Re: At The Diner (Cordelia/Jessica/Castiel/Halbrek/etc)
"Wasn't it sex," Azie asked Castiel, tilting his head to the side curiously as he followed Halbrek's lead to the table in the corner near a window where a very pretty dark haired girl waited.
?
"Well hello," he said happily pausing to sweep her a bow.
?
Back to castiel he turned his animated gaze and continued.
"Unless each initial one started from..."
He lifted his hands into the air and silently pantomimed something small breaking off of something larger, then another and another small bit from the larger one.
"Like in the way of GOD, creating n his image...just like the old man he hates...just like a chip off the old block ironically...but sex would bee far more interesting and logical and basic and pleasurable don't you think?" ?
?
"Don't know and probably don't need to know or care either," Halbrek took her turn answering Castiel as she slid into a chair across from Cordelia.
She gave the young woman an apologetic smile.
?
"Don't worry. You're not missing anything important," she assured truthfully.
"I don't see how you think it can be useful to our current situation to know," she? added to Castiel, 2nd guessing her own words about the lack of import as soon as she'd spoken them.
?
"It's just fun to know things,'Azie told her, then sliding into the chair beside Cordelia's he gave her another friendly smile.
"We're speculating about how Lucifer?created?his? first demons."

At The Diner (Cordelia/Jessica/Castiel/Halbrek/etc)
Jessica was in the middle of breakfast with her family when she felt her cellphone beginning to vibrate. Briefly flashing an apologetic smile to her parents as one hand reached around to pull the device from her back pocket and automatically swiping right to unlock the screen. She lowered her eyes promptly opening the message growing thoughtful then quickly texting back.? ? ? ? ? ? ? 'Had a little exorcism last night. Demon bragged that SHE was here in Sleepy Hollow. Two guesses as to who he meant by that.' ? ? ? ? ? ? Setting it down beside her plate after hitting send a little concerned at the nature of the text received. Maybe it had something to do with a potential job. If that turned out to be the case she hoped it was nothing too major. Sighing when she picked up her bacon biscuit and took a bite. Times like these her mind often wandered to the decision made so soon after her resurrection about it being better for everyone involved if she didn't head back to Stanford...to Sam.? ? Some of her loved ones had gone so far as threatening to laminate a list of all the valid points made during that little intervention. Looking back she knew at the time that walking back into his life after dying in what authorities labeled a house fire would have only messed him up. He had needed to be able to mourn and move on. But then while working a job with her father a demon had let it slip that everything she endured leading up to her death had all been in the name of getting her boyfriend back on the road hunting with his brother.? ? It came as a complete shock to learn he wasn't the 'civilian' she had thought him to be and that in the end she been little more than a pawn in some demon's endgame. She hadn't forgotten the yelling matches that followed either. Her parents were especially wary of the Winchesters after learning the truth...almost as though they suspected Sam of knowingly setting her up to die.? ? Shaking off those thoughts when her phone pinged once more she reached over grabbing her phone again to read the text. Quickly replying... ? ? ? ? 'On my way.' ? ? ? ? ? She finished her breakfast then informed her family she was off to meet up with another hunter about a potential job. A few words of caution were exchanged before the blonde left the kitchen grabbing her jacket and keys off the couch after pocketing her phone. Slipping out the door she headed for her old Camaro and moments later was steering it down the street heading into town.? ? About twenty minutes later she was pulling into the parking lot of the diner.? |

Re: Visions and the Questions They Raise (Cordelia/via text Halbrek)
Cordelia looked up when the waitress returned not really paying attention to the words being said as both drink and food were placed on the table. Simply offering a polite nod before her attention was drawn back to her phone as it pinged. Her fingernails lightly tapping the smooth wooden surface as she waited until she found herself alone again before checking the small device.?
?
Swiping right to unlock the screen she read the message she had gotten in response, a slight smirk falling into place when a 'shameless flirt' was mentioned. 'Currently at the diner grabbing a bite to eat. No clue where his friend Dean has gotten off to.' There was a chance the man had still been asleep when she knocked but there was also just as good of one he took off in the middle of the night.?
?
She hit send then texted a local hunter who she had worked a couple jobs with to see if she had heard any rumblings about anything apocalyptic in nature. While she waited to hear back the brunette set about eating her breakfast. It was a few minutes before her phone pinged again.?

