Re: Mystic Grille (Jamie/Kali/Mekare/etc)

To Jamie's question of what she meant by another vampire Mekare shrugged.
?
"I mean one who is not in this room and who does not know us," she replied literally. Maharet shot her a frown.
?
//They don't know about vampires,//?she thought frantically to her twin.
?
//But they're talking about some man with demonic seeming powers so what'll they care,// Mekare returned to her sister without turning to regard her.?
?
Armand who had heard the exchange huffed an exasperated sigh. Mekare was likely right and with her being queen of the damned who could bitch that she'd said something to a mortal? Lestat? Yeah right. He couldn't help but smirk. Mekare was likely right though. If the women understood one paranormal thing why not let them know that there might be others?
?
?
"He kills family," Mekare repeated Jamie's statement, half distracted and half attentive as she followed the conversation her twin was having across the room.
?
"So as family is in this room, does that mean he's coming here," she pressed.
?
"I don't mind helping to kill him if that's what you need," she offered a little too readily, and Armand wasn't sure if he wanted to frown or smile about that.
?
?
Maharet gave Lucy an apologetic smile, again thinking how odd all this may sound but her soothing nearly calm expression faded at Pandora's question. Chills shot up her arms and down her spin. "The dead waking? I certainly hope not!"
?
She couldn't come back, could she" And if so she had no power now. Mekare had it. It was alright. Alright. Slender hands crossed to either arm, rubbing them soothingly as if to ward off a chill she rarely if ever felt as a vampire.
?
"There are immortals like, myself and her," she nodded to Lucy, "And then...that isn't what you meant, was it," she asked quietly.
?
Somehow angels and demons that she'd not believed in before yesterday faded in the wake of Akasha. Insane she knew as the others would be far worse and were definitely and most certainly not dead.

Locked Re: Salvatore Boarding House: Desperate Times (Bonnie/Enkil)

Enkil thought carefully about the past events, and what Bonny said, then sighed, slowly shaking his head.
?
"I could've noticed a difference if there had not been reason for it. Akasha was always willful and impetuous. Not as vicious. Still lovable and charming. But the way she reacted to the sisters, things didn't just switch overnight. They slowly escalated. I watched it go bad. Had it been sudden I would've assumed...By the time I had regrets things had gone too far. I had allowed Akasha to go too far and I assumed it was a natural progression. Perhaps it was who she always was given opportunity. How was I to know? Have you never believed someone to be a certain way then discovered they were otherwise when a situation became drastic enough to put them under unpleasant pressures that drew out things from them no one wished to see?"
?
He shook his head. Was she too young for such a question? Perhaps not. There were so very many people in this world now. Surely she had encountered a few such as he described. With so many it had to be the case.
?
?
He waited patiently, thinking of this vast world and how full it had become while she wrote her note and made it vanish. Another form of magic and even now it still managed to make him uneasy. The red haired witches had not been able to do such things as far as he was aware. This was a new different magic.
?
"Our kind were created thousands of years ago," he said in response to her story of vampires being created by a witch. Again something he hoped the red haired ones were not able to do. Likely not as they surely would have created protectors for themselves had they been able.
?
"We were created, if the witch twins are to be believed, by an angry spirit that was never mortal. He very much wanted flesh and when I was stabbed and he tasted my blood, he slipped into my flesh. Rather than possessing me we...became...I became as I am," he concluded, spreading his hands.
?
?
I'm friends with the monster that's under my bed.

Re: Mystic Falls Cemetery (Hope/Miranda/Kol/Davina)

Davina understood all his fears about becoming involved in whatever was coming because she felt the same. It would have been so much easier to wash her hands of the whole situation were it not for the people in this town who'd taken her in. So, she'd come up with a compromise of sorts¡they would follow the locator spell to wherever it led in the name of satisfying her own curiosity and then if he wished hop on the first plan to the farthest corners of the earth.

It had taken a little bit of doing but after gathering her supplies she'd tinkered with the spell until she thought she had something that might work. Tracking magic itself could prove difficult but to pinpoint a specific being without anything of theirs was next to impossible. Who's to say it wouldn't lead them back to the Salvatore Boarding School?

