Blade tracking on HF bandsaw

John

Hi All:
HELP! HOW DO YOU GET THE BLADE ON THE WHEELS, HOW DO YOU ADJUST
TRACKING AND HOW MUCH TENSION SHOULD BE SET ON THE BLADES.
(sorry for the caps, but I need to shout and thought it would be
better than cussing.)
Did one one of my dummies again today. When I got the HF bandsaw I
first tried to cut off a piece of mild steel, worked great out of the
box (and assembly). Then did what I always do on my wood bandsaw, I
loosend the tension on the blade. Came back this morning and wanted
to cut a little piece of 1/2x1/2 key stock. Put it in the vice and
forgot to tighten the blade tension again. Blade jumped wheels!
Fought to the blade back on and it keeps jumping off again. Took off
the blade guides and tracked it that way. Got it running true and put
the tension off again to put on the blade guides. But jumped track
again as soon as I started the cut.
Now came in here, as getting too hot in the shop, blade is off the
wheels again, key stock still in one piece, hands, arms all scrached
up from fighting that particular allegator. HELP!

I never loosen the tension on mine, keep it as tight as it'll go until
the motor refuses to turn.

Graciously,
