hand. ¡°Eve? As in?¡®Adam and Eve¡¯? First woman¡believed to be first demon¡that Eve?¡± |

"Please! Please, please don't refer to a stupid film rather than the original 18th century?story of the headless horseman."
Why did the youth of today only study T.V? Why?"
She cast a woeful look heavenward, then sighed.
?
When Dean asked why him, Halbrek's full demonic behavior came out in a jab at the angel at her side.
"Because," she told Dean with a smile.
"You're an important toy for the angel. I was asked by a fox demon of air to help him because we sort of share a friend of a friend kind of thing. Meaning it's a friend of Castiel's that I don't hate. So because of the fox demon I somewhat respect and the friend of Castiel's I know and do not hate, I decided to help."
?
She neglected to mention, for obvious reasons, that the friend of a friend that she did not hate served very closely under Lucifer.
?
She smiled genuinely this time.
"And besides...I can rarely resist a mental challenge. The combined strength of a demon and angel are hard to see or trace, and that was the point. Not so much that Castiel needed my help getting?you out specifically, though Eve is far stronger than he so technically he did. But my help mainly masked the fact it was done or that he was there...So hopefully Eve won't notice you're gone for a while, and by then perhaps you'll have worked out your next plan of action or whatever it is that you do."
?
Eve was stronger than her too. Stronger than most demons and Halbrek was strong enough. But she wasn't planning on going to hell anytime soon or screwing with Eve or anyone else if she could help it.
?
She studied Dean. She'd not bothered to hide the fact she was a demoness, but it may as well be addressed. She didn't know how stable he'd be about it so it would be better to wait, but what the hell. Hopefully she'd not have to kill him. Drawing in a deep breath she sighed and leaned forward slightly.
?
"Look. I saw some of what they were doing to you when we dragged you out...I fled hell a very very long time ago because I and many others were being hurt by the current queen of my race. She's a bit of a psycho bitch, likely hidden in the depth somewhere and may she stay there. So while I am a demoness and proud of it, if you piss me off I'll just kill you. I'm a war demoness so I don't see it coming to that but you don't have to fer torture from me as it's not my style."
?
She smiled, eyes not unkind as she looked into his.
"What I'm trying to say is I've literally been where you've been and like you I did nothing to deserve it. I was just there and she was pissy. I couldn't take it so I had to get out. Left hell and never looked back long long ago."

Re: Horrible Things To Come (Cordelia/Halbrek/etc)
Another time and place Dean would have attacked Halbrek. She was clearly not human, the whole floating thing gave that away and in his experience anything that was not human was a danger. But Dean was weaponless, and up until that point suffered from malnutrition. Dean was reckless, but attacking a...what ever the hell she was....when he was weaponless, not at his best and without any information about her weaknesses, or how to kill her made it a bit too risky, even for him. The other two seemed friendly with her and for all he knew could be something other than natural, Angel or not and right now they appeared to be helping him which was a better situation to be in than a three on one situation with just him, himself and his guts. So he kept to being friendly, or as friendly as he could be in his abrupt, brusk manner. The food he ate, while desperately needed, was heavy on his stomach causing him to shift in his seat uneasily.? ? "Sleepy Hollow." Dean repeated. It was ringing a bell, he just could not put a finger on it. Sam was the research guy, a thought that reminded himself to contact his brother as soon as possible; A job better done in person, though.? ? Cordelia's comment about a headless man running about helped Dean recall the memory. ? "Sleepy Hollow! The Johnny Depp film!" he said, clicking his fingers. "Knew I heard that before. Although, I always thought of it as being...you know....fictional. Huh. I just have one question for you ." he said, look from Halbrek to Castiel. "You said you raised me but......why?" he asked tentatively. "There are many other fallen warriors out there, yet you chose me?" |

Halbrek rested her chin on a fist, expression thoughtful.
"I'd say before the civil war. Probably revolutionary," she told Cordelia when she brought up the troublesome horseman.
Giving a faint smile the slim demoness said,"War being my business and all I should know.."
?
When Cordelia commented again on the horseman to Dean, something clicked in Halbrek's mind.
"Oh! It's that old story..."
She straightened eagerly, hand dropping into her lap to join the other as she did so.
?
"So many truths are hidden as fiction for esoteric reasons you know."
Her expression was intense, and almost eager as it was when she spoke of scholarly pursuits or war.
"The town...it should've given it away far faster, but I was distracted...The name of the town rather. Sleepy Hollow...The headless Horseman. You've all read the story right?"
She looked quickly from Cordelia to Dean, eyes ending on Cas.
"Even you've heard of that one at least, right?"
Looking back to the 2 mortals she added,"He's got an exceedingly bad case of behind the times...as in very far behind."
?
When the waitress came over she ordered Cas a some sort of grilled chicken dinner which appeared healthy enough and?a?South West?salad. He'd been too distracted to care about?the food so she decided to take care of it...just for fun.

Cordelia picked up a menu trying not to think too much on the subjects of desserts at this point. Maybe later. She wasn¡¯t entirely opposed to the idea, just the calories that came with it. Hazel eyes briefly flicking to the demoness as the topic of the town¡¯s energy was brought up. ¡°I¡¯m mostly concerned with headless civil war guy cause not loving the vibe I got when seeing him in my vision.¡± Shuddering lightly at the mere thought. ? ¡°Think the grilled chicken club sandwich sounds pretty good to me.¡± It was, after all, one of the healthier choices the diner offered though undoubtedly came with its own nightmarish calorie count. ¡°Desperate times¡¡± She replied to what the other had told Dean about her?¡®±è²¹°ù³Ù²Ô±ð°ù²õ³ó¾±±è¡¯?with the angel. Halbrek chuckled softly in answer to Dean's first?question. Sighing she gave her head a slight shake.
"Unfortunately not. I'm not saying every good and bad will be wise enough to fight together. That will make this thing even harder. Enough of them will still insist on fighting amongst one another, in not seeing the real danger...and they'll all probably die. That bit doesn't concern me particularly, but the fact it shall deminish our help will."
She sighed, expression almost as worried as she was beginning to feel.
?
?
"It's not a feeling. IT is a fact that something evil is...has been done here, is being done here...but no I don't know who it is yet. I'm on the research end, though, so hopefully soon I'll have something. And the place is Sleepy Hollow," she concluded in answer to his final question.
?
Where a normal mortal may have asked if he was feeling better or if the meal had upset his stomach, not being the healthiest and being his first, but as a demoness, none of that occurred to Halbrek.

Dean, a little annoyed about the absence of pie, (how can any half-decent cafe or restaurant be out of pie?), he placated his stomach with a jumbo sized burger they cunningly entitled 'The King Megaburger', which amounted to four greasy burgers, each with a filler of salad in-between, burger sauce on the top, encased in a bun with a side of fries and coke to boot. He followed the others to the vacant booth and took the only vacant booth next to Cordelia. While mainly Halbrek talked, Dean stuffed his face like he had never eaten before and gulped down his coke. As hungry as he was before, he was ravenous once the food was in front of him and nothing was going to get between his food and his stomach. He did, however listen to what was being said, even though it probably didn't look like it. ? ¡°So what you're saying is there's this...thing coming that is so bad that everyone and everything, hunter, werewolf, demon is going to have to fight against together?¡± Dean said, a twinge of doubt clear in his voice and facial expressions. Re: Horrible Things To Come (Cordelia/Halbrek/etc)
The walls here and the people made the building feel stifling for the demoness, and she had to struggle briefly against momentary clusterfobia. She didn't generally go into places like this so had to adjust.
Halbrek wrapped her wings more snugly around herself like an all enveloping cloak that hid her skimpy battle attire. A cloak may appear...different but it hid everything save for the pointed toes and heals of her black boots. With a frown of concentration, her horns vanished too, leaving straight red hair in layers around her heart shaped face and shoulders. Slipping into a seat beside Castiel, she?slid a slim hand into his and picked up a menu with her other hand.
"I feel better in here," she murmured quietly to the others.
"I doubt the general energy in this town is going to be great, but that damned graveyard and the trees beyond were bad...and I stress when one of my kind says that...it is most definitely bad."
?
She flipped the pages idly, looking for something healthy for Castiel to eat. She enjoyed that body, after all, and didn't want it going?to rot from bad dietary habits.
?
"This chicken salad looks good, don't you think," she asked the angel, pushing the thing with its food and pictures toward him.
Directing her steady gaze to Dean and Cordelia she added, still speaking quietly so her voice wouldn't carry past their table,"Things are getting bad. Frankly Cas and I don't normally work together."
She chuckled. "Yeah, pretty obvious, right? Considering. We ended up together...because it was fun."
She flashed a grin at Dean.
"Thanks for that by the way. We met because of you. Anyway, we normally don't?work together. We keep our work and our relationship separate save for a little friendly competition on the battlefield from time to time. But right now whatever is happening is..."
She?paused to collect her thoughts, frowning slightly in concentration.
"It threatens the balance. It could ruin everyone's damned sandbox and whoever wants that is obviously after their own power play and nothing else. That's not okay. So right now you may want to accustom yourselves to working with those you may not normally for the greater good."
She leaned forward.
"And though I am going?to work with you I wasn't referring to myself because I'm awesome. I am saying you'll be working with bigger guns you may normally be running from or fighting. At least if it?doesn't come down to that I'll be very surprised, but it's in everyone's interest to call a cease fire until this is taken care of and we'll all need to work together."
?
She had to say this now, to lay the foundation for all of them considering what she intended to do once this little group separated for the evening. Who she intended to try summoning.