She'd studied the map for the longest after finishing the spell, having used her own blood as a means of tracking magic. It was no surprise when a few drops instantly slid across the paper to where the school could be found or that her own location was indicated as well.?

But there were three other locations where drops of blood had stopped¡one at the center of town, another on its edge¡possibly at a farmhouse and the final one lingered over the cemetery. She knew that Kol was reluctant to go there. Hell, she even wished she hadn't been in such a rush to solve this mystery because then they could have gone with the idea of using a drone instead.

Her eyes moving from the entrance of the cemetery back to Kol as she struggled with the impulse to head in that direction. She'd promised the next step would be his call if he let her get this far.?

(ooc: Well Damon did do that cool thing with the crow and fog in season one then never did it again. Figured I¡¯d move them along a little bit if that doesn't work for you just let me know and I can work up something else and hold onto this for another time to be tweaked as needed.)

Re: The Woods Of Mystic Falls (Akasha/Damon/etc)

Akasha took note of everything so that at a split second¡¯s notice she could quickly turn things around. But for now she was letting this scenario play out, curious as to whether he'd truly convinced himself she wasn't who she appeared to be. Letting just the right amount of fear and pain creep onto her face as her back slammed against the nearest tree.?

She feigned human weakness while struggling to remove the hand from around her throat as she maintained the illusion of being ¡®Elena¡¯. ¡°Damon, stop. What are you doing? You're hurting me.¡± The words holding just the right amount of emotion to be convincing.?

Sooner or later this little game would get boring and then she'd be left alone with thoughts of her husband and the young arrogant vampire who thought she would actually have any real interest in him. A realization that brought a touch of bitterness she hid exceptionally well.

Re: Mystic Grille (Jamie/Kali/Mekare/etc)

¡°What do you mean another vampire?¡± Jamie was starting to question whether the redhead might have had a few rather stiff drinks before coming here because everyone knew that vampires weren't real. If she were lucky this wasn't about to turn into one of those drunken disorderly situations where a phone call had to be placed to the sheriff.

Her eyes slowly moved to the teenager beside the woman with one eyebrow carefully lifted. It was hard to rule out the possibility of anything when there was every chance in the world that her own uncle was in fact the ¡®boogeyman¡¯ and she feared her cousin would follow the same path.

Clearly the woman's young companion was bothered by this announcement or at the very least embarrassed given his reaction. ¡°Not¡normal?¡± She spoke slowly with a quizzical look on her face as if not quite sure what to make of the situation but not quite willing to call for a padded wagon to take them away either.

¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª

Lucy looked up a bit startled at the introduction mainly because she hadn't expected anyone to approach either of them. Sliding a look toward her friend before responding. ¡°My name¡¯s Lucy¡this is¡¡± She had startled to introduce the strange redhead to Pandora though at noticing she seemed to be far more focused on her left that thought unfinished.

¡°I am afraid I am a bit confused as to your meaning.¡± One nervously reached up tucking a few strands of red hair back behind her ear. Perhaps this woman was like her, brought back from the dead or whatever her story was. There were so many strange bits of what she could only hope were memories because otherwise she¡¯d lost her mind.?

¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª

Pandora lifted an eyebrow as she watched the exchange, curious as to what made the woman approach Lucy in the first place. Her question was a bit odd, however, it did cause her to wonder whether perhaps the woman had picked up on something from the life the obviously confused redhead seated at the table with her had lived before showing up here in Mystic Falls.

She decided to offer a question of her own, one that would either put a quick end to this or be the start of what would possibly prove to be an interesting, if not informative, conversation. ¡°Like the dead rising?¡± Of course, she could have stayed out of it but curiosity led to another choice of action.?

¡ª¡ª¡ª¡ª

Jamie was oddly relieved when the conversation shifted back to her uncle, a subject she was normally only too glad to avoid talking about. ¡°It's what he does. He targets family and kills anyone that gets in his way.¡± She glanced to where Kali sat drawing in her sketch pad as she said this.

Locked Re: Salvatore Boarding House: Desperate Times (Bonnie/Enkil)

¡°That's not what I¡¯m saying.¡± Bonnie silently cursed a certain vampire who shall remain nameless for ditching his phone which is what had gotten her into this mess. Breathing a sigh as she collected her thoughts trying to choose the right words to get him to understand what she meant. ¡°It¡¯s not about blame.¡± She couldn't speak to how his wife might be feeling only that she herself wasn't placing blame.

¡°What I meant was there might have been signs that you missed that something wasn't right.¡± Her thoughts going back to her own failure in a similar situation and after a moment she decided that might help. ¡°A while ago someone who was dying used a spell The Travelers use to ¡®passenger¡¯ themselves inside another person on my best friend. I didn't know it. Then after I found out¡.it was like ¡®how did I not know?¡¯¡±

Course she knew that Katherine had considerable practice pretending to be Elena but that didn't make it any better. ¡°I should have figured it out but it was her ex boyfriend, who hadn't known her anywhere close to as long as I had, that did.¡±?

She watched him closely a moment. ¡°Maybe that's when whatever it was happened¡when things started getting stranger.¡± Difficult to say without actually having been there herself to see things first hand but it seemed as likely as anything else did.

Quietly considering what was said about his origin as a vampire, odd to think a spirit capable of doing that. She hesitated lightly chewing on her lip then decided to tell what she knew of his kind. ¡°I know of this family whose mother was a powerful witch and after her youngest son was killed by werewolves she became desperate to protect her family.¡±

For now she would leave names out of it as last thing she needed was to discover this man was someone else that wasn't very fond of the Mikaelsons. Though her reasons for keeping parts of the tale to herself had far more to do with the innocent little girl she¡¯d been asked to help.?

¡°She found this spell meant to protect them from death only she inadvertently created vampires and tried a few times in recent times to correct that mistake because she wasn't such a huge fan of what her children became.¡± Her mind kept returning to a message she needed to send in spite of thinking it wouldn't do any good.?

¡°Excuse me, for a second, there's something I need to do¡I have to get word to the friend whose phone you returned.¡± Bonnie didn't leave the room merely moved over to a small table where there was a pen and paper then scribbled down the message that Elena had been taken by someone looking to teach Damon a lesson for messing with his people.?

She found an old ashtray nearby then placed the note inside as she chanted in a low voice. Her will and power focused on the task at hand. Soon there was a burst of flames that were extinguished only once the paper was consumed. She knew it would reach Damon though when or if he'd even read it was another story.

Turning back to her ¡®guest¡¯ with an apologetic smile. ¡°Sorry about that. It was something that I keep worrying about and waiting was only making that worse. It's about two of my friends.¡± While she was worried less after having heard from Elena she didn't quite trust the one who had her.

¡°I think there are different kinds of change.¡± The witch said returning to the subject. ¡°I think there's the way in which you have which is¡more natural I guess and then there's someone else controlling your body making you do things you wouldn't ordinarily do that also makes you not who you were. It may not have anything to do with your wife. I don't know. It's hard to say until we find her.¡±

Re: Wedding Plans (Klaus/Tatia)

Tatia recalled the rare occasions when the others persuaded her to come along on one of their shopping trips. It really wasn't such a bad experience in itself but always left her with the fear someone might realize she wasn't quite¡¡¯normal¡¯ with her knowledge of all things modern still a bit limited.

Quietly peering inside as the shop was illuminated once more revealing a wide collection of wedding dresses. On more than one occasion while out with either Caroline or the others she'd looked through the window never once thinking the day would come she'd ever have need of one herself. ¡°If you're sure.¡± Her gaze returned to the woman as the offer was accepted.?

She stepped inside taking a quick look around before her attention was ultimately drawn back to Klaus. Had her reluctance to leave his side been that obvious? Perhaps it had. It was difficult to tell and it was a conversation better suited for another time when they were alone. ¡°Promise?¡±

Her concern more for being separated than about his peeking something she felt almost certain he would pick up on. She returned the kiss then reluctantly let his hand slip from hers before moving to join the woman who offered her assistance. Brown eyes carefully taking each dress in as she did.

Re: Leaving Mystic Falls (Elena/Mihnea)

"Now that's an impressive ring," Mihnea said, distracted by the idea of a ring that could protect from a supernatural death.
?
"How common are those? And do they protect supernatural as well? Or just humans?"
?
?
He thought he was beginning to understand the switch flipping thing as well. It could be done voluntarily or prompted by something that engendered strong emotions.
?
"The switching seems a form of self hypnosis. The manner in which we can mind fuck mortals turned inward as it were. Interesting."
?
It was nice to understand and not be so perplexed. Of course he was dealing with different vampires so they may have varying abilities, but he still would at least like to be able to comprehend them.
?
Glancing out the window he said,"Nearly there it seems."

Re: Leaving Mystic Falls (Elena/Mihnea)

¡°Basically, yes.¡± Elena was hesitant to say more on the matter but without anything else to serve as a distraction she needed this conversation. There for a moment her thoughts returned to Damon quietly wondering whether her friend was able to get a message to him. Pushing those thoughts aside she forced herself to focus on the here and now.

¡°Mostly¡it's boredom that motivates your actions if you shut it all off or in some cases it's about stopping someone who wants you to turn your emotions back on.¡± She shuddered lightly at the memory of the waitress she'd killed just to make the Salvatore brothers stop trying to her to do just that. It was but one of many things she'd been forced to live with.

¡°But there's always the risk that her death would be your trigger¡that one thing that brings everything rushing back. All the pain¡or guilt that made you want to shut it all off in the first place.¡± Stefan's words echoing inside her mind about focusing on a single emotion, whatever it was that made you strong when it all came flooding in again.?

¡°When I¡¡± She started not quite sure how to finish the thought so she started over, collecting her thoughts. ¡°The night I did¡I was starving¡they had only been giving me enough to keep me from desiccating and I found Matt. I didn't know what Damon had planned when he and his brother found us.¡±

There was a distant look in her eyes as she paused, seemingly forgetting about their conversation there for a second. Shaking her head slightly as she appeared to snap out of it again. ¡°He grabbed Matt¡told me that he'd snap his neck right in front of me if I didn't flip my switch. I didn't care so¡I said go ahead. He did and seeing one of my oldest friends die¡.brought it all back.¡±

It was one of several memories she could live without but she'd learned her lesson when it came to letting a vampire compel her to forget something simply because it was too painful. A choice that had almost kept her and Damon apart when he'd come back.?

¡°Lucky for us, Matt was wearing a ring that protected him against death by supernatural means so he came back to life.¡±

Re: The Woods Of Mystic Falls (Akasha/Damon/etc)

Damon shook his head in an attempt to clear it. He shook it harder when it didn't work as planned. Something wasn't right...It just...wasn't. Though part of him wanted to play into this, another part felt something was a miss that he couldn't quite put his finger on. Uncertainty quickly switched to anger and he lunged at the girl, slamming her back into the nearest tree, his hands around her throat. Elena...No, it couldn't be...but...wasn't it?

Re: The Woods Of Mystic Falls (Akasha/Damon/etc)

Akasha stayed at a distance feeling that to be the choice this woman¡Elena would make knowing what she knew of his current ¡®mental state¡¯. She parted her lips to answer then closed them once more with a look of caution. One hand rising in much the same way as she'd witnessed the girl doing in a memory of his. ¡°We talked about this.¡± Carefully mimicking a look of concern.

¡°Bonnie used a locator spell and¡¡± She let her hand fall down at her side a moment then nervously wrapping both arms about her waist. All done to keep up appearances, at least until the point this little game was no longer fun (whenever that might be). ¡°Ric gave me a lift. Remember?¡±

(ooc: sorry it's kinda short. Still kinda working on getting refocused on writing. Trying to get a little done this afternoon while I can.)

