That is insanely high priced.
When I was still buying PPE, 3M 8210’s (N95) were less than a buck a copy, if you bought them by the case.

It's illegal to price gouge these items
right now, like this guy is doing. In my state, the Attorney General has
been filing charges against scum that are marking up PPE to exorbitant
prices.

While I agree, with most of the comments, what exactly is the difference between market demand based pricing, and price gouging?

OTOH the guy does not even appear to be a member of the group.
At least a search in the directory yielded nothing for me in his regard, so he may already be a moot point.

It likely varies by state, but in CA it's basically an increase in price greater than 10% during a declared emergency.

Personally, I have very mixed feelings about these laws. Intentionally exploiting others suffering for excess profit is a problem that should be dealt with.
But these laws can cause more harm than good.
I remember years ago, after a hurricane, a guy was charged with price gouging and his product impounded.? The fully story was - he was unemployed and lived up north in the central US.? He maxed out his credit cards, rented a moving truck, and filled it with generators he bought at the "big box" stores in his area.? He brought them down to the area of the hurricane and was selling them out of the truck for 2x their normal price.? Personally, I think what he was doing was outstanding.? I would happily pay 2x under those circumstances because that would be the only way I could get a generator.? ?If you consider his total cost and profit per hour, his prices and profit in that situation was very reasonable.? Yet the government found it necessary to protect us from him.
What about masks produced today through inefficient means?? At 2x the cost, I'm sure they found find inefficient ways to boost production.? But apparently we must be protected from activities like that, which would would increase the supply of critical goods.
Sometimes the cure for high prices, is high prices.? Obscene profit attracts innovators who find creative ways to increase supply.
As for these overpriced masks, presumably the odds are in favor with you guys's suspicions.? Its likely just another case of of marking up as much as he can to make extra $.? If so, that's irritating.? ?But its also irritating that society is willing to harm us all (with artificially low supply of critical goods) in the name of punishing a few bad actors.
I'm not trying to be critical of the warnings posted about the link.? It think you guys' caution is well justified.? I'm just irritated about what I see as some misguided laws.
ok, rant over.? I'll shut up now :)

I understand the feeling, but logically I think you need to decide if you are a believer of capitalism or socialism. (I know there are other options but those are the big ones in the world today.)? If you choose capitalism, then you can't also say there should be laws or regulations about profiting in a bad situation (like a pandemic) as you wouldn't when in a good situation ("normal" times). If you believe in supply and demand economics, then leave it alone and let supply and demand work their magic.
As soon as you think the government should supply or subsidize masks or anything else, then you're leaning into socialist territory.
And the above is without even getting into the "Is the pandemic worse than a typical flu year?" arguments.

Gasafixer, we needn’t search long to find examples of covid-19 naysayer obituaries. No offense intended but if you have something worthy of contribution regarding band saws, I’m interested. Otherwise, you’re just unnecessary noise.
