Bi-Metal blades - which brand??

stresspup2002

I was wondering if you could recommend a brand and place to purchase
bi-metal blades for my HF saw? The blade that came on it is pretty
cheap and I need to replace it to save some time on the projects I
have.

I know of Lenox, Sanvik, Olson (Sears). I'm sure there are more. I
am just doing home shop type stuff, but I do what a blade that will
do a better job and last a bit longer.

THANKS!!

My own personal choice is Starrett, available online from several sources. These last MUCH longer than the OEM blade.

Whether Starrett or other brand be sure to get the bi-metal blades, not the carbon blades.

Would some of you mind telling me your saw blade preferences? Manufacturers but also do you prefer high speed steel or bi-metal, or? And for what uses each?

AAAAK! Thanks for the correction, Dave. YES, the Starrett blades I get ARE bi-metal! Sorry about that! Senior moment...

Big difference in performance and also in longevity. Bi-metal blades are much better!

I use only Lenox bi-metal blades in my 4x6 bandsaw. Also, I use water soluble oil/water as a coolant solution that is recirculated by a little pump. The cuts are precise and quick. The blades last very long too.See the photos section of my setup. I also have an article about building a coolant system on the cheap.