?
'Had a little exorcism last night. Demon bragged that SHE was here in Sleepy Hollow. Two guesses as to who he meant by that.'
?
?
?
?
?
?
"No...no...no..." She quietly repeated as that message left her with a pit in her stomach. Most demons said that when referring to Eve and if she was here...
?
Quickly texting back. 'Meet me at the diner. Something you need to know. May need your help.' Hitting send she went back to her breakfast while trying to fight back the growling sense of dread hearing that in combination with her visions inspired.?

//Alright,//Halbrek texted back.
?
//We can meet within the hour, and we should. We're in a bit of a meeting at the moment, but it's been productive. A...friend of Castiels has also come to help out and we'll be bringing him along. Be warned, he is a shameless flirt. As for the headless horseman...story...it wouldn't be the first one to be true. The only thing that bothers me is the resurrection bit...it feels...bad somehow. Good work on your part, though. Rest and eat something...give your body whatever it needs...sorry weak on the human needs bit. Where should we meet?//

Re: Visions and the Questions They Raise (Cordelia/via text Halbrek)
Cordelia was browsing the menu when an alert tone drew her attention back to her phone which she promptly picked up. It made as much sense as anything else. She had came to this town based on a vision about a headless horseman which seemed to lead to one about Ichabod Crane. It took her a few minutes to decide whether to respond via text with what else she had seen.?
?
But the risk of having someone eavesdropping if she opted for phone call instead caused her to be more cautious. Drawing a breath before beginning to type out a response. 'There's more. In the vision I saw the inside of a cave...there were glass jars with contents I couldn't see that shattered one by one around a spot on the ground then a man dug himself out of it. Guessing he's Ichabod Crane.'
?
She sat the phone down on the table when a waitress approached and after ordering her food brown eyes turned to the window. Silently going over both visions trying to find any clues that might suggest why she was seeing these things. What could they possibly have to do with one another besides an old story?

//It wasn't me was it,//Halbrek quipped, returning the text in less than 3 minutes.
She and Cas had been up all night with the summoning business and still held Lucifer in one circle though they would need to be releasing him soon...due to the act someone that powerful left an energetic signature that none of them wanted being noticed just now.
?
Another thought made Halbrek send another text.
?
//He's from that old story the Headless Horseman...I always thought there was more to that story. Many truths as well as many spells are masked as fiction. We just have to discover how much in his case.//

Visions and the Questions They Raise (Cordelia/via text Halbrek)
Cordelia woke sometime later looking to the nightstand where her laptop was placed earlier then somewhat reluctantly crawling out of bed. Yawning as she approached the duffel bag containing her clothes, digging around until she found a suitable outfit and other necessities then went into the bathroom. Going through her normal routine she took a shower then got dressed tucking her dirty clothes into the plastic bag beside her duffel bag.? ? She turned grabbing both her blow dryer and brush then set about drying her hair before brushing it. Maybe after grabbing a bite to eat she could make sense of the vision. Who was the redhead? And more importantly...who was Ichabod? Why did it seem so important that he be found? Finishing up in her room she grabbed what she needed before exiting and locking the door back behind her. ? ? Moving away from the door to her room she stopped outside of Dean's, lifting a hand she lightly knocked only leaving when she didn't hear anything on the other side. Pulling the cellphone from her pocket as she walked towards the diner sending a quick text to Halbrek 'had another vision. saw a woman...a redhead who said the name Ichabod. think it has to do with our headless friend.' Hitting send just as she reached her destination, smiling in thanks to an elderly man who held the door for her before entering and taking a seat in a booth near the window.? |

Re: The Journey Through The Circles - Part 2
"All those you name would not work with any simpering silly angel," Crowley protested the names of arch demons listed.
?
"None of them. But an Arch angel...that's a thought," he said, tone turning musing as he leaned forward slightly to study the card.
?
"I mean...One angel is already with a demon, why not another."
?
He sighed.
?
"You've done well..Just keep an eye on that and wait here. I'll be back."
?
Speaking of higher ranking among their own kind...he wanted to hunt down Eve and have a little talk. See if she was aware of any of this...He wanted a piece off the action but if there was more than one angel possibly involved...And on that thought the King of the Crossroads vanished.

Re: The Journey Through The Circles - Part 2
"Thank you, my Liege," Rudolph voiced his relief, his mind busily going over the spell, crafting a connection between the now and the later now, and cementing it with the appropriate middle glyph. "As for it could be, well there are a number of powerful players with various abilities. An entire coven of witches could do the trick,?some Behemoth and Leviathans, senior demons, arch angels and the most powerful of warlocks and shamans. Although, the later should be revealed by the nature of the invisibility cloak they utilize, so less likely to be involved than some others. ? "If I had to guess, I would name some powerful entities from one of our ranks. Azazel is rumored to have all kinds of surprising powers, and Lilith, and Abbadon of course. Then there is Dagon, Belial and also Molokh, too many competitors of your Lordship to keep track of.?Our job would be so much easier when some of them are limited in what they can do," Yerbler spoke conversationally, patiently weaving in the mean time a thin thread of pure Hellish energy to connect what was with what would be. ? |

Crowley nodded, gesturing with one hand casually as if to brush away the other demon's concerns.
?
"Of Course! I don't plan to go any time soon...at least not very soon, and when I do I'll be sure to let you know first so you can attend to the set up. Don't worry, I'd not ruin all your hard work. Especially when it's being done on my account," he assured smoothly.
?
Of course he meant it. He was being benefited, after all.
?
?
"You are doing well," he assured, understanding that sometimes this one needed reassuring.
?
?
"Now...I wonder who is strong enough to mask them...that would bother being with them now," he mused, turning his attention back to the matter at hand, one forefinger idly tapping his chin as he frowned in thought.

Re: The Journey Through The Circles - Part 2
Rudolph happily nodded at Crowley's words and was going to simply proceed with the spell when his mentor's remark made him pause. Not wishing to incur the unholy wrath on his head right after he managed to assuage the savage outburst, Yerbler hesitantly offered. "My Lord, if you happen to lose the patience, with the spell potentially being triggered at an inopportune moment, this?Castiel might become aware of your involvement with it, if you simply drop for a visit. As I would not like you to experience the backlash of a good intention, perhaps you can let me know when you intend to visit him, then I will drop the spell and nobody will be the wiser..." the yellow haired demon slowly proposed, with a mild inner tremor accompanying an act of such boldness. ? Then the?tall looking demon returned to?working the alarm spell once again, finding refuge with?the familiar craftsmanship.?During his training years, the deceptively timid looking Furfur trained him?in magic similar to Enochian?but of a lower level of reality, and thus better attuned to his own special skill. "Practical magical arts do not require you to understand how reality works, that blasphemy is reserved for the angels. We are efficiently thinking lot, and we impose our will on the environment instead. What-we-want-to happen-is-more-important," the small demon?had emphasized each word with the rhythmic beat of his unnecessary cane onto the surface of the nearby iron pot, filled to the brim with sinners. ? They were a good team, Furfur and Belial, the first?covering the relevant theoretical aspects of the sigil theory, the later instilling in his students an indomitable will to make their image of the future?real.?After years of practice, that skills has become almost automatic. Imagining the future in which the defending presence retreats, the alarm triggers a strand of barely detectible energy spilling forth?towards a predestined target, and then conditioning the possible future with?a darkly glowing glyph of his making, a mere technicality at the service of a greater design. There were some rumors of course, and despite their seeming irrelevance, Rudolph rejoiced in collecting such bits of lore, that the glyphs were potentials of other worlds, that they stole energy from dimensions unknown. But not being Enochian, they still held less influence over the nature of the immediately useful reality and as such, even the higher demons believed in their usage. ? So many things could be achieved with a secret esoteric language?that nature itself might speak if it were inanimate, but for Rudolph, the?magical alphabet merely augmented his own magical ability of forcing connections and openings where none existed before. He reveled?in his talent and more so in?being useful to the only master who ever showed him kindness, He would borrow from his own soul matter if he had to, and?if his willingness to sacrifice could?help his mentor achieve his long term plans.?An alarm spell, though mildly taxing, was still utilizing his ability and allowing him to shine in the way he never could before and that in itself gave him as much satisfaction as any demon could hope for. ?? |

Crowley nodded.
?
"It's alright," he? assured his demonic minion grudgingly.
?
They 're up to something...and I don't like it. I like it even less now that this is showing us that someone else is involved. Even more? powerful it seems. So yes. Make the alarm and we will see what happens when that one is gone. If this doesn't occur before I grow too...curious I'll simply pop in for a visit. I"m sure Castiel misses me by now," he added with a dry smirk. ?
" You've done well," he assured the other demon with a smile.