Re: Mystic Falls Cemetery (Hope/Miranda/Kol/Davina)

Miranda walked through row after row of tombstones with her gaze passing over each marker. More often than not coming across a familiar name, a thing that was not at all surprising since her entire life was spent in this quiet little town. Some could be found within the pages of those journals that Grayson kept hidden away from the world but most were acquaintances at the very least.?

Her pace slowed at spotting a figure lingering near the family plot, one eyebrow rose as she contemplated whether a change of plans was necessary. If this young woman were a close friend of either of her children the odds of being recognized increased exponentially. Unless¡no it broke her heart to think of all that was lost in the fire.

Her eyes briefly going to the graves belonging to most of her family. All the warnings she'd given herself along with those Pandora offered almost daily echoed inside her mind. It was like playing Russian roulette, or so she'd been told, wandering into town where anyone might recognize her.

Wooden bullets could be problematic enough on their own without factoring in the vervain and stakes the sheriffs department undoubtedly still carried.

_________

Hope was suddenly aware of no longer being alone, slowly turning in a small circle until she spotted a woman standing some distance away. There for a moment all thought stopped aside from a single question ¡®what would her father do?¡¯ While it was true there was nothing immediately threatening about the figure it didn't stop certain thoughts.

She kept turning back to the grave that now served as a hiding spot or incubator to whatever the darkness was. Following several uneasy seconds she stepped closer to it deciding it to be the more imminent threat. The tribrid stood immobile as she sifted through all the spells learned from both her aunt and mentor.?

Slowly kneeling down she carefully extended both hands with palms facing downward then lowered them to the earth. Her eyes closed as she began chanting in Ancient Greek, eyelids occasionally fluttering as images flashed through her mind almost like those created by a movie projector.

As she pressed on blood began trickling from her nose as whatever it was resisted her efforts to get answers.

"Hell I'd buy a drone," Kol laughed.
?
"I could order it right now and have it sent or...if there's a local store that sells them, but in this tiny town I somehow doubt that. If you could magic it...Or I can sometimes control animals though I'm not sure how reliable it is," he admitted reluctantly.

He knew it was probably not decent, even for him, but he was still tempted to take her and get as far away from here as they could. Because something deep in his bones told him there would be a shitstorm soon and if they were still here, they'd be caught right in the middle of it."

Davina figured he was mostly talking about his family but figured there was at least one among them who he might wish to protect¡Hope. While she'd never been a fan of the girl's father she was an innocent. ¡°You¡¯re right. I know. But if this has anything to do with her¡with Hope?¡± She knew whatever issues he had with his siblings it wasn't likely they carried over to his niece.?

Her thoughts turned to finding a solution that could work for them both. The locator spell would only work for finding whatever that thing was provided she could come up with way of adapting it for the unknown. But to find out precisely what it was without actively seeking it out was going to be a problem. ¡°I don't know if there is a way of investigating from a distance, unless¡you feel like buying a drone or¡.¡±

It was clear from her expression that she might be onto something, if only she could figure out how to make it work. ¡°If there was a spell that made it possible to see through the eyes of a bird or something that could be controlled long enough to be sent to its location.¡± It might be a long shot but at least it was a starting point. ¡°Then maybe place an anonymous tip?¡±

Re: SH: A House Of New Friends (Regina/Emma/Spike/etc)

"Yes, I figured you might want yourself a different vampire to take blood from, since our lady patron seems to have invited him as a prospective ally. We, likely cannot have too many allies in this endeavor. And if you don't care for vampires specifically anymore, there ought to be a number of other creatures you could use. Besides, with the larger problem ahead, I wonder how many such creatures we could force into our service. I may not be usually the one to seek alliances, but any advantage would be of interest when the enemy promises to have above average resources," Solomon grimly explained.
?
"Well, good. I am glad you and book found my idea somewhat usable," Kane shrugged and turned towards Seraphina. "Are we?expecting more guests? Are you going to ?perform..your own summonings soon?" Solomon wondered, mildly uncomfortable with an idea of an angelic being acting against the principles he himself would have considered angelic. Only the thought of the final triumph of good over evil, put his mind at ease on the matter. ??

Re: SH: A House Of New Friends (Regina/Emma/Spike/etc)

Sarah blinked at Solomon in confusion.
?
"Why would I want to summon vampires to me. One was jut here..."
?
She blinked in confusion, then her mouth made an O.
?
"For the blood experiment, you mean? To take their blood!"
?
Her eyes narrowed as she pouted.
?
"I know why. Just because you and the angel there don't want me killing sticky fingered little brats for youth," she pouted.
?
Not that she hadn't had the thought a bit ago, but now Solomon had somehow drained the fun out of that too.
?
"Never mind, I don't care anymore."
?
?
True enough plus she had a feeling whatever stupid boring trouble was about to go down would leave her little to no time for magical experiments no matter how promising. Though...vampire blood...The more she thought on it the more interesting it was becoming.
?
"Maybe," she conceded reluctantly.
?
With a word and a gesture she summoned the huge family tome with its human eye on thee front cover surrounded by human scar tissue. Gently he patted it and asked for a summoning spell for vampires. The books pages began to turn slowly, reluctantly, as if thinking or uncertain. When the pages fell still, the spell was indeed for summoning, but not for vampires particularly. It had an opening to insert whatever creature by name you were attempting to summon and warned of the danger of such unpredictability. Perhaps she'd try it later, perhaps even tomorrow when the sun was up and whatever vampire they got would be sleeping.
?
"Tomorrow when the sun is up we can find a dark room to do it. WE will drain the blood, bottle and preserve it, then send the vampire away before it even knows," she said, tone excited and cheerful as she clapped her hands.
?
Bending she kissed the book's corner the way one may kiss an Aunt's cheek. "Thank you, Book!!!"

Re: SH: A House Of New Friends (Regina/Emma/Spike/etc)

If Solomon were into pleasantries, the way other people were, he might have thought about saying something nice to the young looking vampire. But even if that were the case, he would not know what passes for niceness among such creatures. "Have yourself a nice pint of blood," sounded a?little odd for one who made it his life's mission to eradicate evil. Overall, Solomon decided that him being different from others was a blessing that spared him the need to interact oddly?in unpredictable situations.
?
The mention of several apocalypses made him pause though, and almost regret his lack of social graces. It would have been intriguing to know how old the vampire has been. The several apocalypses he read about in the Book took place a long time ago. The most recent one, possibly being the one indirectly brought about by Cain's mark. The case of the Atlantean infidels?a few thousands years before, the Doom of Sarnath earlier than that, And the destruction of the Valusian civilization at the wrath of Dagan. A vampire old enough to live through any of these, could be even older than Nakari herself, Solomon realized. But alas, he was still a vampire and likely would not be a good conversationalist.
?
Sarah's complained made him consider something she might not have, which was a disturbing thought by any measure. He was getting too acquainted with different types of magic. "Is there no spell in your book that could draw some vampires to you? I could protect you if they prove too strong and your magic cannot separate the older ones from the weaker ones? I should think our book should have the answer to that," Solomon considered with some discomfort, since he really did?start thinking of the magical tome as his own.
?
Upon further reflection, using the vampire's blood, destroying the said vampire, might not be considered as an evil deed, he corrected himself, and mollified, leaned in to Sarah's tender touches.???
?

Re: Leaving Mystic Falls (Elena/Mihnea)

"Ah,"Mihnea said, leaning forward in interest.
?
"I am perhaps beginning to understand this strange switch flipping. You are saying if mine was flipped, I could hear my mother with no regret, yes? But why would I do such a thing in that case? Would she have to challenge, am I simply board, am I compelled by something?"
?
He sounded intrigued and nearly excited which was how he felt to have finally begun to comprehend what was becoming such a foreign concept yet his brain? still craved picking it apart. Understanding it and what made it happen, perhaps even discovering more about the differences of these vampires and for the moment this Damon's state of mind right now as he planned to use it.
