Hi, Im new, few questions about my bandsaw

Bill H

Hi all, my name is Bill.
I bought my 4x6 bandsaw from Tractor supply locally for 179$. THeir
brand name is Clarke.

My bandsaw, im not sure if its the blade guides or how they drilled
the castings, but when I cut anything, the cut is allways slanted,
the cut moves towards the cut off end as the blade moves down. Im
hoping it is just the blade guides needing to be set.

Another thing I need to fix is that last time I moved it, the wheels
slid out from underneath it, and the saw landed on the motor. It
bent the motor mounting plate like a piece of tin foil.
After reading a few posts, I think I should also drain my oil out,
and replace it.

Accordin to what some fellers have told me ... a blade will wear on
on one side of the teeth after a period of extended use. They say
bout all ya can do is replace the blade. I wudn't think a new saw
wud have a worn blade, but it wudn't be the first time an inventory
item has been used an returned to stock. Corse I have no scientific
proof, but I do have a lot of cow pasture wisdom. ... :o) TEX

Hi Bill,

The first few cuts I made with my new saw were also angled, had me
bumfuzzled for a minute until I realized that the stck I was cutting
was not laying exactly parralell with the deck of the saw. Put a
couple of shims under the back of the long bar and it cut clean and
true. Now I use a level on my bar stock to check before cutting.

Give this a try and see if it worms for you.

Regards

BK

P.S. Definately drain, flush and refill your gearbox. Just because
you have already run it dosen't mean it won't help.

Happy Cutting
