Folks;
In mid-July, I posted the original OT message about bandsaw
performance problems, and got several thoughtful replies which taken
together would be a nice FAQ on bandsaw checkups. I tried all of them
and actually got the saw to cut much better, probably because of a
loose belt.
Here's what else I found after looking more carefully inside the bow
(the oval housing the blade?).
One of the 2 hex screws (farthest from the motor) that holds the
folding plastic protective shroud around the belt and pulleys
penetrates the bow far enough to interfere with the blade.
Probably my fault for not finding this out earlier, but a little
grinding or a shorter hex screw will solve the problem.

Has anyone else noticed this problem? Is it electrical?