Cordelia led the others into the diner making her way to a corner booth where they could have a bit more privacy than being out in the middle of everyone else. Though this place wasn¡¯t particularly packed at the moment there were a handful of tables with people sitting around them some engaged in quiet conversation while others were a bit more loud and boisterous as they discussed a football game from the previous night. ¡°Nothing like sports fans.¡± She quipped. ? Sliding into the booth sitting closest to the wall waiting for the others to take a seat, still replaying bits of their earlier conversation in the graveyard. "I hope not," Halbrek said when Dean asked if pink unicorns were real.
?
"You believe in demons. You were in hell. But you're telling me you don't believe in angels? Come on. You've got to be a smart boy or Cas wouldn't have?bothered wasting my time on you," she said as patiently as possible, which was only with a mild dose of annoyance.
?
When Dean expressed displeasure at the diner's lack of pie, Halbrek looked thoughtful.
?
"Well...perhaps they have another dessert. Cake or..."
What were other sorts of dessert? Oh hell she didn't know. She shrugged expressively.
"And if not, we can go somewhere else for dessert after I'm sure."
?
OR at least he and Cordelia could, because after Castiel got some food into him they had work to do...people to talk to.

Re: Horrible Things To Come (Cordelia/Halbrek/etc)
"Cordelia...you want to take him to McDonalds or Burger President or whatever it's called?" ? >>>>> ? ? If Dean were a dog, his ears would have pricked up on hearing this. It felt like he had not tasted a fat juicy burger in forever and right then he would even take the sloppy crap they dished out at a Mcdonalds restaurant, he was that damn hungry. Of course he didn't have a dime on him to pay for it, though. A wallet was not the first thing thought of burying with someone. ? ? >>>> ? "If there are demons, it only stands to reason, yes? Be grateful you have him and that your brother had him while you were gone. Also it may not hurt to be grateful to the 2 of us for snatching you out of hell. Though I assure you it was neither of our doing that you ended up..." She gave the ground a disgusted disturbed look. "Here."
? ¡°Yeah and I suppose pink unicorns are real too? Sorry, sister but I've seen too much crap in my life to believe there's some winged dudes sitting on a cloud somewhere who actually gives a crap about what happens down here. You do have my thanks for keeping my brother safe and bringing me back if what you're saying is true, though.¡± ?
? ¡°Thank you.¡± Dean said gratefully. ¡°Maybe they do burgers AND pie.¡± Dean thought out loud, if there was a drop of moisture in his mouth he would have been salivating right then. ¡°Or course I don't have access to my wallet right now, having just crawled out of my grave and all.¡± Dean said. It was probably obvious, but he thought he'd put it out there, as he followed the girl who was apparantly called Cordelia. As they reached the diner, Dean noticed a sign. ¡°Sorry, all out of pie.¡± ? ¡°God-dam it!¡± he exclaimed. |

Re: Horrible Things To Come (Cordelia/Halbrek/etc)
Halbrek was torn. On one hand she wanted to stay here and attend to some business considering the fleeting demon signature she had noticed here. The one who'd had nothing to do with any of this and had only come to scope it out as she had herself done. He was certainly worth talking to for a few reasons, one a matter of deep intellectual curiosity and one based on the help he could hopefully give. Of course he'd want something in return but this particular situation smelled of the benefits of many parties?working together at least for now.
?
Then on the other hand, they'd not truly finished the discussion with either human and Castiel probably needed to feed that body...it needed to keep up its strength for what was to come, and not just in their hotel later, though that would be a big part of it, she thought with a small amused smile.
?
"I suppose you could all use food even if Dean does need it more," Halbrek said.
"It's nice that there is somewhere close...but then again everything probably is in a small town like this."
?
She nodded at Cordelia.
"Lead the way. We're in your hands," she added with an amused smirk.