Re: The Journey Through The Circles - Part 2
"It is not supposed to happen this way," Rudolph?complained?embarrassed, not sure how well his mentor would accept such an admission.?He thought perhaps Crowley did something wrong, and since he had given the more complete control of the situation to his senior, he might not be able to fix the problem with the right kind of nudge, because reclaiming the?controlling potency?could be too major to stay undetected.?But now Yerbler could see it was somehow different, it wasn't about the power of the?nudge itself, but about what prevented it from taking place. ? "The energies cannot be moved at all. It's not that they won't move because the spell is wrong," Rudolph hastily explained, lest he be unfairly blamed for an error in judgment. "They are trying to swirl around but there is a deep impregnable wall that?limits the space into which they can move.?In other words, a different power is stopping the convalescence required.?The angel and the demon might be incredibly, unexpectedly powerful, but they should not be able to stop the energy at its tracks, only later should they be able to notice it and intercept it, if they are remarkably lucky, skillful and strong, and we are talking abnormal standards of strength. ? The only explanation for the small effect has to be that someone else, aside from them is out there, and not bound by the Lovers spell, they are the ones able to use their considerable powers or a shield built in advance to minimize such an effect..." Rudolph wondered, partially horrified and partially thrilled at the prospect of his seemingly insignificant?spell being possibly noticed by one of the fabled arch angels. The names of Raphael, Gabriel and Uriel?excitedly occurred to him, eclipsed only by the even more likely one, of Metatron.? ? He completely forgot about the scribe who invented the language of spells itself, but it wasn't his fault. It was difficult to imagine why such a senior angel would be talking to some middle ranking angel or demon in the first place.?He even excluded the arch angel from the list of those counter parts of his with a seemingly related talent that could neutralize his, but perhaps he got too eager when he promised such assurances to Crowley. Metatron's knowledge of the glyphs, of?the?changes they made unto the physical world, the gates that could be open, was more than enough in itself, his power to augment such talents should be staggering by all reports. If he was right, he had to think of something, before the boss got angry with him. ? "Well, I could build an advanced alerting spell then. It probably would not be activated until the two leave the presence of whatever it is they are surrounded by,?,When the?energies start appropriately moving, we will know they are on their own, and the spell is safe to enact.?At least you?were doing it right,?I knew you would have the instinct," Rudolph shyly complimented, not wishing Crowley's ire to?spill once more all over him for something he could not possibly control. ? |

Re: The Journey Through The Circles - Part 2
Rudolph Yerbler was not truly surprised by his mentor's outburst. Crowley often exhibited his temper precisely this way, without the slightest change in his tone. The only?strange thing he noticed at the sounds of such a well vocalized rebuke, was when Rudolph suddenly hear another line from?the song recommended to him by the King of the Crossroads. ? "I follow the sorrow song of the moon," the line came to him, isolated from the very first verse in which it could be found, as if there was a hidden meaning behind it. And no doubt, there was, for his boss to think of it.?<I have to follow my own quest," a likely interpretation assembled itself in his mind, without any direct thoughts of his to help it along.?It made sense of course, so Crowley's ability to jolt his mind into a puzzled frenzy helped after all, even if it wasn't in the manner he could have anticipated. ? "Of course Sir. I am sorry Sir," Rudolph sheepishly professed, as he apologetically bowed his head, his facial expression appropriately blank for the occasion. Trying to think about the other lines from the Song of Sorrow, his mind came returning to the one he had already considered and its interpretation, an image of a vague tall figure,?perhaps a symbolic representation of himself, finally coalescing in his mind's eye. He would have to think more on it later of course, since a more urgent question required his attention now. ? "Well, when the effect becomes tangible, and it could take a day or two, the figures in the drawing should be able to move, towards each other. They are structured as elements of representational magic, so their respective?real life?counterparts?would not feel the motion, except, in terms of emotion. For you to know for sure though when the desired result took place, well, it depends if you can sense the subtler currents of energetic exchange between them.?In truth I have never thought that there might be any kind of power you do not possess, Sir, and simply assumed you would?see, but there might be a more precise way than relying on such imperfect tools. ? If?I am wrong and you need to know as soon as it happens, but aren't able to notice the change in their energetic representation, then I could?design a spell that woud tie a change in the drawing to a physical object, similar to the human alarm clock, to alert you to the change. In a sense, that is how I can work with portals. Opening them my special way implies?the ability to craft something intangible even by many demon senses and then connect it to something that can be expressed in more tangible terms. All of my talents of various kinds seem to center on that aspect," Rudolph slowly spoke and?was struck by the pleasant realization that for the first time in a while, he learned something new about himself.? |

