开云体育Whole lot of “maybes” in that article.? Also says the excess water will be up there for “maybe 10-15 years”, while if you read the actual paper is says “maybe 5-10 years”, so who know what orifice the reporter pulled those numbers from.? Meanwhile CO2 hangs around for a 1000 years.? ? Maybe people would take notice if we fired off a massive volcano every decade instead. ? Tony ? ? 开云体育While acknowledging that there are natural cycles of the earth heating and cooling, we also have to look at what drives feedback for those systems, and perhaps several of the changes made by man, such as increased CO2, etc. contribute more to positive rather than negative feedback excursions.? Negative feedback tends to dampen variations, while positive feedback enhances them.? I’m sure everyone is familiar with the loud squeal from positive feedback that one gets when one brings a microphone too close to a loud speaker that is reproducing the signal going into the microphone – well that is the result of positive feedback.? Positive feedback also increases the vibration one sees while turning unsupported work pieces in your lathe (contributing to a poor finish).? Wrapping the workpiece with something like lead provides negative feedback and reduces or dampens the vibrations.? ???? ? Just a thought, and someone with a background in this area can tell me if my thinking is off track and end this OT string. ? Jerry F. ? This is gradually turning? Into a discussion of politics which, some of us will remember, is what destroyed the 7x10 minilathe group. Let's not go down that road. Mike Taglieri On Thu, Jul 11, 2024, 4:07 AM Gerald Feldman via <gfeldman2904=[email protected]> wrote:
