Can You Use a Dial Caliper as ag Non-Digital "DRO?" (was "Re: LittleMachines DROs and dials")

Then calculator in the tool box and 25.4 to covert from monkey ?? marks to inch Dave? I purchased my first metric tap in 1976 M12 used 12,000 still have tap.
