That's where something like a Sherline/Taig/Unimat comes into play, Dave.

I agree.??
have you used a Sherline/Taig/Unimat lathe?
How well do they work?
?
I have never used a Sherline/Taig/Unimat lathe.?
?
I was looking was under for lathes 24" and weight where two could could pick the lathe or 120 pounds [54 KG].
?
A 24" space is to small I think at less 30" Ideally 36".
?
I found most Armoire 24" , 30"/32" and 36". I have found a few 18" to 72"

开云体育??? ??? I have a Taig , whe I forst bought it I thiought it was
someones homemade lathe , I paid 40 bucks I think with a couple
boxes of goodies , Milling attachment ,?? steady , brand new
unused 4 jaw . It's a lot more lathe than I gave it credit for
when I first bought it .? Sometimes it's easier & faster to
use it that clean up the South Bend to make or tune up a part .
There's no shortage of pic's of work folks have turned out on
these smaller lathes on line . Some of it is way way above my pay
scale . animal On 1/6/25 9:10 AM, davesmith1800 wrote:

开云体育I think it’s the one that Clickspring uses a lot in his videos…in fact I think that he refers to his 7x14 as his ‘big’ lathe :-)?That was an awesome awesome deal you got for $40!

I have a whole basement for a shop now, but maybe that won't be true forever. This idea is incredibly cool, and a 7x lathe would work as well as a Unimat if you found a big enough armoire. Mike Taglieri? On Mon, Jan 6, 2025, 12:19?PM Erik S. via <eriks750=[email protected]> wrote:
