Metal Cutting Bandsaw

Dear Friends....Would like to thank Clint, Lenord & the Group for the
excellent posts concerning the 4x6 Metal Cutting Bandsaws. It appears
that I will sometime in the near future purchase the HF. The best
price in their latest catalog is $169.95. I like the $99.00 price
that Clint came up with :-). There is a Grizzly Machinery Outlet
about 35 miles from here. However they want $199.95 for what appears
to be the same machine as HF. The information concerning the
achievement of relatively straight cuts that was provided by other
members was especially valuable. It will come in handy. Kindest
regards!
Pete

If you use the "order from catalog and type in different numbers you
should be able to find it a bit cheaper than 169. Wish I'd gotten it
for $99 too, though :)

Two different saws are out there, one as pictured in the home page
with the sheet metal guide arms (the one i pefer) they are mounted on
the outside, and the ones with cast iron guide arms they are mounted
on the underside. I dont think it makes much of a big deal just
preference on looks. I have read in other groups to stay away from
the stamped arms but mine (i have two) is super well made. I have
used $2000.00 saws in shops if they are not adjusted correctly they
dont cut any better, so price isnt an object. Mine has run daily for
the past 3 years...Bob

IMHO the Grizzly is a better choice than the HF. The Grizz includes
and arm lock for full down and full up position which the HF I looked
at doesn't. The arm lock is a nice feature.