Re: The Journey Through The Circles - Part 2
Crowley looked up with a dark hard glare.
?
"Why did you have to go ruining things? Just when we were getting on so very well," he implored.
?
"The hint I gave? you was concerning your own stupid personal problems OF WHICH I CARE NOTHING ABOUT!"
?
Glaring down t the card he focused his annoyance toward Castiel. He was going to really dislike the red haired demoness for what Rudolph had just pulled working his own personal interests into Crowley's own agenda like a little worm. Just the sort of demon who would eventually betray? him for his own interests some day. Just like all the bloody worthless rest.
?
Disgusted Crowley, King of the crossroads directed all these feelings at Castiel. Indeed he thought, finger tapping over the angel's face. The demoness would only betray him in the end, going after her own agenda...why? Well just as with Rudolph there was no loyalty and that was just simply what demons did.
"How do I see how it works? Right now they are hidden to me," Crowley complained peevishly.

He was eager...very eager to play with this card but wanted to make sure he fully understood it first...or as fully as one could before actually playing. Re: The Journey Through The Circles - Part 2
Rudolph Yerbler has been mostly quiet as he presented his master with the final draft. He still was not quiet satisfied with his artwork, there was more to be desired, a detail he missed, a nuance he had ignored and could prove vital later on. After all, their very unholy Lord was said to be hiding in the details.?But Crowley could sense the energy field around it, so he must have gotten the gist of it right at least, only his perfectionism demanding a more elaborate?reworking of the completed drawing. Resigning himself to just letting it go, a thing many humans appeared to be better at than demons, the?yellow haired demon proceeded to explain his masterpiece. ? "This?drawing should create a certain type of fascination for the angel. There is this germ of the idea that could be encouraged through this card, that he and the demoness do not see eye to eye. That they never will, in fact, see, eye to eye. That their relationship is over, doomed to failure, was from the start, that angels and demons cannot work together, especially when they have to actively oppose each other. ? You see, Sir, their relationship and the opposition is rather embedded in them looking away from one another. It creates a tension of sorts that can be exploited. Verbal commands would not do against such a strong will as an angel, or a powerful demoness, for that matter. But I have given you, in this figure that sadly but purposefully gives you little justice, over them. You can indirectly whisper into their ears, the thoughts you wish to encourage, so long as you do not force their complete separation. ? To a degree, as a couple, they are bound to your service. They are used to various spells, indirect assault of energy and other tricks those on your scale of power might employ. Their relationship is a newer thing, it seems. at least my contacts in the River Acheron who are privy to many things, have not heard?rumors of their encounters in the past. So with a relationship relatively new, which they no little how to safeguard, while I have a certain skill at exploiting,?you have as much influence over their partnership while it lasts, as you would over a small demon like myself. ? I have checked the lore, and there are many more demons who specialize in relationship than there are angels. The?few angels they could appeal to for help appear to be weaker, like myself, their only talent?having to do with encouraging or safeguarding a partnership. I would suggest, and leave it up to your wiser discretion of course, that?you instantly dispose of?such angels, they?are weak enough to be handled by the rank demons. After this small caution is taken care of, you should have?a?mostly unopposed control over the two. I would not say complete, because that would be careless on my part, but even when alerted to?nature of this card, arch angels like?Gabriel or Michael himself should have some difficulties at countering our,?I?meant to?say?'your' of course, hold over the couple..." Rudolph offered with a shy smile, very proud of his success despite?his initial doubts of accuracy. ? It was true that he got lucky, and could exploit a surprising weakness of greater powers only because they seemed to have developed a relationship, but he would accept any such major victory no matter what route it took to accomplish it or how much it had to do directly with blind luck. |

Re: The Journey Through The Circles - Part 2
"What's the energy around Castiel supposed to make him feel,"Crowley asked.
?
He spoke nearly in a monotone so focused was he on the card his talented and creative underling had?just placed in his hands.
"I can feel the energy of Mary Sibley around this...very interesting work. This is true art right here! And I don't just mean in the drawing itself...which is nonetheless beyond bloody brilliant," Crowley enthused,, honestly for once.
?
"I feel the energy you've woven, fine delicate work to be admired as art as much as anything else here," he said, tapping the edge of the card with one finger.
?
Indeed he was eager. Very eager though he seemed merely friendly and interested...indeed in good spirits. He had a new toy of power and couldn't wait to play. Having something to literally hold over a demoness wasn't as fascinating, but over an angel? Castiel himself to be precise. Well it was bloody brilliant indeed not to mention sweet.
