Porta Band stand

 

Hey folks , I have this old Milwaukee porta band that has ben hanging out since i retired . It's a lot heavier that I remember them being . Have any of you come up with a bench or even a free standing setup that will let ya use a porta band like a cut off saw . I'm looking for ideas, pics , things that didn't work .

Look up a universal portable band saw stand. HF has one for like $120 plus there are others. Need to make sure it will fit yours. I have one, can't remember the brand (to cold and snow to go out to garage but will look later if you want). Only used it once so far but it does work. Good luck.

Lots of DIY plans out there, here’s two




Quinn at Blondihacks has a neat design that mounts the whole thing ?in your bench vise so it’s easy to stow away when you’re not using it.

I made a copy of this one, mostly from the pictures. I don't know who to attribute it to, it was ten years ago from the internet. There might have been instructions on mounting the saw, it is for a Harbor Freight. I would assume one could figure it out for his particular saw. It works well, I still use it to this day. I had a trigger type switch adapted to a handle I made for it, but now I just have a toggle switch I use.
